Hell. A plane of existence for beings that should not be reincarnated. It is in that place that the beings named Togabitos are imprisoned. Sword Eater, the Togabito currently existing within Karakura, is currently attacking a lone Shinigami - his name is Shinjitsu Kyo.
Through belief that his former colleague, Lieutenant Omoni, would stand by his side and the plan he had exclaimed at the start, he had mistakenly dived deep into the enemy. An action that would prove to be a mistake. But not something that would actually kill him. At least not yet. Not with the actions taken until now, nor with the actions Kyo took.
Fire. Heat. A concept that is capable of doing two important things that factor in how Kyo has survived. It is true that Kyo’s body has been charred. It is true that Kyo is currently missing half of his body. All that is true. But it is also true that Kyo is still alive and standing. How you may ask.
It all stems from the aforementioned two factors.
Factor one is the fact that Kyo’s blood - a liquid - that leaves his body from the wounds that appeared upon him the very first moment that Kyo was trapped within Omoni’s action of trying to save Kyo. Whether correct as an action, or wrong, that is unsure. Actions of the past are to be reflected only by the winners of the present in the future.
And so, Kyo’s body - boiled alive within that prison - had its skin leave, his clothing burned and he kept going. He smashed through the Empres’ and towards the Togabito itself. His limiters had melted upon his body as well - their liquid metal burning him deeply. And yet Kyo still stood.
Kyo was ready to face the Togabito in close quarters. And yet, this did not occur. The Togabito itself just left - its focus was on the Quincy female. Kyo found himself in a mistake after mistake that led to the situation he is currently at.
His body cut in two. His Zanpakut also bitten and violated. His actions had been a mistake. Whether the mistake was fully on Kyo, or a combination of everyone’s actions that is completely irrelevant.
But Kyo is still alive.
The moment his body was cut in two - provided someone could watch what happened, due to how fast this went, even faster than the cut itself - they would see the two factors that allowed Kyo’s survival.
His blood would evaporate. The evaporation itself assisted his body - as it drastically cooled it for but a singular moment - and that created a ”film” around him that was immediately burned. This ”film” around Kyo’s body made it so that his body charred.
And that is how Kyo survived.
Unlike being continuously burned, the ”films” themselves assured Kyo’s survival by forcibly creating charred areas - that while they can be said to be fourth and higher degree burns - they also create a protective sphere so that his body doesn’t burn anymore. Would it heat up? Yes. But would it end up burnt even more? Only if the flames that produce such heat reach Kyo himself and start burning him alive.
And Kyo’s eyes - still focused on one important thing - the enemy, continue forth. His eyes now look at his enemy. And what exists between the two. The chains.
Kyo’s Reiatsu is still bottled up within him. That fact does not change. It is not yet the time for it to activate. His Zanpakutō is broken. Kyo is seen as to be in his last moments. It is both true and false. It all depends on the actions this Togabito will take in the future. And the actions of Kyo, his speed assuring his survival for now, as the chains are still quite away from him.
And then. A glimmer of hope.
Omoni’s Empress’ finally does its work. The Togabito is thrown off and so is Kyo’s trajectory. He avoids the chains. For now. Kyo keeps on being pulled towards the Togabito. Towards Sword Eater. His eyes are able to see how the thunder falls upon Sword Eater and how it continuous forth. He could have stopped it if he used his Reiatsu. He could. He doesn’t. He trusts on the former colleague named Omoni. Their past is a great example of the trust he places on her. Whether that is mirrored or not, is unknown. What is sure though, is that Kyo is still alive. His trajectory has changed and has avoided the chains.
And Kyo’s eyes fall upon his weapon. It is true it was bitten. Yes. It also true that Sword Eater is able to use the abilities of what he bites. Sadly for Sword Eater, he would need to define a part of its body - or use a defined medium - to be used as the point from which the Voids can be activated. Alas, for Sword Eater, the Zanpakutō of Kyo’s is a two bladed sword. It is - probably - the only weapon that is capable of harming its user and itself. Its ability that is.
