Third Seat Saiko, a helpless victim swept up in the storm of the actions and decisions of others, her seniors meant to be veterans in terms of shinigami conduct and life, meant to be examples instead serve as her downfall. In her panic her mind races for answers, uncertain to what exactly she had done to warrant such negative attention. She questions her decision in saving the downtrodden man, beaten by his attackers prior to her intervention. Though young and less experienced she is still a shinigami. She calms herself, at least..as best she can and reassesses both her surroundings and her situation. She silently places pieces together. Her Lieutenant’s relaxed demeanor, the focus of all the Onmitsukido seemingly trained on the Oda, she begins to understand that this has nothing to do with her actions, it had nothing to do with her from the beginning.
"It'll be alright. Just listen to them and don't try anything, you'll be just fine."
With her name called, the young Oda attempts to appease his young subordinate, to ease her of any worries she may have. While a portion of what the Lieutenant has said was true enough, there was one portion that was yet to be seen.
Would it really be alright?
“I agree to be questioned on behalf of Lieutenant
Oda.”

And so she willingly submits. She understands that she is insignificant in the grand scheme of whatever dubious matters Katsuo has found himself in. Genuinely ignorant of any actions or information she is an innocent soul in all of this. It is because of her innocence she has no need to fight, to resist. With the matter of the Third seat settled, Katsuo faces his escorts, the smile he had offered Saiko now abandoned for a colder gaze. The Onmitsukido stare back, unfazed by the seriousness of the look in the Oda’s eyes, or the boy’s fearless demeanor.
"Well, I shouldn't resist given it was a captain who gave you those orders now shouldn't I? Just don't try to take my Zanpakuto, and I'll comply. Okay?"
Again, the boy attempts to wrest some semblance of control over his predicament. Believes he is in a position to negotiate the terms of his detainment, to make demands of them. He proves his ignorance yet again. While versed in the traditions of his clan he should also understand that the same clan with those traditions is and always has been a militant clan committed to the cause of the Seireitei. Their traditions pale in comparison to the laws of the very organization they’d sworn their fealty to.
”Lieutenant Oda, the terms of your surrender are non-negotiable. You will be detained by us. We’ve been authorized to either bring you willingly, or to kill you.”
When the representative of the group spoke they did so without any malice, without any emotion to begin with. To others, one might believe they were looking down on the Oda, a Vice Captain within the Gotei 13, yet anyone who understood their Captain knew better. It was not as if they believed themselves to be so superior that killing the Oda would be a simple task, but that when given a command there were only ever two options.
Obey or die
Their Captain had given them specific instructions to follow, and so no matter what they had to do, how difficult the task, how many they would have to sacrifice they would be sure to follow through with their orders. If they could not bring Katsuo with them, they would place their lives on the line to end his. The Oda’s actions now serve to determine the measure of his guilt, and the fate of those captive under the thumb of the Phantom. Should Katsuo resist it will only serve to further prove he is the criminal he is painted to be as of now, and should he combat the Onmitsukido and flee...he ensures that upon their return their lives would be forfeit.
The men move in perfect harmony, one securing Saiko by her left arm to guide her away from Katsuo, while the others surround the Lieutenant, their blades now all drawn...all save for one.
CLACK. CLICK
Cuff composed of a certain material are locked and secured around the Oda’s wrists, an added measure to ensure there are no surprises or complications in the escort back to the Seireitei. The young Vice Captain would immediately be able to feel the effects of his restraints, cuffs made to lock and drain one of their Reiryoku the longer they are exposed to them, secured around the wrists, the very place one’s reiatsu vents are located at. Once secured the Oda’s zanpakuto is promptly seized. Throughout this whole process the Stealth Force watch Katsuo — they study his breathing, the flow and twitching of his muscles, his expression along with the flow of his reiatsu, seeking any irregularities..any hint of resistance, any sign of aggression. The moment a hint of single sign was shown, their blades would pierce the flesh of the Vice Captain. The distance between him and the drawn blades practically negligible.
No mind is paid to the lurking Kazumi, sifting through the gathering masses of onlookers, no thought is spared towards their former colleague. All that mattered at this time, in this moment was completing their mission and thus, securing their lives for one more day. With all parties secured they immediately disperse. When they move they do so with a body or two separating Saiko from Katsuo while another body travels along both sides of their detainees. It was a formation that allowed them to both watch and protect those in their custody. They move with the intention of rendezvousing with their Captain and the others back at the Seireitei..if not sooner.

