The sonic screech he let loose was beyond the realm of dreadful. If he had a human expression on his face then it would be blank, he had seen this multiple times over. He had killed, multiple times over. It was over just as quickly as it started it would have seemed, the flesh tearing away from bone and the bones away from its proper places, leaving the second shinigami as nothing but a mere pile of stained blood, bones and organs. He bent down and picked up a piece of his lung and bit into it. In a quick gulp, it sank down into his gullet. Swallowing it whole as it passed down into his respiratory, he wouldn't be satisfied just yet as he would turn to locate the body of the other cretin to think him fool enough to fall under his foolish antics. Finding his limp body, now in two seperate pieces, he walked over to the body and quickly wolfed it down.
As he finished through the second piece, he felt a fluctuation in the energies in the immediate area. More entities were headed his way and it would now be the best time to get on out of the situation. Not intending to leave behind his dinner, he slapped the leg of the dark haired shinigami in his mouth by the calf and took off into the sky with his broad wings. Now in flight and high in the sky he would suppress his reiryoku down to a near invisible level, and scan the town below him for any threats that may have picked up on his whereabouts. As he flew he would attempt to gobble down on the remainder of his reward. Seeing not too many souls out this evening, it was eerily quiet out tonight now, possibly due to his horrific noise polluting Karakura with his reiatsu no doubt. Holding back a sinister laugh, he flies over the downtown core of Karakura Town searching for his next feast.

”We’re broadcasting live where a man was recently attacked behind this local bookstore. The victim’s name cannot be released at this time, however what we can say is the man is a resident of Karakura Town who was apparently in Naruki City for business. The status of his condition remains unknown right now. The method of attack is remarkably similar to a string of other strange and unsolved murders that have been taking place throughout Naruki City, is this done by the same hand? Perhaps, stay tuned for more information to come.”
It is the same broadcasting on every News Channel, streamed on the internet, televised on every able and working TV. Shortly after the same phenomenon that transpired within Naruki City, the people were met with another bout of misfortune. People had gone missing one after the other, vanishing only to be discovered days later...dead. There was no pattern on how many days apart between victims, there seemed to be no specific targeting of groups, young and old, male and female. There existed nothing linking the victims to one another, baffling the local police. They didn’t know what to look for, who to look for, where to stake out in hopes of discovering any possible lead.
Its on that day that a certain man, seemingly ordinary in every right, simple and unremarkable finds his world turned upside down. Constantly traveling between both Naruki and Karakura, he was fortunate enough to have been at home during the night filled terror of Saint Nicholas’s reign. It was the last time he would be so lucky.
It is a quarter after midnight, he had just finished the day’s work. Papers were filed, numbers were crunched, mentally exhausting him to the point he was just barely able to stay awake. He finishes up before leaving the building, taking to Naruki’s streets. It is a quiet night. He walks, unaware, ignorant to the dangers that lurk in shadows, that would prey on others under the comforts of the dark. With every step the danger grows closer. He hears only the sound of his feet against the pavement, dragging along his tired body.
Closer
Businesses closed, the only lighting offered are those few street lights shown to be operable, and in this part of the city...there were few. He feels no presence, hears no foreign steps, and perceives no threat, until...it's too late.
He’s immediately overcome and equally overwhelmed. His vision is blocked and obscured, pain claiming his body. Red splatters the walls like abstract graffiti, the blood of this lowly man abandoned by fate. The shadow goes in to deliver the finishing blow when-
”Hey! What’s going on?”
A passerby sees him, clothes torn ragged, blood spilling from his wounds like a fountain. He sees a silhouette, or..at least he thinks he does. It's gone, causing them to blink, questioning what they saw. The sound of a body falling reclaims their focus. They pull out their phone and quickly dial the emergency number rushing to the poor man’s side. Bile rises within their mouth at the sight of this man’s body, mortified by the wounds that cover him, the strips of flesh dangling off his body. Their body shakes, uncertain on what to do, frightened about what could do this, unaware they’re being watched.
Minutes go by, how many remains unknown, before a cacophony of sirens brings an end to the peaceful quiet night. Police and Ambulance alike arrive on scene, witnessing the critical condition of the victim. Its clear he’s in no position to answer questions. The medical staff work to stabilize him, police move to secure the witness and cordon off the area from the public. It was imperative that he be treated, time was of the essence. They did the best they could as they loaded him into the back of an ambulance, speeding off, radioing for help. They needed to get him to a proper hospital, one equipped with a trauma unit that could competently perform the procedure that this man would need, if he had any hopes of living, let alone having a normal life.
It was clear he needed to be transported to the hospital in karakura. They were notorious for their miracles in the medical field. It would be impossible to get there in time traveling by ambulance, they needed the copter. All the while that distant silhouette is absent from its spying corner.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep

