Silent as ever her captain was. Though it wasn’t unexpected. His report piqued her interest, but she knew the contents of it without having to ask. The rustling of papers signals the conclusion of his reports. He was the first to move, and she watched as he made his way around the desk before passing her soundlessly through the door, only to give a single order:
“Let’s go.”
“Hai.”

Yasu quickly rose to her feet and followed right behind him. One by one, the members of the Onmitsukido had fallen in line right behind their Captain and Lieutenant. Observing from behind, Yasu could have some idea that Kyomu was deep in his own head. Unsure of the events that he was thinking of, Yasu merely glanced around the premises as their path grew eerily familiar. It wasn’t a road that was taken often, but when it was, she never liked it, and she didn’t doubt that the others behind her felt the same. Despite being a division riddled in secrets and blood, these seemingly soulless individuals still possessed a form of attachment to their peers.
Their Captain was no different.
edc7dd40b9be1edb444d9c50ddd2a5a4.jpg

The graves of their departed glistened in the light of the sun. Hundreds of grave markers lined their path, cleaned and polished to show the care given for the dead. As they come to the largest pillar within the area, Yasu catches the gleam of their reflection against its surface.
“To join the Stealth Force, is to erase yourself..to immerse yourself in shadow, denying even your own existence. To be Onmitsukido is to become a villain, to save the Seireitei from villains.”
Her captain’s voice startles her, and she focuses on his backside.
“To combat the liars, thieves and traitors of the Seireitei and Soul Society, we must lie, steal and cheat in turn.
Yasu reminisces of her time in the Second Division, especially her entry into the Onmitsukido. It was… tough. At times it felt as though she was developing another part of herself that she didn’t recognize when she looked in the mirror. Though she adapted and grew quickly, scarily so. There were unspoken things that she never told anyone and things that only her captain had any idea of since it was he who’d assigned her missions.
Anyone that walked this path knew of those same grievances.
“Today, we stand before all that remains of the greatest liars, cheaters...and thieves that have come through our Division. Today we acknowledge those who the others will never acknowledge, will never remember as fondly as we do — as we should.”
Traitors…
That was what they’d been painted as for all the events in just less than half a year. Many have passed for the efforts for their captain, for their lieutenant, all in the line of duty. Yasu lifts her head and her gaze softens when her Captain’s eyes fall on her momentarily before looking at those behind them.
“Remember.”
Yasu is the first to move, pulling out the sweets that had represented the relationship between her and Kagewaki the best. Before his nameplate, she set the bag of candy down and placed her hands together in prayer. Death was not the end of the line. Each individual in the Soul Society was capable of reincarnation. If the fates had it, then maybe, just maybe they would cross each other’s paths in the next life.
But for now, all they could do was simply remember.

Having caught up with the other Onmitsukido members they set out to make preparations for the funeral of one of their own, the King of Thieves Kagewaki Hōmuru. As preparations were finally in place all that was left was to wait for the Captain and Lieutenant to begin the ceremony. With their arrival Onmitsukido members would part to form two long lines parallel with one another, given the somber atmosphere Ochitsuki chose to look towards the ground, hands placed behind his back as he stood in one of the two lines formed. He did not know Kagewaki personally but he knew of his exploits and how they led to him being recruited into the Second Division. Perhaps this ceremony will allow Ochitsuki to learn more about his fallen comrade as he gives him a silent prayer. His eyes become affixed to a particular crack on the ground, something to focus on and hold his attention amidst the silent gathering. Then it is broken, the silence now replaced with the voice of their Captain.

