For whom the bell tolls.
A day before…
Arashi found himself home, the events of the Rukongai still fresh in his mind. The large mass of blood. The massive Garganta. They were images that could not be quelled nor suppressed through sleep and meditation, but he persisted anyway. Having spent the majority of these past three days locked in meditation. Even exercising in self-confined solitary. Only stepping out should the matter be dire or his Captain was in need of his assistance. However, Captain Oda was kind enough to give him peace, allowing him time to reconcile and break free from his own, troubles. He simply wasn’t, himself. No longer did a smile spread across his face, and his eyes remained closed, just as they always have. Still and motionless, docile even. He spent the remainder of the day this way, and even dared not to move through the night.
Arashiglowltmeetingsssss.png

Sitting in his own pool of sweat, drenched by effort and tireless exercise. Standard strength training, cardio, and finished with meditation. His light would be the only one that shined through the night, while all else was swallowed in darkness within the barracks, though no lit candles can be found within his quarters. No lamp is turned on to ignite this calming level of brightness that shines through the window. It was simply his own reiatsu, confined within the walls of his quarters. No amount not even a sliver of his spiritual pressure escaped. His body glows with a vibrant light, calm, like a soft flame where no heat can be expelled. His Zanpakuto sits in front of him, resting on the floor with a shimmer, matching the same glow that envelopes his body. Equivalent to the past two days, traps his own mind within his inner-world…
no-planets.png

A world that is boundless. Without walls or ceilings. Without life and death. It is this endless void, this endless space where time does not exist. Where hopes and dreams can be explored. Where adventures can manifest themselves and go on for eternity. Before, his world was filled with nothing but stars, light surrounded by darkness. However, it seemed more vibrant than usual, and this vibrance held the emotions of not just one, nor two, but three individual entities. Arashi, Hoshizora, and yes, even his counterpart. The unwelcomed, but welcomed menace that plagues his mind in silence, in hiding. It seemed to be a reoccurring theme when Arashi re-enters his domain. No sign of his inner-demon to call to, but Arashi knows better than to dismiss him even with this lack of evidence. He can feel his eyes forever staring at the back of his neck, the side of his face, and even in the front from a distance. Sometimes close, sometimes far away… Always knocking at the door, beating on the walls. He searches for an opening, but even when he finds one, he continues to the next. Never in fear of losing his position, only gaining whatever advantage he could so when the day comes he can strike from every corner, from every direction. He’d leave no chances for Arashi, no choices for him to decide upon. He’d be utterly powerless… or so he hopes...
While having knowledge of his plan, Arashi did not add to his defense. He did not fortify his walls or cling to Hoshizora as he once did. Had he given up? Was he ready to accept his fate and live with the consequences that are sure to follow? Whatever choices he made, it is not something that his peers could ever hope to see nor find. Not even the likes of Captain Oda or even Lieutenant Yugure who have been touched by the same affliction as he. Once able to stand within his inner-world, he chooses to lay and float, adrift along the currents of his world. Soon, Hoshizora manifested next to him, from the head to her toes, wrapped in robes of light…
“ It's surprising, isn't it…”
” What is?”

A play of ignorance, as if he was a clueless fool. As if he couldn’t see the different colors that have manifested within his inner-world. As if he could not feel the emotions and desires of all three of them mixing together…
” Just open your eyes and look. You’ll understand what I see and what he sees…”
Hardly forced, his eyes opened little by little. At first a blur, but soon his sight adjusted. Emotions become painfully clear, visible even. Rage, lust, calmness, joy, sadness, fear, all of these emotions attempting to meld together and the only thing that impeded their path was the darkness of his world. That darkness representing his counterpart…
” What he sees huh… Why should I care what he sees?”
“ You mean, what you see… Did you ever stop to think that you are looking into a mirror?”
” Is that supposed to be a joke?”