The instant of their arrival is concurrently recognized by the Fugitive woman, not keen on playing host to her current uninvited guests. It is only after her name is spoken, that a heavy haze fills the sky, and the very air of the compound. It is a...new concoction of sorts from the woman, ever the mixer and dabbler of poisons, toxins and all other manner of concoctions. As dubious as this new mixture may be, the Former Head Lieutenant has perhaps forgotten that part of the Onmitsukido curriculum is in the handling and ingesting of varying poisons. It is a curriculum that has become increasingly harsher under the hellish hand of Ochitsuki, yet it is because of his fiendish mind that those clad in black still stand. Honoka in her absence is left ignorant to the advancements made in the past Century while she is away, even moreso in relation to the Second Division who had closed their gates to everyone outside their own.
While her special brew seemed ineffective, the same could not be said of the killing intent fanning off her form. The children begin to cry, frightened by the scene before them — surrounded by strange men in black, the people in the compound running and screaming, tripping over themselves as they sought shelter, and the otherwise gentle and tender Honoka making an expression foreign to them. Their world had been turned upside down.
"You and the child will return with m-"
"No."

Akarui watches on in silence as Kyomu issues out his demand, only to be cut off by Honoka’s unhesitant response.
.
.
.
How nostalgic. Similar to how Kyomu had made demands back at Sixth Division over a century ago and was promptly denied by the Commander, it is now his former right hand mirroring his action. However..things were different between then and now. While Shobatsu held the authority to deny the Captain, Honoka the fugitive..held none.
b4b330f8eadb0bb296ef4da67a0a5882.png

She stares at the apparition before her, the vegetation around the compound responding to her ire, growing larger, denser, sharper and more hazardous by the second. The Phantom stares on, seemingly unperturbed in the face of her palpable killing intent and unrestrained reiatsu. Was this truly her answer? Would she amass more sins, more crimes than already committed? How far did she intend to fall? The two standoff, caught at an impasse. The woman dedicated to living as a mother and protecting her child from the world beyond the Oki’s walls and painted windows, the Captain...committed to fulfilling his obligations and duty as not only a shinigami and Captain of the Gotei 13, but the Corps Commander of the Executive Militia, charged with the apprehension and punishment of ex-comrades. The conviction of a mother pitted against the conviction of a killer.
It seemed that she was intent on seeing this through to the end, and Kyomu could only think of a single thing. A single thought, no..a conclusion had finally been made within his mind.
I suppose I’ll just kill her now
The phantom’s hand tightens its grip on the zanpakuto, a single gleam twinkling as it appears partially pulled from its wooden scabbard when-
"Honoka, that's enough."
An elderly woman makes her presence known, different from the fleeing, hiding and cowering Oki holed up or passed out. She approaches the fuming mother, seemingly reprimanding the woman for her reckless actions. Kyomu says nothing, his eyes following the frail looking thing continue her approach towards the fugitive woman.
CRRRrreeeaaak
The sound of weakened wood is faintly heard, no doubt from all the stress the surrounding walls and gave have been under due to the volatile nature of Honoka’s reiatsu running rampant. The old woman turns towards the Phantom presenting him with a bow before showing Honoka the ruin wrought by her own hand. Coming to her senses, the younger Oki reigns in her emotions and spiritual pressure, the rabid plant life returning to its docile state.
"Masahiro... he is safe here, still unbeknownst to the world, lest a close few. Taking him now will put him in the clutches of those who seek to turn him to his father, if not worse. She will go without a fight, I only ask that he remain here. Perhaps a few of your subordinates can remain and ensure his location?"
It is in this manner that the elder Oki and the distant young Oda are alike. The woman attempts to seize some manner of control over the situation, seeks to negotiate the terms of Honoka’s surrender, hoping to appease to the Captain’s logical her perhaps kinder and more reasonable nature.
ffbcfe170d6a1c85f50fac1753cc1eb6.png

The Captain merely stares at the short frail Oki then towards Honoka whose hands are raised in surrender. There is no anger in his eyes, no coldness or venom in his stare. No, reflected in the Phantom’s eyes is...nothing.
”You reprimand Honoka when the Oki are illicit in her actions. You have harbored both mother and child, lied, deceived. I’ll say it once more, and will not repeat myself once more..and only once more.”

