"Yes, sir,"
A meek and quiet response to the Captain’s judgement. She lives to see another day. Kazumi raises her body slightly off the ground, yet keeps her eyes downcast. As ordered she begins regaling both Yasu and Sakiko with the information forcefully extracted from a captured Rukongai resident. She tells them of the uprising of the insurgents, sparks fanned from the Kototsu that destroyed many homes and claimed many lives.
It doesn’t end there.
She goes on to explain about the assistance these revolutionists gained from a mysterious party claiming to have escaped from the Seireitei. News that alarmed her and reminded her that Xioalin had been and still was missing. The tale intensifies with every word spoken, as the women are informed of the number of prisoners now missing from the Maggots Nest, meaning that these insurgents have now allied themselves with some of the most dangerous individuals within Soul Society.
"After that...everyone stopped talking to me and telling me things. I was no longer to be reported to by them. So I have no further information on either subject. I apologize for failing you all once again."
Kazumi concludes her report, ending with another bout of needless self reprimation. All that had been spoken was information already relayed to Kyomu, his expression throughout the report as a result remains unchanged. Instead, he observes the responses or lackthereof from both Yasu and Sakiko.
His focus for a moment, in all of this is not on the despondent Kazumi, nor was it on his attentive Lieutenant — instead it is the least likely person of the bunch, Sakiko who earns her Captain’s attention.
Normally skittish, distant, ever nervous in nature, it is a rarity for her to break out of this character. Normally rude acts or other inappropriate actions are normally the catalysts for this change. Oddly enough here, and now where it was only the four of them present, Sakiko Nakama has broken character. The woman initially says nothing, and makes not a peep. It is everything nonverbal that reveals her innermost thoughts; her annoyance, her anger...her disgust.
The Captain observed in silence, it was clear these emotions were not directed towards him, nor did they seem to be pointed towards Yasu — all that negativity was being aimed directly at Kazumi. Curious, considering the jittery girl had just recently been the somewhat, loudest advocate for the now Sixth seat.
"Sixth Seat Kazumi Fujioka..it is incredibly difficult to understand you with your head in the floorboards... I got most of it... I would rather you keep the rest of your conversation at face level if you would be so kind, do you not agree Lieutenant?"
The stutter and mumbling lost, replaced by a sharp tongue as she attempts to enlist the Lieutenant in her public chiding of Kazumi.
“Nothing to get angry over, Sakiko, so get rid of your annoyance.”
A prompt response from the Lieutenant. It seems Sakiko would find no ally in Yasu in her desire to reprimand Kazumi. Rather focusing on irrelevant trivialities, the Lieutenant prioritizes the matter at hand.
“What are your orders, Taichou?”

Kyomu remains seated and for the moment, offers no response. It's clear that there’s much that needed to be done. The Division has been accumulating a number of failures as of late. They needed to change things…HE needed to change things. He glances at the gentle and dejected Kazumi, before eyes carry over towards the typically quiet and nervous Sakiko now grown noticeably irritable at her colleague.

”That fire of yours Sakiko Nakama that you seem so willing to aim towards Kazumi, would be better channeled aiding the Squad. Perhaps if you could maintain that vigor, we might accomplish more.”
Finally, the Phantom speaks, touching on the topic of Sakiko’s ire as he reaches into his haori. His gaze finds its way towards Yasu,as his hand slides out, fingers revealed, clinging several pieces of paper.