And so, Kyo’s eyes fall upon the broken blade.
The blade itself is Hollow within. Empty. One would question how Kyo is capable of unleashing powerful attacks - especially if they held the weapon, its weight being quite a lot. The answer is simple. The blade within it houses the power that allows Kyo to create the Voids. It houses a Void within it. And Kyo smiles. Whether he is able to reach the Togabito and act on the plan he had in mind or not depends on what it will do.
But for now, Kyo is still alive.

From Central Seireitei
Light swaddles the duo as they enter the Senkaimon. The Jigokuchō that leads them through flutters weightlessly before them, being the only silhouette visible within the blinding light. With no visible signs save for the butterfly and no sounds to tune into, the Shinigami are at the mercy of the hell butterfly and in the midst of this silence, the young Captain seizes this time to reflect and strategize. Perhaps the best plan of action would be Shoumetsu’s prior suggestion. As the two of them knew virtually nothing about their opponent aside from what it was, the smartest approach would be to play it safe and scope out their surroundings unless they wished to rush into the same fate of those they were sent to save.
Yū’s mind drifts from Shoumetsu’s and his own well-being, now settling on the unknown fate of his lieutenant. It seemed no matter how close they were to reuniting after all these months, fate was dead set on diverging their paths with no chances of ever crossing. He was sure he would see her soon enough once she returned to the Seireitei for Yū had no doubts she would reign supreme, decimating whatever it was that stood before her. It was just in her very nature. It was her heated temperament that made her such an outlier when compared to her own division and truthfully, most of the Soul Society in general. It is because of her violent essence and unbreakable will that she is simultaneously one of the strongest Shinigami living, perhaps second only to the Captain Commander, as well as a viable contender for the title of Kenpachi. Essentially, it is all these factors combined that allow Yū’s anxiety-ridden mind to not worry much about her well-being. On cue of his assertive confidence, his neck suddenly straightens to its full length with his head thrusting upwards fiercely as if in shock. Concurrently, it is these factors that allow his untold concerns and unknown unease to all finally click into place.
“She’s not going to stop... ” his voice echoes from within, coming to a staunch realization. In any other case, Yū would easily attribute this to her brutal personality and brush it off as he always does, knowing regardless that his battle-hardened lieutenant will always come out victorious. However, this matter is on a different scale entirely; Her orders no longer come as requests for backup from other divisions or as assigned missions from her timid Captain. These orders come from the Commander himself and as far as the two of them believe, defying his orders would lead to them both facing harsh reprimanding in some fashion which either of them would rather not explore. Yet with Omoni’s original task being to oversee Lieutenant Ueku’s recovery, she has inadvertently involved herself in a battle she never should have fought in. Without question, her surging bloodlust would overtake her and nothing as paltry as a mere text message would be enough to pull her out of it. He doubts even his own word would be potent enough to seep through her thick skull… but as of now, there’s no hope or chance or expectation of Omoni’s return without him pulling her out by force. With fear of his lieutenant potentially losing her life, not at the hands of her adversary, but the hands of a slighted Commander, Yū is at a crossroads. Even mere moments ago, the young Captain has caught himself falling for the same mistakes, wasting his time strategizing on how best to confront this enemy… while he forgets about his division’s role– more specifically, his own role in all of this. If even the light-hearted Captain Nakamoto, despite his fresh scorn, lost sight of his objective and real purpose in the throes of battle, Yū ultimately knew his own lieutenant would be wholly unable to pull herself out.
