”Wait. We will assess the situation properly after everything is settled. And..if in the end it's determined that there is no merit in letting them live. Then, you can kill it.”
”Understood, Captain."
Ochitsuki speaks in his dull monotone when answering the Captain, this wasn’t done out of spite, it was just his neutral tone of voice. As they continued on he began to speak with Hitsugaya about something Ochitsuki didn’t even notice.
”Inside the Nest of Maggots no weapons are allowed..including Zanpakuto regardless of their form. Your zanpakuto may be stuck in its released state, and may not take the form of a conventional weapon...but none of that matters. Should you, wielding a zanpakuto become compromised in the Nest then you become that much more of a liability. If you’re entering the Nest, seal it. If you claim your zanpakuto can not be sealed, remove them. If you wish to claim that you cannot even accomplish that measly task, dive into the deepest parts of your soul and demand the knowledge on how to remove those gauntlets or remain outside the Nest..”
Shinotori had his Zanpakuto with him the entire time? Deceptive for it to be a pair of gauntlets, though Ochitsuki understood completely why the Captain was upset. If someone got the upperhand on him and killed him the Shikai would revert back to it’s sealed state, a blade. If anyone one of these Maggot’s got their hands on a weapon like that it could spell trouble. Ochitsuki remained silent as the Captain continued to reprimand Hitsugaya.
”This will be the last time you enter the Nest without being able to remove your gauntlets...your, zanpakuto. If you can’t remove it yourself I’ll simply cut off your arms so you can leave them behind. Maybe in your time without them you might uncover some little trick to free yourself from your shikai.”
After this the Captain looks towards him and Oyama to which Ochitsuki nodded to show that he understood. To be fair Ochitsuki did suspect something from the man considering what he said to him two weeks ago about the hatch on the floor. He warned Shinotori about the protocol of leaving his Zanpakuto with the guards, he told him this and he still disobeyed him. Ochitsuki stood in utter silence, his rage fulminating in this very moment. He was just needlessly reprimanded by the Captain because of something he previously warned Shinotori about. Yes, Captain Mukuro did not vocally reprimand him as he did to the Hitsugaya but it was all the same to the Fourth Seat.
”We’re leaving.”
Kyomu headed onward with Ochitsuki no longer following, lost and consumed by his rage he stood motionless with his mouth ajar, seemingly staring towards the ceiling.
”I’m heading out now, remember your orders. Himari...don’t forget my words. Shinotori...hurry up if you’re coming.”
With that everyone began making their way out of the nest leaving Ochitsuki alone, in that same spot. A guard approaches him, cautiously, and speaks.
”F..Fourth Seat Oda… Are… Are you okay?”
He was right to ask this because Ochitsuki’s eyes were rolled back, the visage of anger painted on his face with his pure white, vein ridden sclera visible. Hearing the guard ask the question he snaps out of his anger-like trance and looks at him, brushing past the man and making his way for the door, where he turns and sits down with his back to it. Unlike last time there will be no prison break, if a single maggot tries to fly he will squash them before they have a chance to spread their wings. Shinotori had better find death in the Kenpachi games because if he doesn’t he will find it at the hands of Ochitsuki when or if he returns.
