Caught between the index finger and thumb an insect is slowly being crushed. The cracking and crunching of its outer shell is pleasant to the ears while another appealing stimuli is taken in through the eyes. A small innocent smile creeps across the face while this vaguely familiar figure watches on from the tree. The head of the instructor rolls back after receiving a cut from the Captain at speeds he could not even perceive. The suffering of the instructor- former instructor, was all too short there was nothing to enjoy no writhing or thrashing around from pain. Because his suffering was cut short so too was the insect between the boy’s fingers as it was promptly crushed as well. He let go of the crushed remains letting it fall from the tree, he followed it’s descent landing on it to ensure it’s death. His Captain was already walking away by the time he left the tree, his mask already on to blend in with the other individuals in the area.
He looks- no, stares at the corpse of Enso Aikawa, his head tilting to the right as he observes the body. He was taught to make sure the enemy is dead, ensure that there is no way they can rise again and right at this moment he wanted to follow through on those teachings. He breaks eye contact with the cadaver and turns his head to have his eyes fixed on the Captain’s back.
”Inform the Sixth Division that they can cease their investigation into the matter regarding Seventh Division. Enso Aikawa has admitted to the murder of the three in the presence of two Captain’s of the Gotei 13, and has been executed. They can expect a written report by day’s end.”

The captain pauses for a moment, the tone of his words go over the boy’s head as he is too engrossed with the visage of the Captain, what he sees as a picture perfect killer. Someone with so much confidence in their ability to kill that they waste no time striking a corpse a second time. He wants to learn how to kill like that, to obtain confidence that a single swing of the sword is all that’s needed to get the job done. He watches the Haori flutter as he strides further away from him and he thinks to himself, what would it be like to die by the hands of such a Captain? What would it be like to kill one? His killing intent is possibly felt by Captain Mukuro, it is nowhere near as potent as the Phantom’s but it instead holds a curious nature to it, mights and maybes. Does he perhaps idolize the Captain?
”See if Lieutenant Yugure is finished with her meeting with the other Lieutenants. If she is, inform her to return back immediately, so we can lay Kagewaki to rest. Inform all members of Second Division to begin the preparations. Go”
His eyes perk up snapped out of his odd trance by the next set of orders given by the Killer Captain. He didn’t even wait around to see who else wanted to depart with him as he swiftly vanished from his location without making a sound as he made haste towards the Central Seireitei to fetch the Lieutenant. He pulls his mask off as he flickers back into existence to kick off a rooftop. It was nice to move about like this, any excuse to get out of the barracks once in a while is nice. And though he is filled with positive emotions he doesn’t show an ounce of it in his body language or his face, only a deadpan stare fixated on First Division’s location.

Captain Oda, now visible to all after deactivating his cloaking Kido some time ago, leaps from rooftop to rooftop on his way to his base of operations, Kido Corps HQ. He had narrowly escaped being caught and truthfully, in his mind, being caught was all he was worried about as he had no plans on being captured. Though during his travel he had time to think about his actions, he loathed having to do what he did to Akarui along with duping the other Shinigami in the area it is not something he wished to do again. As he nears the HQ the guilt subsides as his mind must now focus on more important tasks such as figuring out exactly how this spell works. Landing at the front gates of the HQ he nods to the guards standing by who open the gate for him without hesitation. Before crossing the threshold into the base he stops to address them.
”Anyone not affiliated with Kido Corps is not allowed entry, Fifth Division Included save for my Lieutenant Arashi Suta.. Hmm. Also with the exception of the Head Lieutenant and the Captain Commander. This order is now Law until the day I am no longer Grand Chief.”
”Yes Sir!!”

The guards loudly proclaim followed by dispatching Hell Butterflies to relay this message to the rest of the Kido Corps HQ. The Butterflies race past Captain Oda as he strides into the neat and clean grounds of the Kido Corps, a place known to keep secrets and artifacts locked away from the general public along with documenting potentially forbidden knowledge. To be granted the “keys” to this vault of knowledge comes from a place of high trust and understanding that the one in possession of these metaphorical keys will not abuse or leak this knowledge into the world. Shobatsu Murasaki, the former Captain Commander, trusted Tenzen Oda with this position not only that but he trusted an Oda with this wealth of knowledge to sit upon and this Captain will not betray that trust, he would die before doing such a thing that would besmirch the Commanders standing and name.
12bff24d9c2d09e5f2c7b3622df6c5b9.png

”Welcome Grand Chief, we did not expect a visit from you today.”
The High Priestess appears before Tenzen via Shunpo, despite her best efforts to make it seem like she suddenly materialized her Captain had already seen her coming. Being on edge since his close call in Central 46 he has remained constantly vigilant of approaching entities.
”I’m just here to dig through our Kido Spell Archives in preparation for Commander Kagayaki’s visit. Orders from former Commander Murasaki were to erase any influence that may be lingering from when he stopped the Kōtotsu. He will be coming here after his stop at Twelfth Division.”
”I see, will you need us to prepare anything for you while you are here?”