“Change of plans. We’re going to Karakura Town first,” Yū announces loud enough for Shoumetsu behind him to hear. He wastes no further moments to clarify, as every passing second is another second Lieutenant Hageshi spends defying orders. With haste, he draws his zanpakuto and grips tightly on Ichikō’s hilt. Yū raises his blade directly in front of him, its tip facing outwards. His eyes forcefully shut as his grip on the zanpakutō tightens, his veins bulging from his skin in a display of tension. While nothing shifts as of yet outwardly, the young Captain attempts to visualize his destination– it no longer being Naruki City, but now Karakura Town. Renowned for his kidō talent as well as holding firsthand experience of managing the usage of Senkaimon during his long stint in the Fifth Division, Yū is more than familiar with opening a Senkaimon yet changing its path mid-usage… that was something he had never attempted before. But, with a situation as diresome as this… it was truly in every sense of the phrase: life or death.
“Unlock!” he declares confidently, twisting his wrist leftwards now with Ichikō turning like a key. The Jigokuchō, once fluttering before them, now rests gently on his blade; Then, the light before them distorts briefly, shades of innumerable colors swirling inwards like a vortex with Yū’s zanpakuto at its core. Yet as quickly as they appear, they easily dissipate back into the light. The light before them splits into two, parting to reveal what is assumed to be the Human World. Yū is sure he is successful in his tampering with the Senkaimon as he can already sense his lieutenant’s presence straight ahead. Confident that he will be greeted by Karakura Town’s blue skies, he takes a single step through the wooden doorways, well-prepared to retrieve his lieutenant out of whatever ordeal she is putting her opponent through for her to fulfill her true mission. However, once the Jigokuchō finally exits the Senkaimon with Yū in tow, the light slinks behind him, revealing Karakura Town and yet...

… This is not the Karakura Town he envisioned. The blue skies he recollects are now shrouded in darkness, grey clouds hanging heavy over all their heads. What he sees is catastrophic: Destruction litters the town and the asphalt that once formed their roads, shifts like magma. Azure flames that had expelled from Omoni’s zanpakutō paint the dark city in a vibrant glow of blue. What he feels is overwhelming: Indescribable heat washes over him the instant he exits the Senkaimon, no doubt the source being the hellish portal this creature had traversed through. What he senses is disturbing: Numerous signatures are instantly noted, two of them aside from Omoni being undeniably familiar- these of course, belonging to Katsuo Oda and Oyama Hoshi. The others he is unfamiliar with yet he is aware of, are distinctly different to Shinigami, most likely belonging to either Quincy or Fullbringers. In either scenario, the Captain pays no mind as in a situation as dire as this, it was evident each party would need all the help they could get to best this intruder. The last signature reads as the weakest, belonging to Shinjitsu Kyo who had unbeknownst to the Captain been bi-sected and burned alive. Yet, he can tell his life hangs by a single thread, as the doctor can perceive the literal life leaving from the Shinigami’s body. Yet all at once, his attention is drawn back to directly in front of him where he watches his lieutenant’s dire mistake. Yū is too far away to make it in time to intervene and truthfully, he underestimates himself enough to where he believes he could even force his way through her formidable cyclone.
“OMONI!!! PULL BACK!!!” Yū desperately clamors at the top of his lungs. Despite his thunderous pleas, Omoni is already in too deep as the radiant bolt of lightning surges through her and Namakizu. While she is assumed to be the one paralyzed, it is Yū who is frozen in place momentarily. The Captain wishes to move, but his muscles fail him. Uncharacteristic of him, it takes everything–- every ounce of willpower to stop himself from entering the cataclysmic whirlpool Omoni birthed in an attempt to rescue her. While he desperately wishes to intervene, he can't continue to ignore the sensing of Shinjitsu at the brink and the Humans that once stood proud making their swift retreat. If Yū doesn’t act now, the 13th division Shinigami would die on this field, on this day, and he refused to let his emotions continue to get the best of him every single time. His lieutenant would have no choice but to fend for herself in the current moment and perhaps, that would be her punishment for her proven foolhardiness. It would be a hard pill for Captain Nakamoto to swallow, but any more hesitation on his part would flood into more time wasted. Now with a clear head does the Captain of the Fourth Division begin to do what he does best.

