The blade fell and in turn, the Captain made his move, and from just moving forward the Captain showed just how powerful he was on a physical level. Tenzen watched and absorbed all of it, that first powerful step covered quite a bit of ground, the Captain had good lower-body strength, it may cause a problem for him later and so he makes a note to disable it as well. However, Tenzen was glad, on the surface, no one could tell but inside he was ecstatic. His Kido Blade was able to hit the ground! He anticipated it being smashed to bits or even knocked away but for it to hit the ground uncontested was a great success in his mind, the first strand for the web of his plan had connected. This put him "ahead of schedule" so to speak, as he assumed it to be crushed by the Captain, he planned around this just enough for multiple variables to take place but landing uncontested was a true shot in the dark. However, now isn't the time to celebrate, no, now is the time to keep the pressure going and speaking of pressure the Captain had to of put his foot down with an insane amount of it to crater the ground itself. At that moment the Captain's Reiatsu would explode and begin to fall down like an ocean upon Tenzen.
Tenzen meditates for two reasons, the first being a method to attain a certain level of peace and relaxation that helps guide his mind and thoughts to a level of enlightened bliss, keeps it free from pointless thoughts and allows him to be the focused individual he is. The second is to control his Reiryoku and keep it in check because only through meditation can his body become relaxed enough to keep it under wraps. Without meditation and when he goes on for too long without it his body becomes tense, stiff shoulders, clenched jaw, and other varying degrees of "stress". But meditation is not the only way for him to relax, the most effective way for him to relax is to. Just. Let. Go. And so he does, he opens up the Void that is his Reiatsu to meet the oncoming ocean and like two phantoms they collide and pass through one another. His jaw relaxes, his shoulders become looser, even his facial expression becomes more relaxed. His mind is still focused and sharp but his body has been freed from the constant control he has to keep on his energy. In his eyes, one would see an empty gaze a look of enlightenment that could be compared to Buddha, a look that shows control over rage and violence, a look that seems to direct said violence directly at Captain Kagayaki. Letting his Reiatsu free it takes shape, multiple arms rise up from behind Tenzen, each hand making a different gesture before the main body rises up and looks in the direction of Captain Kagayaki, a faceless Thousand Arm Buddha.

It's been ages since Tenzen has had to put out this much Reiatsu. Daily duties around the Seireitei and the occasional Hollow hunts in the human world seldom call for this much Reiatsu, he'll have to give the Captain extra thanks for letting him cut loose like this. With the Reiatsu responded to and Captain Kagayaki avoiding the Kido Blade Tenzen readies himself for the Captain's response, now that the landmine has been set off and the battle is in motion Tenzen feels more wiggle room in this fight. Tenzen caught wind of the Reiryoku building in the Captain's right hand, it wasn't as hidden as the first bit of Reiryoku he sensed not too long ago but it seems like it was in the Captain left hand. He dug his bare hand into the ground and began to uproot the terrain itself. Being pulled up against it's will it crackled like thunder in the emptiness of the barren valley, it would be loud enough to drown out any other sound being made in the area if there were any. Once uprooted the dust and dirt followed encasing the chunk of earth and the Captain along with it but from within the dust, Tenzen was able to see quick random flashes of green from within it. During this moment Tenzen's sense of Reiryoku kicked in looking in the direction of the dust he was able to see the Captain Kagayaki's "Form" or rather his silhouette filled with the color of his Reiatsu. He was able to see Captain Kagayaki's green silhouette from a few moments ago and its position was directly behind the chunk of land he uprooted.
"Hadō #57. Daichi Tenyō" (大地転踊, Upturned Earth Dance)
Thrusting his right hand diagonally towards the sky he sends the chunk of earth and the dust sailing into the sky and away from the battle with the Kido and in turn unveiling Captain Kagayaki. His empty gaze landed upon the Captain, he was about to show him that he is more than just a Kido Specialist that he has other talents as well that he should take caution against. His left-hand grips the hilt of his Wakazashi while he combines a "step-in" with his Shunpo. He combines all this the moment the veil is thrown away using Shunpo to close the distance while taking advantage of the Captain's forward momentum at the same time to use his quickdraw technique in an attempt to slash at the Captain's right side collar bone and trapezius muscle. Tenzen's quickdraw technique is one of his more simple yet powerful Zanjutsu techniques where he unsheathes his blade and sheathes it once again all in one motion before the blink of an eye. Like a few of his techniques, he gave it no name, with no call out for it he feels like he can catch more foes off guard with it and this would be the same case here. The purpose of this attach was to injure Captain Kagayaki's right side to remove some of its strength while also getting a start on removing the bandages from his body so that he could better see the muscle movements beneath them. This indeed was a heavy gamble and he may pay a price for it but in order to obtain victory gambles and some sacrifices have to be made. That being said his right hand was primed with Hadō #63. Raikōhō, using his Kido Displacement to hide it within the hand. It would be obvious to sense the dormant Kido in his right hand and he wanted it to be that way because he wanted the Captain to react in a certain way a sort of "pick or choose" situation, the blade or the Kido. Needless to say, the Captain hopeful was quite nervous about this maneuver seeing as he is now stepped into the Captain's range.

