Shizuka had minuscule remorse when it came to speaking to his fellow 3rd Seat. Even after his Lieutenant came to Suta's defense, he felt no form of regret for the words he spoke. The fact of the matter is that eventually the enemy was going to improve, the history of the world proved this to be true. Shizuka felt there was nothing wrong to inflict a competitive fire within his comrade, he needed something more than just a sugar coated forgiveness speech. Anything that would strengthen his resolve to become stronger is what Shizuka felt he needed
"I understand"
Upon hearing Suta's stale response to his miniature rant, Shizuka merely turned his head away from his fellow 3rd seat, signifying him being finished on the matter.
"Tch..."
Lieutenant Kasumi then spoke her piece on the matter, showing her caring nature towards the topic at hand. Shizuka was not surprised, he knew deep down under her constant nagging, the Lieutenant was a genuine and affectionate soul. She even downplayed her role as his savior just to dish credit evenly amongst the two. What did catch Shizuka's attention though, was the Adjucas being able to force Bankai from her. Bankai would usually be reserved from Hollows ranking Vasto Lordes and beyond that, especially from Lieutenant Kasumi whose bankai could be described as one of the more deadlier Bankai's within the Seireitei.
"Bankai? Hmm, it seems Suta's sob story about this Hollow's strength wasn't all bullshit"
In his heart Shizuka felt an uneasiness going on upon hearing of the Hollow's strength. In his mind from the multiple of Adjucas level hollows he had faced there was never one that forced his hand to use his bankai. Thoughts culminated within his mind about the fated day where a hollow would force him to use his bankai from it's pure strength. Knowing all too well that his incomplete excuse of a Bankai would only last him less than 5 minutes in an actual battle. Still, even throughout the circumstances Shizuka accepted this small uneasiness. His underlying personality that he kept hidden from his peers, was taking his fear for the enemies potential strength and turning it into motivation to become stronger. Subsequently after Lieutenant Kasumi finished her piece and after Captain Kagayaki spoke his words on the matter, Shizuka felt a strong rumbling coursing through the terrain. Immedaitely afterwards, he heard Captain Kojima's voice in a muffled tone through the Denreishinki his Lieutenant and Captain carried on their person.
"My fellow Shinigami. A big ass Kokotsu dun' just crashed our little party here in the Rukongai District. Now if you want to leave the head captain and no-brow to their make-out session that would be nice...I could use the help.."
Immediately upon hearing the Kokotsu had broken loose from the Dangai, Shizuka tried to immediately ease his way out of the room that the 4 of them stood in. It was going to be a tough task, but Shizuka felt as if he could maneuver his way out of the room without a soul noticing. Sadly as soon as the voice from the communication device ceased Captain Kagayaki immediately voiced his order
“Shizuka. You’re accompanying me to assist him. Fuyuko.. Please stay and rest. Even when resting, the division will be in your hands. Arashi I’d tell you to also stay behind but something about your stubbornness tells me that I’d be wasting my breath. I know you aren’t one hundred percent, so follow at your own risk.”
Shizuka's heart dropped as soon as he heard his name, what could he possibly do against a Kokotsu. There would actually be no purpose of him coming. The Kokotsu's essence completely destroys all around it and constantly absorbs reiryoku based attacks. No Kido or Zanpakuto ability Shizuka wielded could combat such a threat. Shizuka let out a long sigh,,,,,
"Jeez, as long as you're Captain there's no such thing as true rest"
Captain Kagayaki gave a nod to Shizuka for confirmation, Shizuka fastened his grip on the navy blue sheathe, and gave a similar nod in response to his superior. In the blink of an eye the trio vanished from the scene and headed towards danger.