“Let light rise and demons fall… Ichikō,” Yū mutters, his zanpakutō dissipating into light from his grip. Simultaneous with his release, reiryoku sprouts from his back and shifts into an iridescent hue, forming a pair of broad and gleaming wings. The light assumes its natural form, as blue butterflies swirl around its counterpart. Without further command, they disperse in search of weakened reiatsu sources now hastily fluttering through the battle-weary town to the top-halved body of Shinjitsu Kyo. Upon reaching wherever his torso and head laid, the butterflies would be quick at work, expelling silk from their forms to cocoon him hurriedly while simultaneously feeding reiryoku into the incinerated man in an effort to begin to regrow his skin. The ordeal regarding his lower half would have to be dealt with most likely back at the relief station, but at least in this state, he could rest protected and fall into stasis until the Captain could properly administer aid to him. While the butterflies attend to Shinjitsu, Yū has already diverged from this path but not before alerting Shoumetsu. “Stay with me,” Yū orders of his supposed bodyguard before instantly diving straight toward the lonesome Katsuo and Oyama. It takes him virtually no time to reach them, pulling back upwards as he sharply halts just behind them. Yū hovers a couple feet above the duo, before boldly addressing them.

“NNGGGGHHHHKKKKK!!!!”
The clap of the vicious bolt making contact with Lieutenant Hageshi was so great that it could have deafened those around her. As it’s electricity coursed through her frame, the lights on the street that had not yet been destroyed began to flicker on and off madly. To her momentary dismay, she realized her hands were fastened upon her Zanpakuto. In fact, the physician noticed each and every muscle in her body had seized up while she endured the horror that was the Steele Schneider. Each cell in her body, each nerve ending screamed out from being assaulted but the woman uttered little more than a strangled grunt. Perhaps that was because the amount of power ravaging her form was so much that she was incapable of vocalizing any other way by locking her jaws together. At this point, anyone should have expected the woman to collapse and yet...those jaws pried themselves apart defiantly.
3ac1a3a2791657a3f7feec85747c42df.png

“HRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
As the atrocious vortex roared with it’s mother, the earth around them erupted violently in response to a monstrous amount of spiritual power now wildly radiating from Hageshi. Immediately, reparation flushed throughout her. It mended just as quickly as the damage was dealt essentially matching and overcoming each wound. Every ounce of her should have been entirely immobilized so why then did her soul appear to fight back with a venomous vengeance and will her to move?! Why was it that with every passing millisecond, her power grew stronger than it had been presented before and showed no signs of depletion? There was a simple answer. Omoni Hageshi was built differently than any other being on the field, possibly in the entirety of the Soul Society. She was no stranger to making mistakes. In most cases, that woman could not get through a single encounter without messing something up. The truth of the matter was that in all of those instances the consequences of her immense ignorance were not enough to take Omoni down. The whisper of a cease and desist forged from her rapturous brain was quickly drowned out.
“OMONI!!! PULL BACK!!!”
Where was that level of surrender, what was the limit?! Omoni Hageshi had not found one yet.
The medic’s inexplicable will was so potent that she had pushed herself for nearly nine-hundred years trying to find it and had failed thus far. Pain made her stronger. Anguish provided speed. There was no fear for herself in the heart of this woman which in turn made it relatively easy for her to unleash proverbial hell with no hesitation or reservation. This kind of indomitable resolve resulted in gruesome tactics and so many who had faced her in battle over the millenia were brought to their knees because of the fact that the longer one fought with Omoni, the more impossible it was to kill her. No one’s spirit could outmatch her own in terms of determination once she was put in a position where there were others to protect and the opponent might be a little more detrimental than she was accustomed to. The gloves were off, the bell had sounded and Omoni Hageshi was not just going to sit and wait to be pulverized. SHE did the pulverizing! The desire to feel more of that adrenaline drove Hageshi to continue moving. The unrelenting craving for pain that she could latch onto without pause boiled her blood and summoned a disturbing grin onto her face. Now, she wanted to fight. Now it was about more than rescuing Shinigami from the clutches of the sinner. NOW she desperately needed to clash with the creature and see how much agony he could give her. Now...she was far more dangerous than before. The voice swirling inside of her brain wouldn’t deter her.