”It seems if we’re to turn our situation around, we’ll need to call HIM back. The two of you should know who I mean.”
His words this time, directed towards Sakiko and Yasu. He passes the papers over to his Lieutenant, the picture of a single individual attached to the files.
”He’s somewhere in the Rukongai, and has been there for the past couple of years. Find him and tell him it's time to come back.”
He pauses for a moment as amber hues fall on Kazumi.
”Bring Kazumi with you, she’s never met him and she’ll be working under you from now on as well. The phrase to get in should still be the same Yasu.”
He leans back and speaks no further. He does not give them any point of direction on where they should begin their search, the Rukongai home to many people and comprised of many districts, nor does he elaborate for Kazumi on who exactly he was referring to.
Who were they meant to find? Why were they in the Rukongai for years, and what did the Captain hope to accomplish by bringing them back? It was clear Kyomu had no intention of divulging anything further, but one thing Kazumi could be certain of; Both Yasu and Sakiko at least had some answers regarding this mission entrusted to them.

Despite the hostility she could feel radiating from Kyomu, Yasu seemed rather difficult for her to understand. She seemed more deeper in thought than anything else. She didn't blame her. Certainly the petty issues she faced concerning Kazumi were eclipsed by everything else. Her recent imprisonment and everything that had happened after. Kazumi knew fairly little about any of it despite simply knowing her life was in danger. Her blubbering was simple relief from her having been in the dark for so long.
It was impossible to not read the waves of anger and resentment with a hint of disgust. It radiated off her reiatsu that required little focus to feel. This felt warranted, though Kazumi's assumptions of why were promptly proven wrong. In a sudden out of character outburst she unleashed her feelings, recruiting the others for help. Though they did not join her fight, it would have been the same regardless.
She would not argue with Sakiko. Obviously she looked pathetic and weak in her current position and behavior, however she had her reasons. She didn't feel like a whimpering child awaiting their punishment. It was simple acceptance that such a blunder in their squad could easily call for the death penalty. And she was at peace with that. The shame of her actions would be shown, even though it slashed at her pride. It was obvious she did not understand Kazumi's actions but she simply refused to speak upon it. Instead she simply sat up.
Now sitting on her legs, arms to her sides though her hands rest in her lap. Head now more raised though slightly bowed, eyes still closed as she took in the information;she also awaited the Captain to change his mind.. Actions done without hesitation and completed within seconds, she made barely a sound as she positioned herself.

The Captain began to speak and she listened intently, though confusion set in. Remaining silent over her questions. If she needed to know then she would. All that mattered were the current orders and mission.
"Yes, sir."
Waiting little time she stood, taking a step away from Kyomu to put more respectful distance between them and gave a light gaze to Yasu who she assumed would be taking command of this mission from here on and would be issuing the orders now. At her word, she would depart and follow her wherever she led.

The sound of rustling papers catches Yasu’s attention, though it never left her captain in the first place, even as he addressed Sakiko on her behavior.
“It seems if we’re to turn our situation around, we’ll need to call HIM back. The two of you should know who I mean.”
Taking hold of what he passed in her direction, Yasu pulled at the single photo that identified the man that they were to find. Plum-toned orbs lit up at the sight of the familiar man clad in distinct attire that only a handful of individuals managed to catch him in if they even knew he existed at all. Like Kyomu had said, this man had been sitting in the Rukongai for years, and Sakiko Nakama had been his stand-in for that amount of time. Idly flipping the photo in between her fingers, she looked up at Sakiko--
“Bring Kazumi with you, she’s never met him and she’ll be working under you from now on as well.”
Eyes flitting over to Kazumi, the lieutenant moved down from her perch, papers held in her hand rather loosely. Not that she was leaving just yet, but Yasu was intent on sizing up the girl before her. Hearing the way that she groveled and took in everything that both Sakiko and their captain laid into her without expression. That’s what she expected… if they were surrounded by their other peers. But it was just the three of them, yet, there was no other reaction. At least not yet.
The phrase to get in should still be the same Yasu.”
“Haihai. I’ll try to be back as soon as possible. I have… things that I’d like to discuss with you, Taichou.”