She scoffs, irritation stretching over her face as she folds her arms firmly. She moves quickly, her position changing from his side to being above his floating form. She saw only a fool at this moment, a careless, and mindless idiot. Unable to see the meaning behind this picture. Unable to read between the lines of his own story.
” BAKA!” She exclaimed!
Quickly striking Arashi, her tiny fist collapsing into his stomach sending Arashi downward, further away from the lights and vibrant colors that painted the scenery. He continued falling, until she and what lies behind her was no longer in sight. He continued falling, until he was surrounded by complete and utter darkness. Until, his body was pierced by a single blade. His own blade and his own blood splattering into the air. His hands immediately move towards the wound, grabbing a hold of the blade with his bare hands. Though he didn’t seem startled, nor surprised. His eyes simply closed once again, he felt no pain rush through his being. However, the voice of both Hoshizora and his counterpart linger by his ears. Each of them choosing a side to speak to him. Each of their hands grasping his shoulder. One of a cold and heavy embrace and the other of warmth and light.
Their hands move, creeping over his naked chest, before finally grasping his throat. Further he is dragged into the abyss, taken to-
His eyes rush open! Before him is his room no longer engulfed by light. No longer does his blade shimmer as it once did. Arashi turns his gaze to the window, watching as the sun finally peeks over the horizon… Finally, the next day had come. Perhaps it might be his last…
As time collapses...
Hours passing by, Arashi finds himself cleaned and dressed, his Zanpakuto nestled between his Obi-sash and Hakama this time around. Exiting his barracks, he’d make sure his Lieutenant badge is secured, all the while nodding to any and all comrades that pass him by within the 5th division barracks. It wasn’t too long before his next step swiftly entered into Shunpo, and exited upon the same initial step. Hardly starling the guards before him, trained and prepared as they should be. Unable to lock eyes with the Lieutenant for his eyes now remain close, however, they examine the badge upon his arm and quickly allow him access to their grounds. They’d receive no friendly gesture, unlike the man who once bore a smile to this world or any other.
He took his time, time that would allow him to surmise his words into a formal and coherent report. Effectively preparing himself mentally. While he would minimize one issue, he still dealt with another. Exactly where was he going? With his head on a swivel, making sure he was traveling in the right direction, but eventually he would find his way successfully, after asking once for directions.
Once again, the doors to the Lieutenant hall open, touched by a single hand. He’d be a new face, his first meeting with other high-ranking officers. His eyes would travel first to the Head Lieutenant Honoka Oki, quickly reading her as exhausted and frustrated. Yasu Yugure, her behavior knowing no bounds as she leans in her chair, feet kicked up, stuffing her face with snacks… Lastly for the moment at least, another female, who’s name he did not know yet. Omoni Hageshi, a warrior, one who has seen far too many battles and has scars to show for it. A powerhouse in her own right respectfully.
From single glances he’d uncover small and feeble information before seating himself at his respective chair that holds the color of his division. He raises his arms above the table, resting his forearms upon the surface before interlocking his fingers. He awaits for the rest to arrive and once they all did, finally, the Head Lieutenant speaks…

While Takashi is showing his respect to the Kidō Corps members at the senkaimon, a feeling of an unknown reiatsu approaching grew stronger every second that was passing. There's no killing intent coming from it and Takashi then understood that he was not the only one who received the order to guard the gate. Shortly afterwards, the other guard appeared who turned out to be a woman and it was obvious when she introduced herself.
” Himari Shimizu of the 5th division, the second Gatekeeper it seems.”
Ryugas_rpc_line.png

Takashi's eyes slowly opened and his dark purple eyes were fixed on the shinigami and her appearance made her stand out from the other members from the division, with the light blue hair and pale skin. After a quick glance, Takashi chooses to "place" her as good or as no threat at the moment. The reason for that is because he did not feel anything threatening coming from her. While he looked toward Himari he felt another reiatsu approaching their location and before Takashi could feel if it was hostile or not the source for this reiatsu had already ended up behind them. Takashi's gaze shifted from Himari to the newly arrived shinigami but what he saw surprised him. The man's appearance seemed to be in the worst condition with baggy and bloodshot red eyes. The first thought was to send him away to the 4th Division, the medical/supply squad, because he looked as if he would collapse at any second. But there was another thought in the back of Takashi's mind, the rumor that a certain prisoner of Fifth Division will be released and headed to the Senkaimon. Then Takashi put the two together, the appearance and condition and that he arrived at the gate that this must be the prisoner. Before he could think about it anymore, the man started talking.
"Himari...3rd Seat Eizoku Yugameru reporting for duty..."
That he knew the other guard's name showed that he knew who it was and Takashi continues to look at him and slowly nods at him before he welcomes him at the gate.
''Welcome Eizoku, I'm 6th seat Takashi Kiyoshi we've been waiting for you.''
Shortly afterwards, Takashi gets up and begins to walk towards the Senkaimon and passes the two Kidō Corps members who are still looking towards Eizoku. As he approaches the gate, he can do nothing but look up at the two huge gate doors. The largest tool built-in the Soul Society for the purpose of allowing one or several shinigami to travel between the Soul Society and the Human World and back. But the moment he can admire it does not last long and slowly Takashi clap both his hands together similar to a prayer and channel his reiryoku from inside his body out towards the gate. Slowly the gate begins to open and a strong light begins to shine outwards from the inside but Takashi himself cannot open the Senkaimon without the help of at least one more.