He shakes his head to her question.
”No, my stay won’t be for long however do prepare a room for the Commander, we’ll need barriers and the like in place incase something is lingering within him and tries to escape. Hmm, also have a detachment prepare to aid me in sealing off an area of the Rukongai, specifically the area where the Kōtotsu emerged from. We are to coordinate with the Twelfth Division on this matter.”
Not so much as a goodbye is shed between the two as the Priestess bows and vanishes from sight to make all the preparations needed for the orders given to her. By the time this conversation had ended all of Kido Corps was aware of their new orders:
Quote:The only ones allowed entry into the Kido Corps HQ are members of the Kido Corps themselves, Lt/Vice Chief Arashi Suta, Captain Commander Kagayaki, and Head Lt Oki. The Seated members of Fifth Division are barred from entry as are all other Gotei 13 Divisions and their affiliates.
Not long after the Chief finds himself within the Kido Spell Archive, all spells both forbidden and not, old and new, spells that are public knowledge and those that are secret are kept within this place. Should one wish to learn more about Kido outside the given material at the Shino Academy this is the place to do it, sadly with the new order passed down it seems like only the Chief and his Lieutenant will have free reign to research this material. Like a library with rows upon rows of material one could spend days looking through it all to find what they want, should one know what they are looking for however it would take a matter of minutes. He sighs knowing what he is looking for, and where to look however, he will have to ensure he reads every detail correctly to not miss a thing. What exactly will Tenzen do once he learns how to cast this deadly spell crafted for slaying Shobatsu Murasaki? What enemy does he have that would require him to have a need for such a devastating spell?

Southeast ———————————— traveling from ———————————— Central
Yasu idly brushed her hand back and forth, making a quick stop by the Fifth Division barracks to see if she was able to find Kiku lazing about in his new division. Once she heard the news of his transfer, she honestly wondered why he dropped down from the First Division. All she knew about First was that it had its merits, but she supposed he never did get much action as their janitor.
Well, whatever makes him happy.
Her discoveries unfruitful in finding him, she instead caught a series of snacks that he possessed in his lodgings, currently snacking away at a particular brand of cookies. Her trek back to the Second Division was often like this. And it wasn’t as if she were causing any harm, but as she was leaving, there’d been a buzz here and there on restrictions… For whom? She didn’t know, nor was she interested, so long as she was able to continue her snack runs uninterrupted.
“These are pretty good...”
She looks at the now empty bag of cookies when a blur settles right before her, and while no one rests directly before her, the lieutenant raises her head and comes to find a series of Second Division personnel standing above her on the roof. Her captain had sent a retrieval party to gather her after the meeting, but she'd gotten out much more quickly than expected as she met them halfway on their trek towards Central. Among the group of operatives, Yasu sees Ochitsuki and smiles, covering their short distance in a quick stride. The two side-by-side were on complete opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. If anyone mimicked Kyomu well enough, Ochitsuki would be second-to-none in that aspect. Regardless, he was one of her best friends and someone she could openly be with without judgment… at least to her knowledge.
“Oi, oi, “Tsuki!”
The lieutenant exclaims before hooking an arm around his neck and pulling him in close. Even though she was well aware of his distaste for any sort of physical contact, the two had always been close since their academy years, usually due to Yasu’s relentlessness of wanting to make friends with those she sets her eyes on. The choices in her friends have always bode well for her, including the emotionless gremlin that currently was within her hold.
“Came to get me, huh? You do care.”
Yasu teases him, all in good fun, but she attempted to keep the air light despite knowing what her welcoming party was for. Even without a word from either of them, Yasu had already begun her trek back to the Second Division once more with the others in tow. In little time they arrived back at their barracks, and Yasu was greeted with quiet gestures and turned to one of those who came to gather her midway.
“Where is he?”
“In his study. He is currently working on a report. Ensō Aikawa has been executed after his confession.”

She nods and dismisses them all to get themselves ready for the funeral service for Kagewaki Hōmuru and the many others that had fallen. Even Ochitsuki would be dismissed to offer his help elsewhere. Meanwhile, Yasu would find herself seeking out her captain. Not need to hide her presence, she took quiet strides as she walked the long halls and corridors until she stopped in front of his door. A gentle rap of her knuckles against the wooden frames and she let herself in, even without his cue. Though she held up a box of strawberry pocky through the crack in the doorway before she stuck her head through.
“Taichooou.”
Her tone is rather gleeful despite the events soon leading into a solemn period. At the very least, she could provide some sort of comfort with one of his favorite snacks. Entering his study, Yasu tosses the box at him with precision before she kneels by the door, ready to go at a moment’s notice. Moments pass in silence, and the little dunce has little to say for once in her life.