All at once before the chains could trap her, Namakizu fashioned itself as a sort of shell. It’s sides held firmly around her and grew a small mass of tentacles that snapped out ferociously in an attempt to knock the chains away and keep them from lashing themselves around her. The force from her rapidly rising Reiryoku and chaotic Reiatsu clashing with point blank Hell chains caused the ground a few inches at her back to explode because it was unable to withstand the amount of force exerted between the two of them. Simultaneously, Namakizu molded itself in front of it’s wielder like a shield which met and obliterated the arrows head on while also stretching so that it supported her feet. Finally, four spines sprouted below them acting as elongated ‘legs’. This was to rip the Lieutenant out of harm's way and provide a speedy retreat at least fifteen feet above the molten ground and away from the Quincy’s devised arrowhead and by extension the Togabito who appeared to back off as well. From the looks of things the Quincy had all just about disappeared. It was a shame because if she was honest with herself, they had been nothing but help during the fight. They had worked together in tandem and provided somewhat of a support for one another. One of the more taboo of subjects in the Soul Society was the discussion about whether Quincy deserved to be eradicated or left alone to their own devices. An idiotic arguement as far as Omoni was concerned. That woman had taken many a less than legal trip to the World of the Living more than a few times in her lifetime and not once had a Quincy done anything to accost her. They knew they were there and usually let her handle whatever business she had going on. A lot of them didn’t even know who she was because she hadn’t been in the human world very often since joining the fourth division as it’s Lieutenant.
BZZ BZZ BZZ
Everything going on had taken Omoni’s complete attention. The Lieutenant felt the vibrations from her Denreishiki but had no intention of checking to see why or who might be trying to get a hold of her. How long had it been sounding it’s voiceless siren before Hageshi registered it had been buzzing? Whoever was on the other line must have surely been frustrated by now.
It wasn’t until she heard a familiar voice cry out above the destruction that she turned her mind to the asphalt below. Instantly, she spotted the face she had hoped the call belonged to and it transformed that unruly grin into something more pleasant. Like someone greeting a friend. How long had it really been since the two got to see each other? With Omoni being sent on so many taxing missions that kept her away for months at a time, working together as a Captain and Lieutenant were meant to do had become out of the question. The cyclone began to die down and she lowered herself enough that she could see him better. It occurred to her that the earlier shout indicating she needed to stop hadn’t been some tiny cricket on her shoulder or any kind of self-preserving mechanism. It had been him and another escorting him by the looks of it. The old woman didn't recognize this Shinigami but perhaps that was because he wasn't from the fourth division. Scars on his body indicated to her he must have been pretty tough. She had lots of scars so she would know.
79388265eb7a2b6fb9b038135e2597ea.png

“Kid? What the hell are YOU doing here?!”
Naturally, she knew that he was healing those in the vicinity. It was confusing though because as far as she knew...the fourth division was not supposed to leave the barracks unless otherwise permitted like she had been to attain a Hollow. Even though he was the Captain it still didn’t make sense to her. Surely he hadn’t just come to see how she was doing because she was under the impression he trusted in her abilities whole heartedly. Those words he had shouted…
“OMONI!!! PULL BACK!!!”
