Divided into five small groups, barbarous men plotted amongst each other, sacrificing their freedom to attempt escaping from the vast, bleak space that surrounded them. Some refrained from partaking in these matters as to be punishment would be possible, should come down to that. These prisoners, unattended had always formed cliques of their own, thinking of the next big move; as aforementioned some refused to have their time cut short in these moments of leniency. Many men, and even women had been imprisoned for years. It was only normal for some to have some sort of prestige that served no significance anywhere else but here. One man was always the ‘big-boss’ Among the various chatter of these divided groups, the head honcho of them all was named
Jinzō. Otherwise known as the ‘
The Madman’ (狂人,Kyōjin), Jinzō became an inmate one hundred years ago after bribery with bandits who would often try and steal various relics from
noble families. The latter’s objective was to sell them and then bribe money-hungry higher-ups in the Gotei 13―to further expand on power. Recently there had been new inmates, two women in particular were among them. Each divided group plotted which could hold one of the women as hostages and negotiate some sort of freedom with the one in charge of the Nest of Maggots.
The women sat apart from the men, they conversed with each other, noting the gazes from the men here and there. Their reasoning of being brought here was unknown as of yet; either way they must’ve been a threat to Shinigami and the Soul Society. Suddenly, one of the male inmates approached them, and spoke softly, just enough to not get noted by the other men who continued to speak among each other. “
Yo,” the bloke said as he squatted next to the women. He was suddenly caught, and dragged to the men’s side. The latter had been assaulted by several inmates while the women watched. “
That’s enough!, a loud-mouthed, breaking voice emerged from the fiasco. It was Jinzō. “
We don’t want those bastards to barge in on us. The unknown inmate who got assaulted was released and freed from wrath of his violent peers. The minor-bruised bloke had thanked the Boss and scurried off to a part of the nest where he could possibly remain unbothered. It was too late for this brief ruckus to not go unnoticed. In fact, two members of the detention unit had quickly handled the matter; They gathered the inmates and monitored them, separating them by sections within the Maggot’s Nest. This was an Order by their Corps Commander.
Meanwhile footsteps from one’s brown bottom sandals clicked against the wooden bridge that led to the cave. The two guards that supervise the door when their chief isn’t around, could seem him heading this way―not just him, but many of the second division refugees. Xiaolin didn’t seem pleased about this, it only resulted in more people to monitor. It would just be easy to put them down, should it ever come to that. He couldn’t complain, as that’ll only exert more matters to think about.
Distinctive chatter was among the members who accompanied Xiaolin, they had no clue of what they were doing as far as following their third seat, nor did they question it. Following protocol, if knowing it is the best thing to do, one has no need to question it. Upon their arrival, Xiaolin turned around to face the refugees. There were many of them, but there wasn’t a doubt that Xiaolin had where the quantity of refugees here would over-pile the quantity of inmates inside.
“
These are unusual circumstances, in which I’m sure you all can make aware of. This is only for the time being that you all will be spending time with myself and the ‘residents’ inside. ” Spoke the Nonchalant third seat. He turned around as the two members that guarded the door opened it. Xiaolin paced forward where the rest of the refugees cautiously proceeded with him “
Oh, and watch out. These guys can be pretty violent. They are dangerous criminals after all,” Xiaolin noted to them without any warmth. Going further inside, the setting was just as he ordered. Spacious, just enough to get everyone inside and divided from the prisoners. They continued to have distinctive chatter, probably on wondering where to go from here. Two of the Detention Unit members that had already been inside of the nest had stood beside Xiaolin. He ordered for the rest of the refugees to gaze in his direction with a clap of his hands. “
Alright, now that we’re all here. As I said this is only for the time being. We’ll await for Captain Mukuro’s orders. Until then, this disposition is strict. Do not oppose otherwise” Just what were they supposed to do? How long will this take. Xiaolin is a keen and observant man, only he knows the reasoning of this. It’s for their well-being. The real danger is what lies outside this hell-hole of prisoners. This was their safe-haven for now. Xiaolin wasn’t one for giving pep talk or assauring people in a positive manner than how he voices it.