The sound of beeping, and labored breathing fills the sterile room. A week has passed since the attack, the victim lies in rest within the multistoried hospital, back home, safe within Karakura Town. Nurses and Doctors come in and out his room at all hours of the day, throughout the day, checking charts, readings before finally leaving him to rest. Despite the trauma and ordeal he’s gone through, it looks as though he will pull through. Yes, everything would be alright, he was safe now.
Or so he believed
The doctors, the nurses leave. Security and police work to keep reporters and journalists at bay, all eager for the story. They leave him seemingly alone in the room, his eyes that were open begin to close, he blinks once and then...perceives a shadow in the corner.
”I’ve. Found.YOU!”
The voice without form speaks out, as the shadowy silhouette approaches.
Beep. Beep. Beep Beep. BeepBeepBeepBeepBeep
Bound by bandages, body still weak, battered, injured he is unable to move. He tries to speak, to scream and call for help, but the breathing apparatus lodged in his mouth robs him of voice, of any hope of signaling for aid.
”Shhhh. I’ll be taking that now.”
BeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeep

The machine continues to beep frantically as his body trembles and shakes before
-

There is no more beeping, no more labored breaths, and no stirring. There is only stillness, and silence. Nearly half an hour passes before the medical staff returns for their routine check. They open the door and stop. The sound of clattering now fills the silent room as clipboards and charts are dropped. They stare at the lifeless corpse of their patient, blood trickling from still open eyes, paralyzed in horror. It pours from his mouth, his ears, his nose...every orifice of his body, staining the hospital sheets and once sterile floor.

[Present Day]
”Why me?”
A voice, clearly masculine asks as people pass by. Strangely enough, this voice does nothing to rouse attention from anyone.
”Why is this happening to me. What...just what’s going on?!”
He screams, voice echoing throughout the streets of Karakura. Still, no one stops, no one turns to investigate. The world goes on as if ignoring its very existence. Finally, the form is drawn, fading into focus, a chain dangling from its chest. His form, the spitting image of that very same man that died in Karakura Hospital those months ago. He moves through the streets, wandering aimlessly. Lost. Alone. Invisible to all around him.
His memories muddled, thoughts hazed. Frightened, angry, sad and confused, all he can do is walk.
His aimless walking brings him to a quaint little neighborhood, one that he’s intimately familiar with. Memories flash in his mind, he sees himself standing in a house, with a woman...his wife. Yes, his wife! She should know him, should be able to see him, hear him.
His pace quickens as he rushes, eager now to see her, certain that if he just made it there everything would be alright. He ignores everything around him, the dangling chain swaying behind him and around him. The house comes into view, growing clearer, larger as he draws closer. His smile becomes more broad, widening with each step. The window comes into view, he can see her. Yes, that’s his wife. He’s almost there! And then-
He sees the form of another. A man steps into view, wrapping his arms around her. The two embrace one another, and share an intimate kiss.
His world shatters.
”W-what? No….N-no...Why?”
His voice is a low mutter, it trembles as he speaks. His hands spring up, grabbing his skull, flashes of images pour into his mind and he is forced to relive that terrible night two months ago, forced to recall his violent death. The chain that dangles from his chest begins to form cracks, and mouths.
”WHY?! WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WH-”
He screams the question, over and over again. And over and over it goes unanswered.
CRACK
The chain breaks and there is a violent burst of wind that sweeps across this innocent neighborhood, filled with innocent bystanders, ignorant of what is taking place in the world that exists beyond their eyes. A torrent of spiritual energy rises in a blinding pillar, this too is invisible to those that remain spiritually unaware.
GRRAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!”
A curdling roar forces window panes to rattle.

A monster now stands within the streets, invisible to the world, towering over the many passing humans, the many unexpected victims. Fueled by pain, by loss, hate, anger, there is no telling how many lives would be lost, to fill that empty void in his heart.

