Surprising indeed. Is Headquarters so lackluster in their security that they would allow just about anyone to enter without proper verification or even an order? EIzoku believed this professionalism, the seriousness of his demeanor held some form of merit, persuading the guardsmen of the front gate to allow his passage. However, punishment is sure to come, not for Eizoku, but for the men who were told
NOT to allow anyone without the proper authority or verification to enter. Eizoku worried not, oblivious to the order given to them, instead he proceeded as instructed. No hindrance in his stride, no fault in his step. He walks with a mission, a purpose. He sought answers, but will he truly receive? He does his best, entering with a profound amount of respect, kneeling before the High Priest just inches past the threshold. The men that line the wall remain stuck, unmoving, and so did the High Priest seemingly. Invisible to Eizoku, her eyes had trailed from her paperwork, a quick glance to his immediate entry and positioning.
Her attention returns, she doesn’t stand to face him, she doesn’t move a mile to exert herself from the hefty amount of paperwork. Soon Eizoku speaks, relaying what he deems to be important to her.
“Eizoku Yugameru of division five. I apologize for the interruption and unscheduled visit amidst your duties. Permission to speak?"
He waits for something he will not receive. His search became futile in regards to his freedom to speak. He always has this freedom, since he was so freely allowed to roam these halls. He’d receive no confirmation of any kind, but the atmosphere would be so still and quiet, eventually, he would have no choice but to speak, to break the silence once more. His mouth opens, he speaks again…
"Admittedly, my original purpose for coming to the headquarters was to find information about the current whereabouts of two of the seated members within the fifth division. I had been directly assigned to report to Lieutenant Arashi in regard to receiving my assigned duties of the day, as well as delivering a multitude of official reports under the order of the captain. However, upon arrival and searching of both their private quarters along with the division barracks, neither he nor Himari Shumi could be found for nearly the entirety of the day thus far, the same applied to the division members who had not spotted them either. I quite frankly would have been fine for simply waiting this out and continuing a prolonged search and inquisition for information for the remainder of the day, however doing so thus far had proven futile and a waste of time. That, coupled with the fact of the unexpected arrival and delivery of a hollow directly into fifth division quarters with an apparent emergency within the world of the living that retrieved a good portion of our own troops as backing, leaving us both shorthanded, and worst of all without direction or leadership amidst the time of a pending crisis. In their absence, I took control to the best of my ability, getting the situation underhand, and carried out the suddenly assigned tasks without any errors. However, makeshift unauthorized and unofficial leadership can only go so far."
Every word spoken is heard, is understood, still, she gives no significant expression to show him so. She remains, with her eyes locked into her duties, her pen jotting down notes and highlighting important facts. Once again, he is oblivious, she has already begun writing down every word he had just said. Her potential goal, to report to Lieutenant and/or Captain Oda at the earliest moment possible, if need be, for now, she keeps the matter within her records. Setting that note to the side, she returns to her previous collection of duties, continuing on to those. Should Eizoku have anything else to add, now is his time, he currently has the floor, still. For now, silence seeps in, spreading as fast as wildfire. The heartbeat of every man lining the walls is feint but heard.
“I implore you to please provide me some form of hinting or information pertaining to their whereabouts if you are aware of anything. Surely he has been here, and more than likely very recently is that the headquarters is spotless and keen without so much as a single piece of trash being found, nor a document out of place. Yet, a strand of Lieutenant Arashi's hair lies here on the floor. His recent presence here is certainly undeniable."
Truly adamant, having found evidence of Lieutenant Suta’s appearance here. Did he believe that she or anyone else here would construct a lie, would be unwilling to tell him? When did he receive this notion or misconception? Finally, She raises her head. Finally, she stands from her seat, taking steps towards the front of her desk, slowly approaching the kneeling Eizoku. Her hands moved behind her backside at the lower section, clasp together, back of one hand to the palm of the other. Still no expression and even though she stands closer now, her face is still unable to be seen through the visor. Now she truly acknowledges him and his concerns.
” It seems that security has become lackluster at the front gates. I will have to discipline them as soon as I am done here. You, one who is not a seated officer, but merely a member of the Division, show great promise. Indeed, Lieutenant Arashi Suta was here, he has been sent on a mission along with Fourth Seat Himari Shumi. They are currently investigating a matter within Rukongai, District 77. If you choose to venture out to assist them, I advise that you wait for the return of Captain Oda, who is currently involved in a meeting with the other Captains.”
The Overseer of Headquarters, her orders are the extension of the Commander of the Kido Corps, but with him being away, she holds no authority to issue an order for him to be released to the Rukongai. The matter is dangerous, a possible chance that it may turn deadly and unforgiving. An expedition that is sure to be going on for a while. However, she simply turns away, stepping back to her seat and sitting again, still giving off no feel or emotion of the matter being as difficult as she knew it was.
” Is there anything else I can assist you with, Eizoku Yugameru?”
Returning to her work, her ears are still tuned to the young man before her now. What decision will he make, having received the necessary information to act? Will he await the return of Captain Oda or will he venture off immediately to assist them? Both decisions are likely to have consequences, ones that he may need to consider. If he had nothing else to say, she would prepare the report for both Lieutenant Suta and Captain Oda regarding the incident with the hollow, and the members of Squad Five who have been sent to help.