Something about it all was invigorating to say the least, fueling the seasoned man to instill him with the fire that burned within his former self. As it stood, Tenzen was hoped to be a formidable opponent, and Higen wouldn’t put anything past him, prepared for the most unpredictable of actions. In his time he’d faced a plethora of warriors all of varying degree, many of them are those that don the vibrant white coats today. It is for this very reason that the man has honed what seems like a simplistic array of brute force and hand-to-hand combat into what is truly a versatile arsenal of tools to deal with the most cumbersome of obstacles.
In stride, one could only stop to awe. Although his body didn’t physically stop, he began to take in the full brunt of his opponent’s spiritual essence, and from its illustrious appearance came a luminous glow, the full shape of a buddha-esque figure that grew to momentous size, radiating throughout the barren wasteland. In a perfect blend of gold and emerald the sky was painted with streaks of their combative energies, mending and folding against each other in spews and flashes of color. In a single moment there was awe, and in the next there was action. The Captain’s focus never wavered, his senses peak as he invested one hundred percent of himself into the current bout. The rupturing of the earth subsided as the chunk flew towards his opponent, the sound of wind bellowing around the scurrying cloud of dust was not enough to hide the strong voice of his adversary.
"Hadō #57. Daichi Tenyō" (大地転踊, Upturned Earth Dance)”
The first word was enough to cause worry, as there were more than enough spells in the destructive category that could seamlessly blast through the rock and take the Captain with it. With a cautious approach, the moment the word “Hado” was said Higen’s left leg created friction with the reishi plate beneath it, his body going into a quick corkscrew directly to his left, his right foot coming to meet a second plate after he finished his rotation. Tenzen had seen a brief display of the Captain’s overall physical speed, without the use of technique or enhancement, and although it could compete with some mid and low tier shunpo users, it still paled in comparison to his own hoho. Using this to his advantage, the moment the right foot made contact with the reishi plate he used it as a fulcrum into a deadly shunpo.
This action was complete by the very last word of Tenzen’s spell, and as he lifted the rock and dust far and beyond, while subsequently using shunpo to close a short gap in an infinitesimal process, disbelief would overwhelm him as the metal ringing from his quick-draw technique would not find the Captain, or anything as its target. The moment Tenzen would be returning his blade to its sheath, Higen emerged from the shadows like a silent wind, a mere foot behind Tenzen’s position. The weight of the ocean grew heavier, the massive man’s presence enough to shake the earth. Briefly his reiatsu peaked like once before, only much more potent. Higen himself became a flashbang, his reiatsu coveting the entirety of the twenty feet or so surrounding them in a blinding light, shattering the senses, limiting all from view momentarily. In a veil of white and green The Shining Captain initiated a horizontal slash across the man’s Lumbar while using his left hand to conduct a violent strike toward the back of the man’s neck all in the milliseconds of his emergence.
There was something off about he neck-strike, it was patient and wanting, as if it wished to changed trajectory in moment’s notice. Neither hand lost its festering reiryoku, but only increased in the amount of energy stored within them ready to be expelled at moment’s notice or used for other skills or techniques. The Captain took note of the Kido that was held within the hand of his opponent, but it hardly mattered had he successfully caught Tenzen off guard, even so, he was prepared for countermeasures even at such a close distance. Had all been successful, The savage strike to Tenzen’s vertebrae would have him immobilized at the waist down, only to couple it with an attack at the back of the neck that will test the full brunt of his durability, driving him down into the dirt with unparalleled force, disorienting the man completely.