Hearing such an odd statement come out of the lieutenant’s mouth in such a serious tone was giving off an aura that those in the room never experienced personally to anyone other than captain. Closing in on Kazumi, Yasu motioned for Sakiko to follow and held the papers for Kazuumi to take. Once she had, Yasu would place a hand on her shoulder and spoke to her in a low tone.
“You’ve made your choice to return, so don’t fall behind. Lift your spirits at this second chance. If I find out you’re still holding back, I’ll leave you behind, and you can rot in that hole you dug yourself.”
Turning to look at Sakiko, she then motioned for them to exit the main hall and head towards her room within the barracks. As they walked, Yasu would begin removing her jacket, revealing the rippling muscles that came to be since returning home after three months. Her cropped top hugged her torso, but even that couldn’t hide the curve of her figure. Attached to a band resting around her forearm was her blade, and with the mental command, it melted away and sunk deep into her flesh.
“Kagewaki Hōmuru, the King of Thieves. That’s who we’re looking for. He’s been undercover in the Rukongai for years, and Sakiko has been his stand-in since then. Now after all this time, it’s time for him to come home. Since Xiaolin is nowhere to be found, it’s up to us three to do our jobs.”
Slipping into her room, she expected the other two to follow suit. Had they entered quick enough, they’d managed to find their lieutenant stripping out of her uniform. It wouldn’t be as if they never saw another body before… Digging through her closet, she managed to find a bundle of torn and worn-out clothes that she ripped through during training. Fishing out an outfit for herself and the other two, Yasu would begin dressing in these rags. Even her choice of footwear was switched, and she abhorred geta.
“Get changed. Knowing him, he won’t be living lavishly around the first fifty districts of any region. We’ll have to go deep into the territories that are filled with the worst of the Rukongai citizens.”
Tying the white garb around her waist to hold her skirt up, Yasu could feel the itch of her inner demon scratching to tease her about whether she was fit to lead this mission, but whether or not she was fit didn’t matter. She had her orders, and she would see them through.
“This is your last chance to back out.”
If no words were said and Yasu turned to see Kazumi dressed and ready for departure, they would find themselves headed out to the Rukongai without another exchange.

Saki would clamp her mouth shut when she heard Lieutenant Yugure's words. She was right she shouldn't let herself work up over the trivialities and she wasn't the only one considering the way that their captain spoke about her and she closed her eyes as she chewed on her lower lip taking the deep breaths that she had used for her control practice. She just couldn't let herself look at the now sixth seat of the second division at least not at the moment without bringing up more of her annoyance. However, she did find solace in one thing that the captain had said. He thought that she had vigor... she didn't think she had ever heard him say something so close to a compliment since she had joined the division and it helped to evaporate a bit of her annoyance with a small warm seed of pride from deep in her chest even if it was meant to be a bit of an insult she couldn't help herself.
When she opened her eyes she already looked like she was in a slightly better mood and seeing that Kasumi was no longer had her face pressed into the ground was another helpful addition to extinguish the fire in her belly. Her amber eyes moved back to the captain hearing the ruffling of the papers her eyes studying what was facing them the moment before they were handed to the lieutenant she didn't need to look at them to know what he was talking about though. It was about the fifth seat, anyone who had been covering for the man as long as she had would know that, she wasn't fully briefed on his position before in the Rukongai but she knew enough of it to understand. Things must be getting complicated if they were supposed to be bringing that freedom-loving man back. She hadn't realized how dyer it was if that was the case, pulling him out of his undercover work seemed like it was one of the more extreme actions but thinking on all she had learned while in her isolation she knew she had only seen the tip of the iceberg of trouble that they were in. It only made sense to bring all the manpower that they could into the situation.
Hearing that Kazumi would be going made her eyes dart to the woman though she didn't question his judgment she assumed it was to bring the girl's confidence back. It was after all just a retrieval mission right? Though he worked in the rougher areas it was an in and out job. She nearly didn't understand what would be the use of the three of them going... likely they didn't need them all, she was only invited because she had stood up for Kazumi in the courtyard. If she hadn't shown herself she wouldn't even have been considered despite the retrieval being for her commander. He was the reason she didn't mind being an after thought. She wanted to go for him. She knew his assistance was deeply needed at least from what she had seen in her attempts at leading the inner court.
Once the Lieutenant made her comment she gave a small gulp... she didn't think she had seen the happy-go-lucky woman ever have such a serious look on her face. She could understand the gravity of the situation with that expression on the pink-haired woman's face. The nod in her direction was returned with one and for once her lower lip was not tucked under her teeth instead her lips were pressed into a hard line her nervous energy back but she was showing that she could overcome it, that she respected the woman before her and she would do anything in her power to keep from disappointing her. She would fallow a respectful five feet from the Lieutenant giving a glance to make sure that Kazumi was also following along into her room as she spoke and nodded that she had infact been a stand-in for the real fifth seat. She agreed it was time for them to buckle down and get their job done but catching sight of the lieutenant changing was not something that she was prepared for, her face burst out into a bright red and she quickly turned her back to the woman to give her a bit better privacy, yes she had seen another's body before but it wasn't something that she went out of her way to see. It didn't help that the lieutenant was defiantly in amazing shape. She hadn't expected the shape of the woman's arms to be so well-formed. That strength she could visibly see with her eyes she knew put most anyone to shame. She refused to look at the woman until she felt that she was completely decent not that she likely would see anything indecent.
It would take her a moment before she would even allow herself to grab the rags offered to her. Her own tightly tethered obi and shinguards would make her a bit slower to be able to undress than the other two. And the fact she was basically swimming in the fabric made getting it tied off to her took her a moment. She normally kept her own uniform baggy, it made her feel more secured so she was quite glad to actually see that it was this large and though she didn't wear her geta anymore she was fine with them, the single tooth geta were more familiar to her than the standard so she would retrieve them before they left she told herself since she didn't want to risk them leaving her behind. She was in for the long haul for this one, she would help getting her captain. It didn't matter the danger from the worst souls that they could find in the district.
"Lets do this"