”To join the Stealth Force, is to erase yourself..to immerse yourself in shadow, denying even your own existence. To be Onmitsukido is to become a villain, to save the Seireitei from villains.”
A twitch of his eyelids is made from the words of his Captain reaching him suddenly. That is the only movement made by the boy as he now tunes his ears to listen and give full attention to Kyomu.
“To combat the liars, thieves and traitors of the Seireitei and Soul Society, we must lie, steal and cheat in turn.”
To be a part of the Second Division is to embody these things, they are more than words and teachings, they are a way of life. Not all are fit to “stoop so low” and as such not all are fit to exist within this division. Morality and regard for other life are things that must be abandoned if it means to successfully carry out your duties. There is no honor in what they must do but it is done regardless and merits such as honor are a far cry from being a second thought, this is how Ochitsuki interprets things.
“Today, we stand before all that remains of the greatest liars, cheaters...and thieves that have come through our Division. Today we acknowledge those who the others will never acknowledge, will never remember as fondly as we do — as we should.”
Being without emotion does not mean he doesn’t understand it as his eyes narrow, not out of any sort of negative response but instead it is a softened gaze. His eyes shift just enough to now see the Captain looking down the row of those gathered to mourn today. Uncharacteristically the boy looks back towards the ground, not wanting to stare as he understands that this is not the time nor place for that. While he can not cry as others might do later on, while he can not give a sad sigh weighted by a heavy heart or have fear of the day he may become a name on one of these headstones he will do what he can to…
”Remember.”
He cannot mourn as those close to the fallen may mourn but he will remember them. Those fallen warriors will live on, immortal, in the memory of Ochitsuki. They lived, fought and died doing their duty as Second Division members and perhaps that is all that is asked for. So long as reincarnation exists the flames of their lives will ride on eternally into the next.

Among the gravel, dust lifts, the air splits, and a pair of feet land belonging to the one and only, Arashi Suta. Assuming he is to be shortly accompanied by Himari, he’d waste little time waiting on her arrival and proceed towards the very gates of HQ. Guards stand poised with authority and equipped with new orders, unbeknownst to the Lieutenant. As they once did before, they would open the gates, recognizing the badge upon his arm and the insignia that represented their Squad.
” Welcome, Lieutenant Suta!”
Their voice sounded in unison, but as he passed the threshold, he stopped and turned back to see if Himari had hurried behind him. However, the orders that were given directly from Captain Oda would impede her chances of ever following him.
” Apologies, all members of 5th Division are not allowed within the Kido Corps. Albeit, Lieutenant Arashi Suta, Captain Tenzen Oda, Head Lieutenant Honoka Oki, and the Captain Commander himself. Orders delivered by Captain Oda himself.”
No doubt that Himari’s face would be filled with disgust and anguish, but it seemed to pose no issue for Arashi, and quickly finds these new orders to be better suited for such a highly sensitive establishment. His smile comes forth, and his focus is clearly on Himari.
” Hold fast Himari. I’ll be back shortly so that you can continue your task.”
With a facial expression of reassurance, though his eyes fail to open before her, the gates close behind him as he turns away. Stepping further within, he is approached by one of the High Priestess arriving from the use of flash-step…
12bff24d9c2d09e5f2c7b3622df6c5b9.png

” Greetings, Lieutenant Suta. How may the Kido Corps assist you today?”
Silence seeps, he says nothing as his head turns from left to right. Seeming to be thinking, rummaging through his thoughts, but in fact, he is searching and picks up on the spiritual presence of his Captain. His attention returns to the patient High Priestess.
” It seems Captain Oda is still here. Where is he exactly?”
” He is currently seeking knowledge within the Kido Archive,”
she replies with zero hesitation.
” Thank you. Also, I am in need of a team that will travel to Rukongai with me to prepare for the investigation. We will be collaborating with the 12th division on the matter. Also, I need the Finger from Hueco Mundo to be prepped for transportation. Its destination is the 12th division for analysis, and then straight to the 1st Division, ordered by Head Lieutenant Oki. I have a member from the 5th Division waiting patiently outside. I will catch up to Captain Oda and inform him of this as well. That is all.”
” Understood, Captain Oda has already requested a team to be prepared and dispatched to the Rukongai and they will be here waiting upon your return, as will the artifact from Hueco Mundo.”

Lieutenant Suta bows out of respect and while she does the same, she vanishes without a trace, swiftly proceeding with the orders given to her by the Grand Kido Chief and the Vice Kido Chief. With that in the works, Arashi proceeds towards the archive to follow behind his Captain and let him know of the God King’s Finger and the situation within Naruki City… He could only remember his time within Squad 13, having gone to the world of the Living countless times. Patrolling, liberating, performing Konso on so many souls, vanquishing so many Hollows only to have nearly fallen to Sword Eater. Back then, he never expected to be where he is today, alive and cursed with hollowfication. No matter how far his thoughts would trail, Arashi finds himself within this massive library and while he stands between rows of spells, both old and new, secret and public, he cups his hands around his mouth.
” Captain Oda, its Lieutenant Suta!”
Knowing well that his spiritual signature is here, and also knowing that Captain Oda was able to feel his own, he found it rather polite to announce himself so that his voice matched the signature he felt. He understood how cautious and prepared Captain Oda can be at times. Always wary, and aware of his own surroundings, looking without actually looking. His hands drop from his face, awaiting the answer back from Captain Oda, be it his approach or his voice alone.