There isn’t much that goes on in the mind of Ochitsuki most times, he exists in the here and now a fault of his young age. But today things are a bit different for a boy who doesn’t feel much, emotionally that is, he has something in the pit of his stomach that has been rising through his body ever since he watched his Captain walk away. He is confused and puzzled by it unsure of how to express or even begin to explain it but he can trace it back to its origin. It was when he thought about dying at the Captain’s hand or killing the Captain himself, he had never pondered these things before. It has always been kill to kill again with no regard for who or what is being killed. But this, this feels like something more as if he would reach something magnificent should he follow through with it. Ochitsuki Oda has found a goal, a dream in life, to kill the Captain of the Second Division, Kyomu Mukuro.
Not knowing what he has found within himself he is still quite happy about though his face does not show it. This day of oddities does not end with this new feeling as he is caught off guard by Lt Yugure.
“Oi, oi, “Tsuki!”
His head adjusts slightly to get a look at who was calling for him when he is suddenly put in a headlock. Being raised in a house of warriors he knows what a real headlock feels like, when it is filled with malice and ill intent, this was not such a lock. Because of this he didn’t struggle one bit, he was like a rag doll in the woman’s arm though he kept himself standing upright. It had been a while since he had last seen the Lieutenant and she has changed a lot since their time at the Academy back when they looked to be the same age. But she has grown and rightly so considering what she has been through. Perhaps Ochitsuki has stagnated due to his linear thought process? Or could it be because he hasn’t done anything to warrant growth. It’s not like he could or would even bother to understand complex thoughts like these.
“Came to get me, huh? You do care.”
”Captain’s orders.”

His eerie monotone voice invades the air as he responds to Yasu’s jest at him, he wasn’t about to admit to it and it’s not like she could get a read on him, hopefully. The teachings of the Second Division ensure that such friendly comradery wont last long. As much as it would pain him to do it he would let Yasu die if it meant landing a killing blow on an enemy. The group set out on a return trip back to the Barracks with the Lieutenant in tow, Ochitsuki remained silent during the short trip, not even bothering to ask how the meeting went or more importantly, what happened out in the Rukongai. As they near the barracks he places his mask back on, his individuality being lost among the group of Onmitsukidō he is with. This mask even feels heavier for some reason, he wants it off yet he won't defy the rules so all he can do is yearn.
Their Lt addresses one of the others there, asking for the location of the Captain once she is given the answer the group is dismissed, Ochitsuki included. He turns to follow with the group and before him all he can see is drones, a hive of fodder. He wonders if they have this same feeling he does, this want and urge to kill the Captain or if they have ever felt it. Is this something that shall pass or will it stick with him forever until he does it? He bares the Captain no ill will, no hate or anything of the sort just a level of admiration that has conjured forth the urge to fight and kill him. Being born as an Oda with the will to fight and kill all then being trained within Second Division has, unknown to Ochitsuki, taught him to aim the entirety of his Killing intent on one target. He walks with the group for a bit, stopping for a moment to look back in the direction Yasu went, the direction she is walking leads to Kyomu. If he were to follow out of sight would he be able to assassinate the Captain of Assassins? Could-
”Oi, kid, let's get a move on. You should know better than to idle around like that.”
His eyes are the first to move in the direction of the man speaking to him followed by the slow rotation of his head. The sound and tone of his voice is unpleasant, there is something in it that he disagrees with and he wants to silence this man forever. They lock eyes and it is the man who breaks contact and begins walking away.
”Fall in line and follow the orders, you know how this works… Creepy brat…”
The man says the last part under his breath as he and the others begin walking away and just like that a new, temporary, target has been acquired. This man will be the first to die and bit by bit, using the corpses of others as stepping stones he will reach his goal of facing Kyomu Mukuro.