Nothing, Tenzen felt nothing from his attempted strike against the Captain, not even the sensation of his blade being deflected. Captain Kagayaki had vanished from sight, where could he have gone? Tenzen's quickdraw happened so quickly he barely has time to think about the Captain's position or sense it out by the time it returned to its sheath. With a *Click* the blade is sheathed and with that sound came the increased weight of the ocean bearing down upon him. Not in front or in his peripheral's, so, behind? That's the only conclusion Tenzen had time to figure out, he wasn't even sure what angle the Captain was at or if he was even behind him at all. For what he knew he could be attacked at long range by a spell. Not in front or in his peripheral's, this thought was on repeat but it was not because of panic that is was on repeat it was because it was all he had to go on, for that moment. The Captain's Reiatsu peaked, more potent than it was before and creeping up on Tenzen's peripheral's was a blinding light. The barren wasteland he was once able to see began to fade, no cause for worry because he has seen this before. The Captain did something similar when he fought against the Kototsu and even during that time Tenzen adverted his eyes. Not in front but behind, this info was confirmed, had the Captain been part of Onmitsukidō Tenzen would probably be out of commission at this point. White and green light began to fill his eyes as he closed them as tight as he could, the light shining bright enough for him to see the capillaries in his eyelids. Not in front, but behind. It was time to gamble on that thought, though Tenzen didn't fully anticipate the speed of the Captain's strikes or even knew what sort of strike it was going to be.
The sound of Tenzen's Shihakushō tearing was the only evident sound that could be made out during this instantaneous moment. The light had enveloped a twenty-foot area obscuring it all from sight and so the moves made within it would only be known to the two warriors within it. Tenzen would emerge from the light, a trail of blood flowing from his lower back and a reddened neck, the attacks found their mark but not as heavily as intended. Utsusemi, the only Hohō technique Tenzen knows. He typically likes to stay in his targets blind spots, staying behind them or positioning himself at a favorable angle to strike but up against a Captain, there is no way that tactic will work for more than a moment. That moment was just spent saving himself from a debilitating attack. Mentally Tenzen was fine, being cut, punched, burned, etc. it's all part of being a Shinigami, a warrior, but physically he needed to calm himself. Having gained some distance he used his right hand to rub the back of his neck, it was sore and swollen, this would limit his head movement for sure. He could force himself to look left or right but it would only agitate it and further limit his head movements. His hand moves to his lower back, the cut is deep but the bone has been spared. In his quest to physically handicap the Captain he himself has been hobbled to some degree, he almost wants to let out a sensible chuckle at the irony of it all but holds it in. That said the next strand of the web he was trying to put down failed, but that is fine, he can still work with what he's got. The Captain is heavy-handed, info he already had but with the swelling lump on the back of his neck, he can understand just how heavy-handed he is. Deception, speed, hidden trickery, these things won't work.
Fight fire with fire perhaps? He just might have to, even if only for a moment. His eyes were still closed when he aimed his right hand towards the sky and fired Raikōhō into it discarding the spell, he was setting up for something. He withdrew his arms into his Shihakushō and brought them out the front of it, letting the top fall and act as a sort of waistcloth. People all build muscles for various reasons, speed, strength, endurance, and Tenzen is no exception to this. One look at Tenzen's physique could tell any seasoned warrior that his body was honed for battle. Equal across the board in terms of speed, strength, and endurance Tenzen made sure to build his physique to suit his needs as a Kido specialist showing that he is more than just some simple spellcaster. He speaks, candidly for the first time since the fight began. His awkwardness for social situations shining through as he tries to make sure not to say anything that would give away what he was planning.
"C... Captain Kagayaki. How about a... Test of strength?"
For a moment Tenzen wanted to try to appeal to him by saying something more "manly" or "macho" but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He would have rather Captain Kagayaki's attack land 100% than saying something he would consider to be embarrassing or even too telling. That said one has to wonder how long it would take to reach Captain Kagayaki's level of strength. Would it take years? Decades? Centuries? If Tenzen tried to uproot the ground the way the Captain did he would probably only be able to dig up a chunk big enough to fill the palm of his hand if not less. So to go from that to a slab that is twelve feet long and eight feet wide one has to wonder how much strength training is needed. But for Tenzen, he is about to reach that level of strength in an instant with God Hand. The Captain's Reiatsu is still pouring down meaning he'll be burned by it while this technique is active, coupled with his own Reiatsu that'll be needed to keep it at bay the level of burns he'll receive will jump dramatically if he isn't too careful. He'll have to go on the offensive 100% of the way, his hits HAVE to land if he does this. His hands clasp together as if he is about to begin prayer and at that moment his Reiryoku starts to focus 100% on physical enhancement. Then with a small, not as blinding, light show of his own he is engulfed in a golden light and as it fades a golden aura sines around his body, like light itself radiates from him. But now he feels it, the burning of the Reiatsu in the air, he uses his best poker face to hide it because this burning is irrelevant.