Surely he didn’t actually mean that she run away. Not when the getting was good. Not when she was visibly pulsating with bloodlust. He knew her so much better than that to even try to pull her out of this state was so ill-advised he rarely made an effort. However, suddenly she understood the importance of the message because of that. He wouldn’t have commanded this of her if he did not mean every syllable. Although the words resembled something Yu might ask of her, now that she listened closer, they had the voice of the Captain Commander. Had she crossed a line here? Perhaps in her recklessness she had overlooked something very vital to the mission. Maybe even misconstrued the mission completely. Disobeying the kid was one thing but ignoring a direct order from the Captain Commander Shobatsu Murosaki was an entirely different world of bad that she wanted no part of. Honestly, now that she was considering this...she also realized that she was not even supposed to be there. She was meant to return to the Soul Society where she could use a Hollow to finally heal Jinnosuke who must have been seriously tired of waiting. As she cast her sight back out onto the field of battle and took in just how devastated the land of the living’s Karakura had become it was even harder for her to let go of the notion that she was going to rush in and put a stop to the devil at their door. Desperately, she wanted to defy these demands but with the way that things were she couldn’t afford to do that. Not yet at least…
“If you don’t think you’ll survive the night here, it’s best you retreat with Lieutenant Hageshi as soon as possible.”
“...I get it. You’ll hold things down here huh? Fine by me!”

Swiftly, a tendril grew and struck out so as to wrap around Oyama’s waist and bring her up onto her makeshift Zanpakuto turned locomotive. Hageshi gave one lasting glare to the eyes of Yu Nakamoto before turning around and galloping away over the top of burning buildings and into the night. For now, she’d rely on Hoshi’s ability to find the Senkaimon so the two of them could make their way back home to the Seireitei. Katsuo was left to decide what he wanted to do whether it be to tag along or remain there and aid the newly arrived Captain and his escort.
“ I’m comin back though! You hear me?! I”m gonna get that pompadour freak and come back!”
These were the final words of Omoni Hageshi before she took advantage of the others on the battlefield’s distracting attacks and left. If the brimstone bastard intended on following her then it was going to have one hell of a time doing so.

“Lieutenant Hageshi! Th-”
BOOOOOOOOM

A thunderous roar had drowned out her words. Even deafening her hearing, with that ringing, even if it was for a short period of time, it was still annoying as she had to rub her ears while her eyes were closed. For those precious seconds she had only been focused on herself before finally hearing her surrounding.
The quincy had made their attacks, before disappearing. Sure, there might be some around but she wasn’t to sure if they could be counted upon. They might just follow suit and leave like the others did. She was close to Omoni but far enough away from taking that damage, for the most part she had stayed out of the way. Despite wanting to join the fray she was worried that once her zanpakutō would be consumed, her shikai’s effects would work on those arrows; or worse become immune to her zan entirely.
She had only caught a glimpse of Shinjitsu, but from what she saw; wasn’t good even if it was just a blur. It looked like his skin was removed, and only left with chard muscles, A horrifying sight, had she gotten a better look at the man. Truthfully, she was glad she didn’t however, she had to figure out what to do with him in the future, if he was to make it out alive.
“HRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!”
Before she had the chance to allow her thoughts to surface Omoni’s roar had snapped her attention towards the Lieutenant. This heat, was something else, as sweat dripped off her skin and into her clothing, it was dizzying to a degree. She wondered how Omoni could continue to fight even with the wounds that came to her? Was she a descendent of a Kenpachi? It certainly felt like it as she only grew stronger as this battle continued.
It was amazing to see her react so quickly. Using her zanpakutō to coil around herself, protecting against those chains. Oyama wanted to join in, she wanted to try and come behind the Togabito and try to slash it. However, doubt had run its course by this point, telling that she’d only get in the way, or worse get caught by those awful chains… She was diving into her thoughts once more, as she stood in hellish ruins of Karakura town, before feeling a pair of hands grip onto the back of her head. In panic her body twisted around with her Zan aiming to slice through the mid section.
Only to find her blade slice through Furia, yet no harm was done against her other half. She was greeted with that wicked smile once more. Where she only wanted to speak for a moment.
“You never thought about deactivating my zanpakutō and reactivating it at the last second have you? It doesn’t matter now, we have company.”
Furia spoke with a condescending tone before pointing towards the butterflies that started to light up the hell ravaged landscape. No doubt it was reinforcements as one landed upon her for a moment, feeding reiryoku to her before flying off. It was at this point she turned around as she was finally able to feel the captains reiatsu signature.