Having time to dig through what seems like endless amounts of documents and pages on various Kido spells he feels as if he is no closer to what he is seeking than when he began. By this point most would begin to get frustrated, go into a fit and toss books and scrolls aside due to said frustration, but not Tenzen. He maintains his composure and though what he is reading are things he already knows and understands about Kido Spells it is still refreshing to revisit this knowledge. Through all his searching he happens upon a document that is a bit more new than the others, though it is roughly close to three hundred years old it is younger than what exists in the hall of knowledge. He begins reading through it, it details recently made spells since the Shattered Dimensions event, a few of Tenzen’s own spells are documented here as well. He ponders on putting this document down, they would not let such forbidden knowledge exist in such an easily accessible way… But what if…
He keeps reading, eyes scanning the pages from left to right until finally reading an all too familiar name Shobatsu Murasaki. No, it cannot be this easy, this simple. Though he is Kido Chief he has never had a reason to venture here, no reason to pour over this information especially since this particular document was made before he held the title. He turns the page, eyes narrowing to show their attentiveness to what is being read and taken into his mind, the details of the spell he reads are exactly as what was described in the Central Forty Six database.
”Perhaps the most powerful Bakudo to ever exist… Seeking knowledge of this Bakudo is punishable by… Death…”
Tenzen pauses for a moment, he understands what he has done by this point his actions have led him down a road that will result in his death should he be caught now. However, he will not stop not when he is so close to finding out the truth behind Shirogane’s rebellion. This knowledge he is about to unveil will finally decide if he will walk the path of the one who gave birth to his literal inner demon.
”Kokuryū Satsujinen (黒竜殺人円, Black Dragon Murder Ring, Viz. “Circle of Murdering Black Dragons”), requires a catalyst, something that belongs or once belonged to the victim in order to be cast. Once cast a pillar of energy erupts from the ground and pierces the victims Hakusui (魄睡, Soul Sleep). Pillar rises… Victim drained of their physical and spiritual energy… Consciousness remains… Why is this forbidden? Why…”
The details of the spell are not important, what is important is the why. Jikanteishi (時間停止, Temporal Stasis; Viz "Time Suspension") is forbidden because it literally halts time, a god like power that is forbidden from being used, perhaps even forbidden in the most dire of situations or times. But so far this spell is nothing fantastical, unique yes but not worthy of being forbidden. But that is when Tenzen reads upon the details that gave it such lofty weight, for one to be executed should they even seek out its knowledge.
”The victim is erased… Entierly… Memories anyone has of them, any action they ever took, and influence. Ultimately erased from reality, from time, altering reality as if they had never existed as if the actions they took never happened…”
Tenzen stands in stunned silence then slowly but surely grits his teeth, the Buddha shows anger and frustration over reading this. All he could think is…
”This is why that bastard betrayed Soul Society!? This is why I’ve become marked by a Hollow’s stench all over this!?”
Perhaps anyone else reading this would understand why it is dangerous, why Shobatsu needs to be stopped or locked away forever, but not Tenzen. This is a man whose Zanpakuto erases matter itself from existence, his Bankai erases people from existence, though it does not do what this spell does. He understands what it means to erase something or someone, it is a burdensome ability, it can upset the balance of souls much like a Quincy should he use it recklessly. The weight of this spell is incredible, should anyone else learn of it they would use it for nefarious means but what of Shirogane? He was a contender for the rank of Captain, surely his Kido prowess must have been high enough to delve into this spell. The Buddha realizes he has not finished reading, his anger blinded him for a moment, an error he won't make again. As he reads on he learns why this spell’s details are so readily available and why Shirogane didn’t use it. No one in Soul Society can cast this spell because the incantation needed lies within the mind of Shobatsu Murasaki, the safest place in all of creation. He closes the document and sets it back on the shelf he took it down from and stands in silence digesting what he has learned.
With the power to alter reality and the flow of time as a whole does make a man dangerous, he need not but cast this spell to change everything for the better or worse. Tenzen looks down at his Zanpakuto, grabbing the hilt of the Katana and ponders the thought of possibly attaining such power through his own Zanpakuto. No, there is no reason to push such limits or boundaries, not while Shobatsu still lives with knowledge of the spell. He lets go of the hilt and wonders what he has learned today, was it worth the risk just to sate curiosity of a treacherous dead man's final words? Yes, because now the echo of that dead man has finally fallen silent and the Buddha will not follow in his footsteps.
” Captain Oda, its Lieutenant Suta!”
Tenzen looks in the direction of his Lieutenant's voice and flickers to his location via Shunpo. With his thirst for knowledge now quenched he can return to his duties as Captain.
”Lt. Suta, what brings you-”
He is interrupted by a Jigokuchō (地獄蝶, Hell Butterfly) fluttering in behind Arashi, Tenzen lifts his right hand so that it may land on his index finger and transfer a rather distressing message… Arrancar are attacking Naruki City. This does not bode well not while such a precious artifact is in transit and in danger of being taken. He looks at Arashi and makes a gesture with his head telling him to follow as he storms out of the archive in a hurry.
”Grand Chief, we received word from Kiku Shunkan about-”
A Priestess catches Tenzen and Arashi as they leave the archive, about to relay the same message to them not knowing Kiku had sent the message out to a wide group of Shinigami.
”I know, prepare a team to go assist him immediately. The objective is to ensure that blood gets to the royal Guard’s palace, the team deployed will help speed things along.”
The Priestess nods then asks a question.
”What about offensive support? What if the Arrancar attack the support team?”
”Already have a plan for that in mind.”