In that instance the very gates and walls of the Oki compound is severed from the top of the gate down to and through the very ground, collapsing in upon itself. It seems that in that moment that Kyomu had concluded that there was no use speaking further to Honoka, that she was too foregone, beyond reason and his only course of action was to cut her down, and unsheathed his blade he was already in the process of swinging his blade to split the woman in two. Already committed to his goal to his action, the elder’s intervention served only to cause the Captain to divert his swing in the last possible moment, angling it away from Honoka. The force, speed and sharpness of the swing could not be undone, severing through both earth, wood, plaster, stone and air without the slightest hint of resistance. It is only now that the Captain’s previous actions can be perceived, and that is in its aftermath.
”The woman and child will both return with me to the Seireitei to go before the Commander. Do not disgrace yourselves further, this is not something the Oki can barter or negotiate their way around. Come quietly....or I will cut through every single Oki here until not a single one is left breathing. There is much to be answered for.”
He spoke matter-of-factly, his words direct and without double meaning or cause for misinterpretation. Akarui who, while safeguarding the children has done nothing to resist or attack the Captain or his subordinates, remains ever on Kyomu’s radar. She is also oddly silent, curious that she has nothing to say in all this. The Commander’s wife is not known for her silence after all. Just as before he expects compliance from everyone. While Kazue is not familiar with Kyomu it is easy for the woman to tell the sincerity in every word he spoke, something Honoka who was better acquainted with him could attest to. While fighting Honoka and potentially this older Oki would be a nuisance..that is all it would amount to...a temporary nuisance. A mere distraction at best towards the completion of his mission. Kyomu would cut through them to complete his goal...and he would cut through every Oki present and alive to send a message going forward. Men, women, children...young or old, he would remove the Oki from the root if need be-
All in the name of the Seireitei.

The Komamura was grief stricken, almost in shock at the loss of their beloved captain. A lot of 7th Division members were. It seemed not so long ago the excitement of having a captain was there, and then gone in a flash of flame. A clash and spark of energy erupted from the 7th Division Lieutenant, as she burst her anger and sorrow forth in an eruption of power. The rupture caused a lot of her Division, Sanyu included, to fall to the floor. Sanyu was on his knees before he burst his own Reiatsu to pad his way across the rubble to Atsuko. A wave of beautiful blue hues washed over him as he did so, and go to put a hand on her shoulder.
"I know it's upsetting Lieutenant, but before we accuse the village of anything, let us do what we do best in the Rukongai and investigate… let us do what Captain would of wanted us to do, and put our emotions aside and rise up to the challenge and solve the mystery."
He would try to pull Atsuko in for a big fluffy hug. He knew some of his division weren't the cuddly types, but Sanyu would do his best to make them feel better. It was apparent in Sanyu's mind that the Villagers of Kuroari were suffering just as much as they were. Whoever did all of this damage to the district was no mere soul. It either had to be Hollows, or Rogue shinigami. Who woukd be strong enough to take down a Captain of the Gotei 13, and could the three of them Handle what their Captain couldn't, or die trying here, just like Itsuki?
"We are the dogs of the Rukongai, we are a pack, we stick together, through thick and thin. We stick out for the little guys and protect the weak… the People of Kuroari, and the spirit of our Captain need us to be level headed, for the mission ahead Lieutenant… calm yourself. It'll be okay…"
Honestly he was on the verge of tears, but he didn't want to show it and have Atsuko even more upset and in pain. He'd hug her if she'd let him, a big friendly dog-person hug… who wouldn't want that? Maybe a Cat lover...

”Lieutenant Oda, the terms of your surrender are non-negotiable. You will be detained by us. We’ve been authorized to either bring you willingly or to kill you.”
This was followed by them getting closer, then chaining his wrists. He looked at the cuffs with curiosity, feeling it drain his energy.
"Oh… what material is this, would it work on hollows…?
He'd ask calmly, there was a little bit of an eye twitch upon them touching the very thing he told them not to, he clenched his fist with the sheer want to punch the man who touched it, but he did show a bit of restraint with that.
"okay, wasn't necessary seeing as my arms are chained but whatever floats yo boat bro…"
He said with a sigh. Honestly, he was acting chill about it because Saiko was also being taken. He'd look at her and smiled but didn't say much else after that. Why didn't she stay in the world of the living a little bit longer, or at the barracks and wait for him…
He felt the rise in spiritual pressure towards the Rukongai, and towards the Oki compound, and heard the earth rumble… he hoped Honoka wasn't going to make it any worse on herself either… but a mother will do anything to protect her child. Kyomu, what would he do? Does he not understand that reasoning? Katsuo wondered just how by the book the Gotei 13 has gotten in the last few years he'd been in the world of the living and the Oda compound.
The onmitsukido would have no trouble with the young Oda, besides speaking to them once, he complied. Still, his thoughts were on how his family would feel about all of this… most of all Tenzen. They weren't always the understanding type…