“If you don’t think you’ll survive the night here, it’s best you retreat with Lieutenant Hageshi as soon as possible.”
“...I get it. You’ll hold things down here huh? Fine by me!”
“WAIT! Captain Nakamoto! The Togabito has the ability to adapt and possibly become immune to your zanpakutō and kido spells if it consumes even a part of it! It took various quincy arrows and has used it… Beware those arrows absorb Reshi, theres also ano-”

Oyama’s eyes widened with fear as she felt something metallic wrap around her waist before being pulled away, before turning to see it was Omoni. To this she sighed in relief, before realizing that she needed to guide the lieutenant towards the senkaimon gates. She did so though with a small bit of panic from earlier.

Shoumetsu-Takahiroedit.png

The moment the two of them entered into the Dangai realm things seemed to slow down for Shoumetsu and become focused more. He took this time to gather his thoughts on what they should do after Captain Nakamoto seemed to get lost in his train of thought. The silence soon was broken for him when the chiming of a female voice appeared out of nowhere, but he knew who exactly this disembodied voice belonged too.
"Look at this pathetic excuse of shinigami leaving so many vital points exposed. All it takes is just a simple piercing through his heart and leave the mechanisms of this world to get rid of the evidence for you."
The voice of Enshōjo was soft but held such malice in every word that slipped from her mouth. Soon she hovered his body with her hand reaching down over his guiding Shoumetsu and edging on to accept the truth he hid from. The blades of his zanpakuto made a small metallic rattling sound as Enshojo excitement begin to be expressed openly to him, and before he knew it felt his left hand slowly unsheathing his kodachi. Blinking once he slowly opened his eyes to witness both blades drawn sweeping out in arch and decapitating the Captain in front of him who was lost in his worries of what awaited them.
"drip drip"
The sounds of water droplets broke him out of his mental state but where did this dripping water come from? Taking in a deep breath he glanced around the Dangai to see no source of water but behind a trail of crimson splatters followed. Didn't take him long to notice he clenched his fist so tight his knuckles turned white and made his hand bleed leaving a trail of blood drops every so often. Glancing up he saw Captain Yu still marching in front of him, but Enshojo with her claws at his throat. The claws of his zanpakuto soon scraped along his face before tracing along the jawline.
"Look at his face be such a shame if I was to carve it up a little. Though the real performance is about too truly start so I will spare this pretty boy for now. Listen my dear Shoumetsu the drums of war have sounded and it is time to dance to the chaos!"
Before she faded away going back into silence the ominous giggles echoed in his mind. He placed his kodachi back fully into its sheath letting out a small breath of relief, but no matter how much he hated it she was right. It had been a while since Shoumetsu been out hunting hollows in the Human World, and the built-up bloodlust was already starting to form small cracks in his mind. From learning how to tame the inner darkness that existed within this was nothing new for him where he learned to manage it through meditation or satisfying himself in hollow eradication missions. Truth told Shoumetsu monstrous bloodlust didn't stem from the need to kill, but his desire to become stronger and constantly seeking for those who could push him beyond his limits. Although, for now, he was able to push it back down again until Captain Yu broke the silence giving a complete change of plans.
“Change of plans. We’re going to Karakura Town first”
Something must have changed in the time he was lost in his thoughts, but whatever the reason for this sudden change didn't matter for Shoumetsu. The only thing he cared for is if they were still heading to were this infamous togabito been causing havoc wishing to see where he stood against such an atrocity. The grip upon the saya of his zanpakuto tightened with the anticipation of watching how Yu started to change their course destination. Welcome by the bright flash of the Senkaimon wooden doors sliding open followed by what would be the fresh air from the world of the living. Though for the pair what they were greeted by was an entire city in shambles, the smell of brimstone stinging his nose, and a battlefield that looked like it been through hell. Shoumetsu couldn't but help to smile at such a beautiful sight before him, where others saw nothing but destruction, he saw the true beauty that lied within this chaos. After so long being in the peaceful confines of Soul Society Shoumetsu felt the most calm on the battlefield, and with his reiatsu still masked they held the upper hand. At least that would have held true if Captain Yu stuck to their agreed-upon plan but foolishly gave away their element of surprise by letting his emotions get the best of him. The aftermath of whatever large scale attack that just taken place was all they are able to witness with Lt. Omoni enduring through with just her sheer willpower alone. This was his first time crossing paths with her and damn did she leave an impression on this brief encounter.