She wasn’t at all surprised that Captain Oda would not have just her be the gatekeeper of the Senkaimon, mainly from the times she had gotten overwhelmed in the past. She was a little thankful that she wasn’t alone for this task, and a sense of calm filled her body just a little.
As she stared at the man, she felt that he was a little weird to actually look at. Sure, she felt like herself with her two different color eyes and blue hair was a little different. This man that was standing near her stood out like a sore thumb. From his man jewels on his clothes to his neck, to his black and white hair, and down to the scar on his face. He seemed alright, from what it was worth. And she learned not to judge a book by its cover from her first meeting with Arashi, so she was going to try to be chill about this first meeting.
But, as she was about to speak a familiar voice would break out, causing her to be a little confused
”Himari…. 3rd seat Eizoku Yugameru reporting for duty….”
He looked awful. She didn’t understand why he would be sent like this when he could barely stand on his own. And before she could hold it, she was speaking.
”Eizoku, what the hell happened to you?!”
The shock in her voice was easy to spot, and her eyes would be glued to the other mans for a while before she would turn towards the other man, Takashi, who seemed to have the gate more on his mind than the current looks of Eizoku. Which was probably for the best. They did have a job to do.
She watched as he walked to the gate, before she quickly would walk over. She knew it wouldn’t be able to do this himself, and the senkaimon had a sense. It knew who was apart of the kido corps or not. So, she placed her hands on the gate.
And then, the gate slowly opened, bright light shining out upon them.

[Arriving At Central Sereitei from 10th Barracks]

The sound of chiming bells announce her arrival, her raven hair sways as she finally arrives, neither first nor last in regards to the number of summoned Vice Captains. Her feet unhesitatingly carry her towards the First Division. The closer she draws towards the Headquarters of the First, the clearer her destination became, along with the ones who guarded the entrances into the compound grounds. Fuyuko's eyes glanced from guard to guard, blade to blade as they impeded her advance. They take a glance towards her Lieutenant's badge, though they were already well acquainted with the names, faces and perhaps even the reiatsu of all the current Lieutenants of the Gotei 13. Despite being aware of all this, Fuyuko still announces herself, perhaps out of duty, perhaps out of etiquette.
" Kasumi Fuyuko of Squad 10"
The blades are withdrawn, allowing the young Lieutenant to proceed onward, and are drawn back together just as swiftly after her passing, metal ringing as it clashes against metal. She ventures further into the compound making her way towards the doors leading into the hall designated for the Vice Captains. The door creaks open, her eyes behold the room and all who had arrived before her. Head Lieutenant Oki was undoubtedly already present and properly seated, along with her closest friend, Lieutenant Yasu Yugure of the 2nd Squad. She takes notice of the Fourth Division's very own amazon, Lieutenant Omoni Hageshi and finally there was another one, one of the newer additions to their happy little band of Vice Captains. His face came as a pleasant surprise, recalling the time she had brought his mangled body back to the Seireitei to see him stronger, healthier and as one of her peers now; Lieutenant Arashi Suta.
Fuyuko greets the room, a small bow and nod of her head in silent greeting. She circles around the massive round table, passing by Arashi first in her travel. She strolls casually by the empty seats, and when she passes behind Yasu, a bag of chips precariously lands on the table in front of her pink haired best friend. She along with many others was well aware about how large an appetite the seemingly small girl had in regards to snacks and sweets of all manner. Taking her place in the seat next to Head Lieutenant Oki. Normally one to greet the Seireitei's mother figure with a gift whenever they met, Fuyuko couldn't allow today to be any different. Slipping a hand into the sleeve of her shihakusho, she rummages around in silent desperate search for something. Her hand ruffles around inside for a bit before pulling back, retrieving a cat shaped Omamori, outfitted with a small bell. Her delicate fingers gave the item a little squeeze before gently placing it on the table in front of Honoka
3c19d58a3ebd78f45804be0afc057600.png

‘’A little gift for you. Even though times are hard right now I think this will help to lift off some of your burden, even if just a little.’’
She speaks knowing how she knew and understood very little of the situation and the burdens that plagued her role model. She presents a gentle reassuring smile towards the Head Lieutenant, pushing herself back into her seat as she, like the others, awaited for the arrival of the rest of the Lieutenants before things could truly begin. She passes a glance from person to person, eyes stealing a peek towards Lady Honoka before staring ahead. She hoped that if anything, Lady Oki would shed some light on the things that have taken place. Now was the time where they truly needed to band together as one.