God Hand Theme
828ca1aea15131b0b312137329e087e3.png

Tenzen takes note of his aura, he's lost some stamina and those wounds aren't making it any better. He could probably only make about five moves before deactivating God Hand and keeping his stamina in a good state to continue the fight. But it's fine his plan remains unchanged. If the Captain had turned around to listen to what he was awkwardly trying to say and witness the activation of his technique or not Tenzen would show him exactly what God Hand does for him. He flickers away instantly and appears before Captain Kagayaki, without making a single movement he had moved from his previous spot with only kicked up dust remaining. His Shunpo now far exceeded what it originally was, encroaching on the speed that is typically only seen by Master Shunpo practitioners. However, that Shunpo cost him one of his five moves, four remaining. His eyes are still closed, not sure if the blinding light is still active or not and so he uses his sense of Reiryoku to be his eyes. The imposing emerald form of the Captain was right before him, like a mighty wall. Trickery wouldn't work and so when he closed the gap he didn't use that opportunity to strike the Captain. A test of strength is what he asked for and he hoped the Captain would oblige him. He reels back as if he were a Discus thrower his left foot sliding back to properly balance himself while the back of his right-hand reaches back toward the back of his left heel. His eyes would twinge with blood spurting out of his lower back wound, sending pain coursing through his body while possibly making the wound worse. He fights through it, he has to. Like a stuck gear releasing the tension, he unwinds viciously with an unconventional haymaker aimed for the left side of Captain Kagayaki's chin. Even if blocked the shockwave released from the punch would still fly, a shockwave that is strong enough to gouge out sections of the ground. With this haymaker, this would leave Tenzen with three moves left before he would have to disable God Hand.

There was a tense feeling in the muscles of both hands just as both his strikes made contact. And although the firmness that was often a welcome sight when striking an opponent was quick and fleeting, there was less strength in its recoil. He’d known exactly how much force he placed into both the strike and the slash, and this was clearly less-of. There was a moment where he couldn’t feel the weight of his hand against Tenzen’s flesh, and then another where he couldn’t see his figure at all. Shunpo? Must had been. Did he move as fast as possible to lessen the magnitude of the Captain’s attacks? A moment of verification came up shortly after. His eyes briefly peering downward to confirm that rivers of blood ran downstream along the steel surface of his blade. Blotches and drops were scattered about in random places in front of him, leading to what came to be Tenzen, some distance away, leaking from his lower back. His reiatsu calmed momentarily, still stirring about but in a less volatile form than before, radiating in a flame-like consistency around his body.
Higen observed, still weighing the gravity of this exchange of blows. Or could he hardly call it an exchange. His eyes locked onto his target and looked him from head to toe, seeing the extent of the damage he applied while mentally noting how much worse he could have.. or should have been. He wouldn’t get that close again. Stick to your tricks. He thought, knowing that few survived when entering the Shining Captain’s domain, and he would not be the talk of the Seireitei for an accident here. Even still, his battle awareness was pristine, never losing sight of the mysterious blade that had been conjured earlier, still lodged into the dirt closer to Tenzen than to Higen. Each fluctuation of muscle, each twitch of the eye came into the Captain’s scope, maintaining peak awareness against his opponent. There was silence, and then in his state of absolute focus Higen noticed the parting of Tenzen’s lips.
”C... Captain Kagayaki. How about a... Test of strength?"
A test of strength? Was he serious? Was this a game to him? From the start it has been a test of strength, a test of blood. He has been being tested and will continue to be tested until Higen, his proctor, decides that he has seen enough. What was the point of his invitation? Had he not learned? Did he truly want to exchange blows with a titan? Nevertheless Higen would not respond, there was no need. Holding his zanpakuto back-handed he brings both hands up to his face like a seasoned boxer, his stance loose and nimble. Tenzen began to emit a similar aura as before but with less shape, seemingly just gleaming with his body as the epicenter like a distant star. No doubt, he was ready to come at the Captain once more, for this he was prepared. Since the beginning of their fight reiryoku was being cooked, cultivated into Higen’s hands like gunpowder in a bomb, ready to be unleashed with increasing ferocity as each moment passed. Fights with small, sneaky adversaries like Kyomu and Young Maho help polish timing and patience when going against a more limber opponent, a skill that Higen has come to master.