Once Omoni managed to ride her zanpakuto out to safety in a strange manner, he watched the Captain suddenly shunpo away telling him to follow. Shoumetsu legs muscles immediately expanded from his flexing with a small crouch downwards, and the surging energy that enhanced the strength of his legs. In a violent take-off, he kicked off the surface which they stood with explosive force causing it to shatter beneath him and launched himself towards the destination he tracked Captain Yu head. Along his path to where the others now stood he traveled passed Omoni who made haste to head back to what he could only assume is to heal Lt. Jinnosuke as soon as possible. Though it was in that instance the two of them locked eyes even just for a second, he could see that this battle ridden woman might have been just like him. Two caged beasts who yearned to be free and it was times like this they got the chance to break the shackles that held them back and truly go all out in battle. This was the one truth Shoumetsu tried to deny about himself but after seeing somebody who also strived their best in the chaos of the battlefield, he couldn't deny it any longer. Society molded Shoumetsu into an instrument of war, a place where killing was not defined by murder, but simply two warring sides fighting to become the victor. This was the undying truth of war. Whether this same truth was shared by Omoni only she could tell, but whatever the case was Shoumetsu felt their fates were destined to cross blades at some point.
"...Such a fatal attraction...you know how to make a spirit jealous my dear Shoumetsu. Just remember only I will ever truly accept you for the beast that you are~."
With that moment passed Shoumetsu came to a halting stop forcefully on the reishi platform beside the group who sat on the sidelines while choosing not to acknowledge her remark. The ground becoming a heated tar and lava pit from the Hell Gates intense heat that continued to radiate out he knew that alone was one of the threats still needed to be dealt with. The main one was the togabito at large responsible for so much devastation to this city waiting to be dealt with, and from the look of things, this only proved so. In the small amount of time Shoumetsu battle instincts already kicked in the second, he entered the battlefield, quickly taking note of everybody states of wellbeing and keeping all his senses fully aware to react in a second to anything that was thrown at them. Still, his sadistic grin remained clear on his face proudly while listening to the 4th division Captain telling those who thought they would die staying here to retreat. Would the togabito be known as Soul-Eater allow for so many to leave the battlefield so easily though? This was something yet to be answered though it seemed already had its hands tied that allow them for a safe retreat.
He took in every word that Oyama managed to share with them before being snatched away by Lt. Omoni. An enemy who was capable of feats like this made it easier to understand why so many people Shinigami and Quincy alike struggled to defeat this creature. Without looking towards Katsuo the now only Shinigami who remained beside him and Captain Yu, he gave some words of advice as harsh it may come off.
"The moment you hesitated to act or be of any use on the battlefield you already lost this battle. If you don't have the courage to fight against him then what use are you? In battle, there is only the predators and the prey. If you value your life then don't get in the way of those who are willing to throw theirs on the line."
After he said what needed to be said always be straightforward in what he says, he left it up for him to determine his own fate. He did not have the luxury to worry about that and kept his attention to where it mattered. Watching how the butterfly that got released swarmed around Shinjitsu he smirked a little to see he still managed to survive even in a state as bad he was in. Placing his zanpakuto back onto his back knowing it was probably not wise to use zanjutsu against this enemy, shoumetsu cracked his knuckles fully prepared to rely on his skills in hakuda to fight against this foe, despite knowing how much this would piss Enshojo off.
"You fought enough Shinjitsu now leave the rest up to me."
