He noticed it, and it was late; he missed the dummy and took a tumble. Every fiber of his being wanted to blast the thing with a kido spell. But that wasn't why they were here. He lay on the ground having the dummy on top of him. He didn't struggle or fight its weight. He merely sat still and gave a sigh. He waited and listened to the instruction as he began cracking his neck. As Komamura-san removed the dummy, he sat up slowly. Koyo stood up; his emotions were hot at this moment. Embarrassment and anger are such a poor showing to this person. But he felt them as small drips of it began to form. Reiryoku began to form around Koyo's body. Causing the air to become hotter and clammy, almost like one had entered a spa.

Standing to his feet, he sheathed his sword, licking his lips and swallowing. Slowly the glow faded from Koyo's frame as he calmed himself down. Koyo could infuse his reiryoku, and he had a lot for his age. But that didn't make his skills any less clumsy. Hakuda, he could measure distance better. But that was from scrapping for so long as a child. He never once got to wield a blade until the academy.

"That was mortifying; I apologize for the outburst. My control isn't all that good with a blade or my energy." He gave a bow to Komamura-san before moving to stand somewhere away from the dummies. Koyo brought his Zanpakuto back to its sheath. Drawing it, performing horizontal cuts only. He could put energy behind it, but controlling the amount was an issue.

Koyo lacked control of his reiryoku output and hadn't gained a mastery of it. Koyo's hair began to move as his eyes began to glow. Drawing upon his stores and releasing his power. Infusing his arms to strengthen his strikes, not forgetting the effect caused to the air. His reiatsu could cause similar effects one would meet inside of a hot spring. Koyo would sheath and draw his blade over and over again. While supplying reiryoku to his body as a whole.

Though inadvertently, it would cause his reiatsu to activate. Generating the heat and steam to come forth around him.

It was hard to stomach, watching Koyo somewhat, for the Komumura… Koyo was roughly the same age as Sanyu, but their skills were like night and day… Sanyu gave a little huff in thought… and watched intriguingly as Koyo shot his energy up from all the anger and embarrassment he felt after getting tackled by a training dummy of all things.

"Just… a question, but… why did you join a combat division, when you aren't very good at it? Koyo, have you studied any Kido techniques or thought about what you were good at first, before what you want to improve on? I'm… just curious. Sometimes it helps to think on this…"

He scratches his head, he was a bit baffled himself as to how this boy would survive out there, in the seireitei let alone the world of the living, where many 10th and 13th division members would meet their demise. Even in Division seven, Sanyu knew that at the boy's level, he'd be a dead kid, because they fought enemies and protected the Rukongai, and even SOMETHING or someone managed to kill a Captain level Shinigami, with enough ease nobody even knew about it until Atsuko, Sanyu, and Shori investigated it.

"It's hard, but control over your emotions and not letting yourself get angry when you make a mistake, is vital too…of course often times one mistake is all it takes… to die."

Koyo paused with his motions now as he sheathed the sword once more. He'd not chosen the Division; the truth was his mother had. Koyo had little say in the matter. She decided where he went, and he merely obeyed. He wasn't really to provide an answer. "In truth, you are right; Zanjutsu isn't an art I'm gifted at. I can perform Hakuda and Kido more capably." He said before walking over to one of the dummies. He lowered his center of gravity and moved in the direction of the dummy.

Upon arriving, Koyo's body channeled the reiryoku once more before he unleashed a spinning kick with his entire body behind him. As his foot landed upon the head of the dummy with the extra spin, he put to it. The thing's head spun around on its shoulders. "My mother forced me to fight adults with swords, only using my bare hands as a child. So hakuda is something of my past that I am familiar with."

Koyo paused for a moment looking at the dummy. He brought his right hand to bear upon it. "As for kido, well, this is my level at the moment. " Koyo inhaled as he began to move his mouth, reciting the incantation of his favorite kido.

"Ye lord! Mask of and flesh, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams, unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado 33 Sokatsui."

A small ignition could be seen from his right hand's palm. Discharging into a wall of blue flames consuming the target hole. Koyo's palm released a volume behind his blast. Slowly his hand lowered down to his side as he glanced at it. He wished to improve and grow, but he wasn't sure he had the talent.

"To be honest, I didn't pick the Division. Even here, I've still not escaped my mother; she chooses Squad 10. "

"well, perhaps in this way we are also Similar. Division Seven was partially a calling to me, for my father's dream was to see the Rukongai he loved become much better… but for me, I want to see the Shinigami who serve it, and the world of the living, become better… I think division three would be better for me in this way as a result. Afterall, I am not Daiki Komamura, I am Sanyu. Just like… you are not your mother, you, are Koyo. And Koyo should think only, about Koyo."

He said, poking the smaller Shinigami's head, then heart with his paws ever so softly.

"My grandpa said, there is nothing outside of yourself, that can make you stronger, richer, quicker or smarter… Seek nothing outside of yourself. I think he got it from… a famous person from the world of the living… Miyamoto Musashi… a Samurai warrior."

Sanyu crossed his arms in thought wondering why they'd not seen any Members of Division three even as of yet, but looked back at Koyo.

"I think it means if you want to become a better person, in any aspect of life, to look upon yourself, because you, and you alone have the power to change that."

He stopped and considered it for once in his life. What did he desire himself? Was he free enough to make that choice? Koyo listened as he felt the pawlike hand push on his head. He smiled a bit under it, not sure what that feeling was. He'd never been given that patting on the head before. So it was an alien experience like many others. He thought now about what he'd been put through. He joined ten because it was what she wanted? What did he want in this life that he'd begun?

"I don't have an answer for that, Komamura-san. I don't know what I want; I never had free will, so it's new. " He said, confirming the level of lockdown he lived in as a boy. But the question of what he wanted to do wasn't straightforward. He could very well stay in Squad 10 and see what Shizuka had in mind. Koyo thought about the thirteen court guards. Which Division most called to his soul?

He glanced at his Zanpakuto and considered the situation more. He didn't care for violence and wasn't one for it. But he fought because it was his duty to do so. At least against hollows, he fought simply to survive until now. Kido and Hakuda were skills he became gifted in, but he also was able to use Hoho. He had some skills that simply weren't up to par. The only way to overcome that was to fight and train.

"I don't know why Vice-Captain Hyouzoku picked me for Fourth Seat out of the academy. But maybe when he returns, I can find out why. "