It seemed he caught the tail end of a conversation, but he wasn’t able to hear much as he arrived to the three. Though once both Blume and Mia turned around Fred had his usual smile upon him, as Mia would guide Fred back to the room where his stuff laid in wait, and he couldn’t wait to get out of the suit and this ball, he wasn’t exactly comfortable with the entirety of it all, but he came at the request of Blume, even if he felt like he was cornered, but he was the one to suggest to her that they have a joint business between the flower shop and bar. So it was more so his fault for being in this situation, but it was a good for him in the long run.
“Right this way, Mr. Elbeck.”
It wasn’t long after that the reached the room, to which he would continue his smile at Mia. Though once he got to the room he would walk past her and push the door open, turning around and thanking her for guiding him back, before closing the door. With haste he switched out from his suit, to his normal attire, quickly attaching the Six Seele schienders onto the back of his belt, and placing the gintos back onto his sides once more; while tightening the quincy cross on his wrist. Now he felt like he was back to his normal self; though the suit was nice it wasn’t him, or atleast he wasn’t comfortable in it, if only for the fact that he might accidently tare it apart, despite it being tailored to his build.
Once he was fully dressed, he would open the door to find Mia gone, but he just decided to make his way back to the party, just in time to catch, Her, Blume and the male who has yet to get the name of. Now there was a sea of people between himself and the group, ever so carefully he began to push his way through the crowd as politely as he could, where it took him a bit longer to reach the others. Once he did, he would sigh in relief, before exiting the mansion with them.
It was certainly colder outside compared to the inside, but it was great for the fact that he was away from the party now, and didn’t have to worry about making political enemies at a party. When he stepped closer the Reshi platform was already created, to which he took a spot onto it, while pulling his phone out to shoot a quick text to his sister, asking her to bring some drum magazines to the downtown section of Karakura. Just as quickly she messaged back, asking for a bottle whiskey and some gambling money; to this he laughed and shook his head before sending back the text saying “sure”. He knew well enough that she had more than likely grabbed a bottle, and already grabbed some money before asking.
“The world could be ending and all she could care about is getting a bottle of liquor to drink.”
The last little bit still made him chuckle even when going before going in danger he was still by all accounts a jolly fellow. It would take quite a bit for Fred’s spirits to drop before a battle, as he for the most part tried to keep himself a little upbeat. One of the few places you can find him not smiling is a battlefield.
“So… any plan of attack? I prefer to be midrange in this I’lll try to keep it suppressed under fire. ”
A serious question, he hadn’t fought beside any of them nor did he fight along side other quincies outside of practice battles. He knew nothing about their fighting styles, so he only asked if he can avoid as much friendly fire as possible. Another thought came to mind was Silas, was he going to be Overwatch again? That would be more than useful, and again he had hopped to meet another Shinigami.

A rolling thunder came over the night sky as Silas made his way into the city. Among the first to take the initiative he knew that someone like blume wouldn’t be far behind. The arrival of hollows within Karakura was expected but it most certainly wasn’t welcome, so when these beast called themselves making the place their feasting grounds he was less than enthused. Amidst Silas’ departure and subsequent arrival on the scene a text was sent to Fred. It wasn’t from Silas himself but the purple haired young woman she of course was sending this text on behalf of Silas who was on his way to deal with this bat like figure that was running amuck.
“Meet him downtown, he is going to hold the line until the rest of you arrive. He’ll be in touch once you do. The creature has already killed two shinigami according to agents on the scene.”
The beast may have been hiding his presence spiritually but what he couldn’t do was hide it physically as the sky soon crackled around him. His wings cutting through the air and his aerodynamic form ripe for the pickings as he continued onward. Silas was on the scene in a matter of moments, his Reiatsu palpable in the clouds and the surrounding air as he stood perched atop a single roof. His sight lines were clear from up here and that meant he was free to run rampant with what was to come as the beast continued about his flight. Had it been paying close attention it would find that his being had become like a lightning rod within a matter of seconds. Had his reflexes not been quick enough it would likely find its form immediately struck down. A bolt of lightning almost unnatural in the sheer amount of power behind it not only did it seek to electrify him it sought to drive him straight into the pavement below. Had it no means of protection this would likely result in death.
However this wasn’t going to be Silas’ only attack on its figure however as he in turn manifested a rather rudimentary bow. Its form was crude and consisted of nothing but a repeated flow of reishi in order to give it proper form. It closely resembled that of a longbow. He was merely laying in wait to see if the beast had even managed to survive the initial impact of the lightning. If this beast was bright enough to wander into Karakura in hopes of a meal he was certainly smart enough to recognize he had made a mistake. Amidst it all the sky was still filled with lightning again as Silas was merely prepared for the inevitability that the beast survived or by some miracle of the thing people called god, it dodged. Silas was going to be pulling out the stops for something like this because as it stood it was something the Quincy let alone the spiritually aware humans of the town needed to see. A beacon of hope or better put peace of mind knowing that there were people out there to protect them.
In the end as Section 88 soldiers in disguise set up the perimeter they were on standby for the rest of those at the party to arrive. If and when they did arrive they would of course be let in without issue but what would come upon their arrival was information on the creature. Given the fact that the soldiers were already here when things really got underway. They didn’t want to become casualties themselves nor were there orders to get directly involved. A single individual would step forward upon the arrival of a fellow quincy and speak with a deep masculine voice.
“Silas is just up ahead and already engaged with the hollow. It has already dispatched two shinigami and appears to be some form of a large bat. Don’t hesitate to give it your all as we’ve been sure to remove any remaining civilians from the immediate area.”
The soldier in question would already be standing aside to let them through. In doing so however they would continue to hold the perimeter as more information poured in from another section of town on the sighting of another hollow within the city limits. Today was turning out to be quite an eventful one for the Quincy of Karakura and it was likely that the shinigami from a few months ago weren’t far behind.