Then the moment came, Tenzen was there, and then he was not. The moment he vanished the Captain’s lips separated to mutter a single word, a word that would be the catalyst for the participant’s demise. A word those close to Higen knew he was all too familiar with. He was no Kido master, only able to learn a handful of spells all under a similar umbrella, but when it came to those spells he had mastered their individual usages, and surpassed what it takes to use them efficiently. This would be to his opponent’s surprise, weighing the Captain as a brute, no doubt; ready for his “test of strength”. The elderly man with locks of green had no interest in playing silly games, and would further enforce the fact that not drawing your blade against someone of Higen’s caliber is both an insult and a death sentence.
”Seki.”
A whisper, so quiet, hardly distinguishable in the thick of things, it wouldn’t even catch wind during Tenzen’s invisible stride. The moment Tenzen appeared before Higen there was a massive blue orb hovering just over the back of his left hand, the size of his head, at least. There was patience, waiting to make sure that there were no surprises in store from his opponent, and when it was entirely too late for Tenzen to turn back, rear his punch a different direction, or anything of the sort, Higen shifted the posture of his hand to put the orb, and his hand, just by his chin in the path of Tenzen’s strike. This was no ordinary seki, its strength magnified by the amount of reiryoku that had been humming within his hand awaiting the spell’s usage. The strike would meet the barrier-orb, that carried the repulsive force to send Tenzen back hundreds of yards, but this wouldn’t get to happen. What followed next took place in a singular consecutive instant; as Tenzen would begin to be sent hurling back almost completely out of the Captain’s view the blue orb would fade, and as it did, the hand that was formerly its host became free. Reaching forward relentlessly, Higen would wrap said hand around the wrist of Tenzen’s striking hand, grasping it tightly and pulling backward. This, combined with the force of the Seki would not only hold Tenzen in place, but cause such a rupturing force because of the opposing velocities, ripping his right arm from socket. Now held in place, in the same moment Higen’s right arm reached to lodge the sharp blade of his zanpakuto into the joint of Tenzen’s left shoulder, disabling his ability to counter attack with it during this trade.
There was a shockwave still, one from the Captain’s power and another from his adversaries, the earth sending shards and splinters flying upward in a sharp rain. There was little room for error in such a methodical and well-devised usage of kido from the titanic Captain, and even less room for escape for his victim. If successful, the sound of bone crunching and dislodging would echo throughout as the sight of blood would be welcomed again, Tenzen, more than likely, would be unable to continue and feel excruciating pain under Higen’s might. Or.. would he choose to fight him without the usage of either of his arms? A brave notion.. but in the end.. it wasn’t recommended.

Lashing out at the Captain with his bizarre haymaker proved to be a mistake, once again proving that getting in close to the Captain is a fatal error. But why? Why did Tenzen close the gap for the second time if he knew that getting close could mean the end of this fight within an instant? It was in an effort to make Captain Kagayaki attack or counter him and send him flying away, he wanted to involuntarily be sent away by the Captain. The quick-draw attack and now this haymaker both were used in an effort to be sent flying away so he could have time to cast another spell midflight but it doesn't seem like the Captain would allow it. Raising up from the ground the punch came with enough fury to knock down lesser foes with ease, but Captain Kagayaki is no lesser foe he is a titan, one with years of experience that trumps Tenzen's experience ten times over. As his fist flew Tenzen's senses picked up on something new, a Kido spell. On the Emerald form of Captain Kagayaki, there was a large blue orb hovering over his left hand.
"Is that... Seki!?"
He says to himself as his fist makes contact with it. His face stiffens like a statue as if he were bracing for impact, his breathing even seems to stop and for a moment his body begins to steam heavily before making contact with the blue orb. The spell triggers and the steam is blown away with Tenzen along with it only for him to be snatched up by Captain Kagayaki, yanking him back. Popping and cracking could be heard from the arm of Tenzen then came the blade being stabbed into his shoulder to disable his left arm. Blood did not spurt out of the wound and his face remained still, not reacting the pain one bit. Shockwaves still erupted, reshaping the land around the two combatants, Tenzen remaining idle, expressionless, his chest not rising for air as if shock halted his breathing with both arms destroyed. Cracking could be heard once more, echoing in the barren land with the shape of Tenzen slowly cracking and crumbling in the hands of Captain Kagayaki. Then next to his Kido blade stood Tenzen, his body red and covered with 2nd-degree burns, his God Hand disabled.