As Signy attempted to lift the captain’s body out of the mud, her body froze under the pressure off Atsuko’s reiatsu. Her nails dug into Itsuki as she tensed up. As she struggled against the lt.’s reiatsu, her hair began to quickly fade from blue to blond then back to blue. In the blink of an eye her body went slack and slumped over, the last thing she heard being Atsuko yelling at the villagers.
"YOU.... YOU ALL OF THIS DISTRICT, KUROARI... YOU HAVE NOTHING AT ALL, SO WHY!? WHY DO YOU TAKE FROM THOSE THAT STILL HOLD ON TO HOPE?! WAS THE JOY AND LOVE THAT OTHERS GIVE TO ONE ANOTHER TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO HANDLE!? YOUR DISGUSTING JEALOUSY GOES SO FAR THAT YOU HAD TO TAKE HIM FROM US!? DOES THIS HAORI MEAN NOTHING TO YOU ALL!?"
When Signy opened her eyes, she left out a frustrated shriek. She found herself in the barren divide that was her inner consciousness. You bitch! Let me out! Shori merely cocked her head, gazing across the chasm at her. She hadn’t brought Signy back into their shared prison. Before Shori could say anything, Signy was ripped back into control of their body.
”Nope, didn’t like that.” Signy groaned as she opened her eyes, blond hair dangling in front of them. ”Like that even less.” Blowing the loose locks out of her face, she forced herself into an upright position and snapped her attention to Atsuko and Sanyu.
"We are the dogs of the Rukongai, we are a pack, we stick together, through thick and thin. We stick out for the little guys and protect the weak… the People of Kuroari, and the spirit of our Captain need us to be level headed, for the mission ahead Lieutenant… calm yourself. It'll be okay…"
b5d2afeb0a6496d9ab9a3baa826ae358.png

Signy didn’t bother to try to suppress what came next; she busted out laughing. This was all so funny to her. ”How pathetic! If this is how you are going to behave over the death of a weak man, then you don’t deserve the title of Lieutenant, let alone to be the head of your family! That haori you hold meant nothing the moment it’s wearer died face down in the muck!” The expression of pure joy on her face morphed into a sneer as her reiatsu pooled around her in a puddle of lavender and she shakily rose to her feet.
”Now, stop throwing your childish tantrum. These things happen in life, Atsuko. No point dwelling on those who put on an air of strength and superiority only to lie in the mud when all is said and done.”
If her words weren’t enough to draw Atsuko’s ire away from the villagers, Signy raised her foot and slammed it down on Itsuki’s leg. The resulting snap of his femur should be enough to move Atsuko’s attention elsewhere, and Signy was prepared for the backlash from her squad mates. Afterall, she had been coaxed into dealing with this mission by talk of battle.

One hundred years does appear to be quite a long time, too long to some, but to the Oki, it was anything but. Honoka a testament to their clan's ability, despite her restraint. Only having seen her on the offensive but a handful of times, even then, never at full strength. Always controlled. Patient, and vigilant. Ever watchful to the minute details, a scent, a breath, a gleam. Ah-
"You reprimand Honoka when the Oki are illicit in her actions. You have harbored both mother and child, lied, deceived. I’ll say it once more, and will not repeat myself once more..and only once more."
CRRRRaaaack

Honoka watches in silence, as the two interact, listening to the voices, the shifts in motion, and rustling fabrics as those believed to be far from her reach stand high in the air. They had all see it, no? The partial extent of her reach. The sheer fact that she was alerted to their presence the moment they set foot against the outermost gate of the Oki estate. Ever passive, having never needing to waste time activating her shikai, always ready to act with a mere thought. They all lay witness to her freed emotions affecting everything bellow them, it was clear she had the ability to control every plant within the compound yet, for whatever reason, they do not take their chance to restrict her. Her crimson eyes watch the effects of the captain's slice meant for her. The groove on the earth, the slashed gate, the splinters, and the thousands of leaves scattered in the wind from the pressure of the man's strike.
The old woman glances at the destruction, then back at the captain, fully aware that such a strike was meant to slice through her granddaughter, if not for her own intervention. The elder's head darts back to her granddaughter, who seems distracted, or rather... unperturbed by the display.