Four days had passed since Yui had delivered her first report to a member of Second Division. In that time, she had traveled to the barracks of Sixth Division, seeking out Shusuke as instructed, only to find that the man had never returned. After very few questions she learned he had been summoned to the Central Seireitei, a place the girl had never entered. And still had not. Barred from entering she insisted on her need to see the Kiyoshi man on very important business and was shut down without hesitation. A relief tent that had been constructed during the garganta event was near the gates, and for the near week she had waited this was where she found residence.
The center had seen little use as those within First Division had not had need of unseated healers sent about Soul Society, relying instead upon their own prowess. This had left them well stocked, three days worth of provisions for ten people and more medical supplies than seemed necessary. Yui had caught the members that had erected the tent preparing to break it down and return home. Without revealing the exact nature of her mission she had convinced them to instead leave the center for her to stay in as she bid her time. They had removed all of the cots aside from one along with all of the medical supplies, though all of this was unneeded by her.
The unassuming canvas structure was seen as harmless or abandoned, a mostly true sentiment. This left the girl inside, hearing the whispers of those that passed by as they entered or left Central. Learning much and more about what had occurred within as well as in the World of the Living she could understand why the man was too busy to see her. And yet... She refused to. She had approached the gates more than once, demanding entrance until the point her very life had been threatened for her insentient nature. Such matters went well beyond her understanding.
She could not truly understand what it meant to have lost their Captain Commander other than the most obvious, being that they needed another. Rumors reached her ears of who that would be but she felt disinterested. Truly a babe in the woods, she had no real concept of how severe the situation was. What it all meant. To her, one who had not experienced death first-hand, this was a normal thing. It happened to them all and they put themselves in danger on many of their missions. What was so particularly special about some stiff souls sitting behind desks dying? They would be replaced, just as the Commander would be, and life would resume for her as if nothing had changed. This line of thinking could be seen as treasonous, careless, heartless. She was simply too naive. How was one such as her able to truly grasp this all? Hiding within the tent, instead of grief, instead of pondering on the future of all the souls around her...the girl simply sulked like a child.
4thNPCSulk.png

She wanted to return home. To her usual duties. Normal life. Why was it so terribly important to Izumi-san that the messaged be delivered to this man in particular when in mattered to her so little who in Second received it?
For the first time since her arrival the girl shivered in fear. That woman scared her. The constant smile on her face...She was kind, there was no denying that. However, in Yui's limited experience, she was the most scary soul she had yet to encounter. In the tiny bubble of the girl's life she had met few souls aside from nurses and members from other squads. They could scarcely be considered intimidating in such states that brought them into Fourth's care. And though she knew that Izumi would inflict no wounds upon her person, she knew that that woman, and her alone as far as she was aware, could inflict a particularly special type of hell upon her should she not complete her mission as commanded.
But why? The Kiyoshi man was busy, yes. However he had not made time for the messenger Junko had sent. Surely it could not have been that important to him. However...Fear kept her still. Fear kept her small thread of patience firm. Whether a promise or a threat, Junko Izumi made neither lightly. And though it may no longer be of importance to Shusuke, Junko had given her word that the report would be made and delivered as soon as possible. It was a quality Yui found both respectable and infuriating. Surely there was a point where she could be released from a promise she had made. They were in an uproar about something that was clearly more important than the message the girl carried. Surely Izumi was aware of this. Yet her orders had not changed. She had not been told to return home. Therein came the frustrating aspect of the woman's priorities. Though Yui could not truly have a handle on the severity of the situation that those within Central faced, why would Junko be so adamant about keeping a promise that could easily be fulfilled later?
Because she had given her word. Another chill down her spine at the thought. Yui would remain in place as long as it took to deliver her report before returning. The tent was much more welcoming than the wrath she would face if she went back to Fourth with her tail between her legs now.