In the Barracks of the Second Division, down the hall, coming from the Captain’s office was the sound of scratching. It was light, and steady, slowly becoming faster with every other moment passed.
7d2dbf30d1437f4a24eaa4bcde758b98.png

Kyomu sits behind his desk, pen in hand scribbling along a piece of paper. Beneath that single paper are several others. Since executing Enso Aikawa he has been writing out his report, documenting and detailing everything that transpired from Captain Asakura’s arrival and demand, to their descent into the Nest. He makes sure to include his former Sixth seat’s intervention, to Enso’s confession and finally...the execution of the criminal by his own hand.
TAP TAP TAP
Right as he concludes his report, there is a light rapping outside his door. His pen comes to a still, the Captain giving no response to the visitor on the other side of the door. No matter, as the door creaks open, the visitor’s hand holding strawberry flavored treats sticks itself into the room, shortly following it is the head belonging to the owner of the hand, his Lieutenant Yasu Yugure.
“Taichooou.”
Her cheery voice calls out to him, a good sign. Given all that she had gone through as of recently, while still battling with her hollowfication it's a quiet relief seeing her in such high spirits. Regardless, Kyomu has still yet to acknowledge his Lieutenant, has not said a word as she welcomes herself into his office, tossing the box of sweets his way before kneeling at the door. His head remains forward, eyes still fixed on his written report — unwavering as his left hand catches the box flung with the poise and precision of a shuriken. Placing the box on his desk, the Captain collects the papers, stacking them perfectly one atop the other before finally rising to his feet. Walking around his desk he heads for the door, eyes still doing nothing to acknowledge the pink haired girl.
”Lets go.”
It isn’t until he walks past her that he speaks to young Yasu in passing, feet never stopping as he heads out of his office expecting her to follow. As they walk down the halls of the barracks, his subordinates — members of both the Division and the Stealth Force begin to join him, trailing behind both the Captain and the Vice-Captain. With every step taken his mind descends further into the past, recalling his times with the King of Thieves. There were few people the Phantom took a liking to and fewer still were those he acknowledged..Kagewaki Homuru was placed in both categories. Growing up in the Rukongai, while no assassin, his stealth and infiltration skills were nothing to scoff at, the man was truly a diamond in the rough. Kyomu believed that, other than his current Lieutenant, the only other person who would perhaps inherit his teachings, will and perhaps one day...his position, it would be Kagewaki.
The image of the fallen officer fades, replaced by the faces of the men who gave their lives to fulfill his order in protecting Yasu during his attack on Commander Murasaki, their faces soon replaced by those who gave their lives to the barrier made to isolate both Shobatsu and Kyomu from the rest of the Seireitei. So many lives lost, cut incredibly short. They were all good men, their absence visible from the current state of the Division. While immersed in thoughts, reminiscing and remorse, his entourage has grown a dozen fold, steadily growing more and more. His steps have already taken him from the main barracks, feet carrying them across the grass as they’re guided into the woodline, delving further and further. From above it's like watching a trail of black ants, marching perfectly in sync with one another. No man or woman says anything, no one strays out of place, and there's none who wonders what they’re doing, where they’re going or why. While there is never a good day to question the Phantom’s orders, if there was such an occasion, today would not be the appropriate time to do so.
edc7dd40b9be1edb444d9c50ddd2a5a4.jpg

The sight of stone markers rising in the distance aligns with Kyomu’s return to the present reality. The more they walk, the closer they draw to their destination, every man breaking off, forming two long lines parallel to one another, the various Gorintō, Kasatōba, and Sotoba to the backs of each line. The Captain approaches one of the tallest and largest of grave markers, his head inclining to gaze upon it. The grave appears to be made of marble or a similar material, Kyomu’s image and those behind him reflected off its finely polished surface. Everyone stands still, bodies locked in place. Not a single soul twitches, shifts, or bats an eye — they hardly dared to even breathe at this moment.
”To join the Stealth Force, is to erase yourself..to immerse yourself in shadow, denying even your own existence. To be Onmitsukido is to become a villain, to save the Seireitei from villains.”
He pauses, his back still to his men as he continues to gaze at the memorial stone of his subor-no, of his friend. He reminds everyone present of the meaning behind their existence, the importance of being as treacherous and untrustworthy as they have come to be known.
”To combat the liars, thieves and traitors of the Seireitei and Soul Society, we must lie, steal and cheat in turn. Today, we stand before all that remains of the greatest liars, cheaters...and thieves that have come through our Division. Today we acknowledge those who the others will never acknowledge, will never remember as fondly as we do — as we should.”
It's at this point that the man finally turns around, eyes first drifting towards Yasu, before gazing down the seemingly endless rows of Stealth Force Agents. Kyomu could never be called a kind man, nor is there any who would call him particularly emotional. Here however, there is a hint of both kindness and emotion within his words as he speaks on behalf of the fallen. The gravity and severity of their mission weighs heavily upon every man and woman present.
”Remember”
He tells them, or perhaps coming from him it was more an order. What they’re meant to think about, meant to remember was maybe unique to each individual. Maybe the Captain merely wanted to ensure the sustained existence of those who had died for him, in the service of him by ingraining their lives in the minds of everyone present today. Today, or rather for now at least, the killers, liars, cheaters and thieves mourn.