"Honzon." (Lit. principal image of Buddha)
He says trying to catch his breath, not due to the stamina drain but fear. He has never once felt a fear like this before, even going up against Hollows with varying abilities. Honzon combines Shunpo and Kido to create a physical afterimage that can be interacted with, however, the afterimage is not perfect. It retains zero facial expression, doesn't breath, and does not bleed. While it is capable of basic movement and combat even a 5th seat can best it but its purpose is used as a distraction and a method of escape for Tenzen. When casting it he used God Hand to reinforce himself defensively to spare himself of some of the pain he was about to feel when redirecting his Reiryoku, which used up one of his three remaining moves. With two moves left he used his enhanced state to Shunpo away from his current position and leave the "Kido Clone" in his place to receive the hellacious punishment Captain Kagayaki dished out. Witnessing this was enough to send chills down his spine and even with 2nd-degree burns, he could feel the chills clearly. He calms his heart the best he can, the burns haven't blistered yet so he can still move just fine, that fear sent adrenaline coursing through his veins so he can even ignore the pain for the time being. No more, he thought to himself. This was not the thought of surrender but abandonment, his plan isn't going to work. Nothing was going the way he wanted it to aside for his Kido Blade landing, perhaps that success blinded him in some way? Made him think that the rest of his plan would work out fine? Foolish, this is what he thought as his hand gripped both hilts of his Zanpakuto and began to draw them. Such planning can get him maimed or killed and now here he is, unable to turn his head left or right a seared cut on his lower back and covered in burns. Foolish.
"Open sky falls mute and the empty sky screams, closed void stands to speak and the full void is silent. Kokūzō." 空蔵 (Lit. 空=Space, Sky; 蔵=Repository)
His Wakizashi dissipates into a golden light and reforms itself into a chain wrapping around his left arm that drapes down and around his back connecting to the pommel of his Katana that has reshaped itself into the form of a Nodachi. From the blade of the Nodachi golden mist begins to fall, vanishing completely before touching the ground. The mist rises up and forms a sort of umbrella over him, shielding him from the Captain's downpour of Reiatsu, letting him relax a bit more. Shielding him wouldn't be the correct way to phrase it, Kokūzō was erasing that Reiatsu from existence. Perhaps it was too late in the game to stage a comeback, maybe it was too late to make up a new plan- no. No more making up plans before anything has even happened, it won't work, things won't always go the way they need to. So, instead, Tenzen will fight without a predetermined plan and only capitalize on things that have happened and as it stands the Captain is unharmed. With a single thought from Tenzen, the Kido Blade rises out of the ground and hovers horizontally behind Tenzen, it's cloth grip tapering off of the hilt flutters in the wind. Foolish, of all the things he could have done- no, irrelevant. This has stirred Tenzen up pretty good, enough to make his thoughts run rampant and not die down. He decides to move, using his actions to kill these thoughts. He needs to become a captain, he needs this in an effort to reform Division 5 and the Kido Corps as a whole to be more beneficial to the Seiretei and Soul Society rather than simple barrier menders and Senkaimon gatekeepers. He needs this to make his Division into a military force capable of protecting the Soul Society and sending its enemies into oblivion. He was able to get this far with his skill so why can't it take him further? Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Form is not other than emptiness, emptiness is not other than form. It can take him further.
He swings his blade diagonally in the air from bottom left to top right sending a crescent-shaped wave of his golden mist at Captain Kagayaki. The bottom of this wave did not simply drag against the ground, it erased it, none of its momentum would be lost. Honestly, this mist would do nothing more than erase the Captain's bandages and clothes, although the Zanpakuto makes an effort not to erase clothing unless it is obstructing something. But with the Captain not knowing what his Zanpakuto can do that fact remains unknown to him.
"Dankū"
Tenzen whispers under his breath, casting the spell but it doesn't appear, no he hides it on his back. Should the captain attack from behind again he would have a proper response for it. The Kido Blade moves to his left, the tip of the massive blade facing forwards towards the Captain. His right arm relaxes his grip on his Zanpakuto, a tight grip on a blade will do him no favors it needs to flow cleanly in order to cut cleanly if need be. He knows he can only get close one last time, that last time will make up for all the damage he has taken up to this point, he'll have to play cat and mouse until he spots an opportunity where he can use his Bankai. Counters and preparations are all he can make now as he awaits Captain Kagayaki to make the next move.