"The woman and child will both return with me to the Seireitei to go before the Commander. Do not disgrace yourselves further, this is not something the Oki can barter or negotiate their way around. Come quietly....or I will cut through every single Oki here until not a single one is left breathing. There is much to be answered for."
One by one each leaf and petal slowly drifts from the sky, inconspicuously landing on Oki, Gekko, and Omnitsukido alike. Her eyes follow a particular leaf, watching it flutter in the wind while those that have landed on the unwelcome intruders ever so discretely begin to feed on their energy, silently slithering beneath their clothing, away from prying eyes or detection.
2c4bc94ad0704229b7203396c6feafe2.png

"It is not a negotiation. You threaten not only one, but two clan heads, as well as an entire clan? Makes me wonder if these orders are the Commander's, or someone else's."
They had a single chance to outfit the woman with her own pair of sekiseki cuffs, to obstruct her abilities, yet instead, the Mukuro unhesitatingly chose to strike her down. A fact Honoka came to terms with very quick, as he sought to use every means necessary, so too will she. Honoka's hands close into fists, causing the small sprouting leaves hidden away beneath the clothing of the uniformed Omnitsukido to burst through, not only on them, but also their commander, who had given his location away to the terrifyingly powerful woman the moment he chose to strike. Then again as he continued to speak to the elder Oki. They coil around their entire body, smaller sections branch off and stab themselves into their victims skin, greedily siphoning their reiryoku, as if they had been starved for millennia. Every shift, movement, causes the roots to branch out, deeper into the flesh, further obscuring their movement. This immediately prevents them from reaching for any sort of weapon to cut themselves free with, or from casting any kido, as they are far too weak to power any form of spell, while in turn, the plants grow bigger and bigger as it feeds from it's delectable buffet.
f2aff5e1aa2a88cdab868d48c0f87a67.png

"I have no intention of fighting, Captain Mukuro."
Honoka lowers her hands to her sides, sighing as she was forced to act defensively to protect everyone around her. Kyomu, always so eager to kill, could have lied to her, told her the boy could stay and brought him along once she was restrained, but instead, he chose to strike her down. Her glowing eyes glance around, watching how once again, the omnitsukido fall victim to her and her plants. Surely Higen had not yet asked for her execution, after all, she was still useful to the Seireitei, so why was he so quick to kill her? She glances back at Akarui, who has been far more cooperative to Kyomu's demands than she.
a67c6a23251d2d8bb63e5461c6569bcf.png

She steps closer, briefly watching how the branches stab into the man's flesh, how the plants pulse with life as they devour his energy. Watching as they pin and restrain him from further attacking and damaging the Oki estate. She knows if she releases him or his entourage, before the majority of their energy is depleted, they will have a fight on their hands, and she cannot allow that at such proximity to Masahiro and Haruki. He certainly made it difficult for her to think, her attachment to him putting her at odds with her superiors, now it's her attachment to her son that puts her at odds with him. Yet the woman refuses to yield, standing firm on her demand that the boy will remain in the safety of the compound.
bd95a5459c1f1e415b65543d9712d94e.png

Like the elder had asked out of courtesy, the Omnitsukido remain through outskirts of the Oki compound, yet instead of having the freedom to move about as they please, the actions of their captain cause them to remain painfully restrained and at the mercy of the Oki Lady. As Honoka begins to walk towards the gate, it is clear she has no intention of releasing not a single intruder, until she speaks with the Captain Commander. Now she dwindles the area of effect, piling up the army of soldiers meant to stop her, at the front gate, a clear sign to anyone meant to deter any future hostiles while she, and the First Division's third seat are away at business. The only hostage that glides along the earth is the young Mukuro Clan lord, who with every twitch of his muscles, can feel the wooden roots sink deeper into his flesh with excruciating pain as muscle fibers are moved and shifted to make way for the thin branching of these growths. going to far as to coil around even his bone to prevent any abrupt movement from the assassin.
"I believe Captain' Commander's waited long enough."
With those words, the former lieutenant, turned rogue sets on her way back to her former employer, escorted by First Division's Third seat, and Second Division's Captain, to answer for her long absence.