The Jigokuchō, still on his index finger, is used to send a message to the First Division, a request to be specific. Their Denreishinki will be able to pick up this message with no issue.
”This is Captain Oda of the Fifth Division. My Fifth Seat, Kiku Shunkan, is requesting assistance in Naruki due to an Arrancar attack. Due to the importance and vital nature of the package being transported I am requesting permission to head there personally to provide offensive support while another team of Kido Corps members ensure the package makes its way to the destination safely and without error.”
Once done speaking the Jigokuchō flutters off his finger and onto his shoulder, he then halts his stride to turn to his Lieutenant once more to speak to him.
”Whatever orders were given to you in the Lieutenant’s meeting continue to carry them out, without fail. Priestess, have that team meet me at the Senkaimon as soon as possible. If all things go as planned I will have my request granted and this little Arrancar excursion will be put down."
He looks to Arashi again.
"If not be on standby for deployment Lt. Suta should they choose to send you instead of me. I know this may interfere with your duties the Head Lieutenant has given you but this is not something we can so easily ignore. Hollows must not come to possess such an artifact. That is all.”
After those words his form is whisked away into nothingness, using Shunpo to make his way to the Fifth Divisions Barracks to travel through the Senkaimon.

The smell of crisp wind filled Himari’s nose as the Seiretei passed them by. Her eyes kept forward, watching as Arashi moved quickly and with ease before, suddenly they arrived at district one.
Himari only had been to HQ a few times, so her eyes wandered around before suddenly she realized Arashi had moved forward. She was a little excited, having been brought here. Since her last episode, she didn't think she would be doing a mission again alongside Arashi so soon.
She quickly followed after her, her short strides weren't enough to keep up with the lieutenant so she was going at a little jog. The gates would open and they were quickly greeted.
”Welcome, Lieutenant Arashi!”
Well, that stung. They didn't even acknowledge Himari’s presence like she was just a speck of dust. And it hurt her. She would have liked to been acknowledged, at least. But she didn't say anything but kept her head forward, and tried not to let the hurt been seen on her face.
She saw that Arashi stepped forward, so she moved to go as well but suddenly was held back by one of the Kido Corps members
12bff24d9c2d09e5f2c7b3622df6c5b9.png

” Apologies, all members of 5th Division are not allowed within the Kido Corps. Albeit, Lieutenant Arashi Suta, Captain Tenzen Oda, Head Lieutenant Honoka Oki, and the Captain Commander himself. Orders delivered by Captain Oda himself.”
Again, she was hurt. But now she was just angry. Now she was going to have to stand here like some dog waiting on their owner? She couldn't believe this. She was excited to do this, go along. But to hear that even the Captain didn't want her inside stung like others.
She didn't even look at Arashi as he turned to her, she kept her eyes drawn to the ground.
”Hold fast Himari. I'll be back shortly so that you can continue your task.”
She only nodded, not saying anything to him. She heard him walk away and the door close, and she sighed.
Standing there, she felt the worse she has felt in a while. And her failures at that moment smacked her in the face. She would have rathered stayed at the gate with Takashi then deal with this.