The atmosphere around him was turning rampant, the once clear night sky, now starting to roll in grey sinister clouds that did not look like it produced your average raindrop. The winds churning with the coagulation within the clouds, moisture now forming but never truly falling into a full shower of tears. Feeling the droplets, if you could even call them that, not only wasn’t washing away the red stains that still were ridden all over his body, but a certain level of presence leaked down the psyche of the white bat to a point he could just not ignore. Lightning now being seen formed in the dense clouds, he takes the first precaution to lower himself to a level closer to the taller as he enters the downtown core. If he were to get struck, he would fall onto the rooftop of a skyscraper. However, there was something dubious about the composition of lightning forming above him, it was only coagulating in the one area, looking out to the farther reaches of the city, the night sky was as clear as it was prior to the weather going sour. Leading him to the suspicion that he was in someone's crosshairs.
Crack…Crack..!...Crack…
Thunder and lightning rolling in the clouds above him, he lowers himself further as he begins to scan the area for any life forms that may have been tailing him without his knowledge. Not feeling safe in any sort he suddenly feels a pick up in winds that carry his flight closer to the eastern end of downtown Karakura. Taking him away from the ominous weather that befell his journey. Until…
KABLOOOWwwww......
An enormous arc of thunder and lightning crashes down from the dark skies just barely missing the white hollow but not without sending a jolt of arcing electricity through his wings as he was carried by the forewarning winds prior to the rude thunderclap. The power of the lightning and thunder crashed down to the street levels shaking the ground and core of anyone within the radius of its impact. Disoriented while airborne, he tried to catch himself as he flew down into what looked to be the business district. Coming down forcefully as he still failed to find his recovery, He crashed into a metal wall of a taller skyscraper before landing on a building that was just ever so slightly lower than it. Maybe they were one in the same. He quickly opened his golden orbs, to find that he was now starting to regain his equilibrium. Standing to his fearsome stature, dusting and stretching his wings off from the impact, he looks to inspect the source of precipitation that blew him from his original course. It still was forming around the area of the larger thunder, however it would appear as if the ferocious weather patterns would carry on and spread.
He still had yet to locate the person responsible for the magnitude of this blatant targeting of its adversary. But not without revealing his face. Not feeling any regular spiritual energies, and no more shinigami that he could sense were in the area which could only mean one thing...Quincies. He hated those bow firing pests probably more than the Death Gods, with their holier than thou attitude toward the hollows as if the Shinigami and Quincy only hunted them to participate in a racial pissing contest. Only to ultimately lose and nearly become extinct. ”Hmph…” he was instantly fed up now. But he could feel the intense concentration that was within the dark clouds that had looked to eradicate him. Blatz now wondered where that pale haired Arrancar was? But remembered not a lot of time had passed since he had been here. Continuing to hide his presence and slink away from the opposite side of the building, he hones in on his Sonic Hearing to estimate the amount of combatants that may converge into the area, feeling stronger signatures outwards back towards where he was originally flying he decided to make a game of the situation before him. Flying away he hoped that they would have the gall to follow.
As he flew away from the giant arc of lightning he found another group of humans in the business area and continued his previous rain shower of sound based fury to their ear drum, killing several instantly as they dropped to the ground in a sprinkler stream of blood from their ears. Inaudible. They just keeled over without knowing any other sound. He caught the body of a falling human then let off a terrible cry as he flew off tearing the limbs from the males body. Feasting on his arms and shoulder as blood dripped from his white mask. His cackle filling the void sky he was off onto his next target, and to torment the Quincy.