The Captain sits in the dark, watching as his subordinates leave from their private meeting. The moment the last of the three women leave the private room, the Captain would immediately feel he is not alone. A ghostly figure, concealed behind a uniform of white, steps out of the shadows, as if just coming into existence. It is clear he had not been there the entire time, but is only manifesting before the Captain's very eyes at this very moment.
4d05497b41f84a25331d8ee21f391f63.png

One of Commander Murasaki’s own private messengers. These First Division messengers carry the word of Shobatsu himself, something that the Captain has encountered time and again. Though the mere presence of such a being can only signify one thing, the messenger continues to speak out of courtesy.
“Captain Mukuro, orders for you from the Captain Commander sir.
In his hand, he holds an envelope, sealed in purple wax with the signet of the First Division. It is ironic that the Blind Commander dispatches only orders meant to be read, but even with all of the Gotei Thirteen’s forms of communication, the written letter remains the most discreet.
9cc5ea2398de26f7c115b31cefeb0951.png

The moment the Captain’s hand touches the envelope, the messenger fades from view, as though he never existed at all, his task complete. Left alone, this is the first time Kyomu has heard from Murasaki since the Commander spoke those final words to him on that fateful night. The message contained inside reads:
Quote:Captain Mukuro,
You and your fellow Captains have been summoned for a meeting. You are to report to the Captains Hall immediately.
A direct audience with Captain Commander Shobatsu Murasaki himself. It was rare for the Commander to call such a meeting. It's been well over a century since the last time the Captains had all gathered, when Yū Nakamoto ascended to the rank. Is this gathering perhaps for Tenzen Oda then? He was after all, just recently released from recovery, and permitted to tend to his duties as Captain. No, that would be the hopeful side of the Captain thinking. The truth is clear. Too much has happened this past year, the Seireitei’s sense of security has crumbled, and dark forces are starting to rise from the cracks. This meeting will hardly be one of celebration. A talk is well overdue.