……
Alone
Her Captain, Shizuka, even Arashi-kun left to pursuit that dangerous, ominous power they all felt, leaving her alone with the mess made by the massive reckless hands of her Captain. She had wanted to join them, to be of some help or use as well, however she had her orders. Commanded to rest after having exerted herself using her bankai, orders that she knew deep down that she would not, could not obey...not now, when so much was going on around her. Rest was a luxury none of them could afford, least of all her. She was a Lieutenant after all.
She bites her lip, deep in thought, fingers coil into tiny fists. She hesitates, then finds her eyes staring up towards the roof, and then finds herself standing at the very point of focus, standing atop the rooftop of their barracks, staring towards the Southern wall of the Seireitei. Her heart begins to ache and ping, there was an uneasiness that she felt. It wasn’t just what was taking place then and there, it was a feeling that could not be described with words, nor realized through paintings or drawings.
Her mouth slightly agape, her breathing labored. Fuyuko was still tired, still very much fatigued, her stamina having yet to truly recover. From the ground members of Tenth Division begin to gather, lower seated and unseated subordinates noticing the presence of their Vice Captain standing atop the roof.
”Start gathering the others..have them form up outside.” She speaks to those present without looking towards them. Despite the calmness in her voice, they understand that this was no request. It was an irrevocable order. They begin moving, none daring to delay their steps or voice any open questions to the orders given. They would need to understand the “why” to the command later.
The Vice Captain takes a shallow breath, then closes her eyes. For a moment there is nothing but darkness, soon it is illuminated by the reiatsu of the various shinigami, the moving Vice Captains, and the gathering Captains. She notices the divisions moving into action; Thirteenth Division...Fifth Division...Eleventh...Ninth...and, Second? The very perceived anarchists to the disturbance that took place when she returned back with Arashi were now working towards cooperating with the others? She bit her lip and then...she stumbles. Her already labored breathing becomes double that, the pressure exerted from the Kokotsu, the way it disgustingly disturbed and digested the reishi in the air, the grotesque twisting and churning of time. What was this?
She steadied herself, chanting silently to steel her stomach, spirit and resolve. She was concerned, and with great cause...but what disturbed her more was feeling powerless, unable to be at her Captain’s side...unable to do anything.
From the distance even she takes notice of massive slug like entity being forced into the skies. Its size immeasurably smaller from where she stands, but Fuyuko understands if she can see it from here...just how great must it actually be in size? Lieutenant Kasumi stands both blind and deaf to the ongoings in Rukongai. Ignorant to the struggles pitted against the rising monster of destruction. Then, there is stillness, peace, all is calm….and then comes the storm.
The skies begin to darken, she senses the scrambling of those afar off from her, their frantic motions enough to pull her focus from her Taichou. She could not hesitate, she could not wait to be updated. She turns to face those who were gathering beneath her, hair whipping in the process. ”FOUR OF YOU, ON ME!! THE REST OF YOU, PREPARE TO EVACUATE! MOVE OUT AND HELP PROTECT AS MANY AS YOU CAN!”
The subordinates are startled, bewildered and frightened at these new orders, and the urgency in which they are delivered. She begins moving towards the Rukongai. Deaf to the orders issued by both Captain Mukuro and her own Captain she heads towards the danger rather from it.

-RING RING RING-
-RING RING RING-

Shizuka eyes creeped open slowly as he was berated by the constant ringing of his Deireinshiki. It was his personal alarm he's been using as of lately to cure his sloth-like mentality. In these path few months it was necessary to destroy some of his lazier tendencies, the Division was in a minuscule state of failure due to the comatose state of their beloved Captain. Life afterwards wasn't so easy, Lieutenant Kasumi was passed on a lot of the work in his place, becoming a work horse to try and clear up as much as she can for her captain. Even currently she was out doing work with half of the Division to restore some of the tattered remains of the Rukongai District. She initially woke up Shizuka up earlier to help but was responded to by the slamming of his door. Usually this would bother the Lieutenant, but the overall cheery mentality of the division had been constantly dwindling over time and she probably did not have the capacity to entertain the lazy 3rd Seat at the time.
-RING RING RING-
-RING RING RING-

The sound of the alarm continued to pester Shizuka, he was slowly working from a half awake state to being fully awake. This was inherently confusing to him at the same time. He was used to much more when it came to the forces of nature trying to stop his sleep within his division. This made Shizuka ponder, but when he thought about it, there hasn't been much disruption as of these recent months. His sleep was always full and he was never having to escape to his secret locations to garner sleep. Another hit to the morale and constant antics of the Division, that was a result of 3 months ago. In a groggy tone hidden by the constant ringing of the alarm Shizuka whispered to himself
"That's about right huh?"
Lieutenant Kasumi who would usually have tolerance for most things, lost that tolerance a month after she realized the Captain was not going to wake up anytime soon. As with most females, especially ones who are emotional their minds usually tend to go through the most changes through grief. Shizuka felt like the attitude she carried signified someone who had given up on past only to try and forget it. On multiple occasions it felt as if she was trying to groom Shizuka to be a potential leader within the division as well being more astute herself for her role as the de-facto Captain.
-RING RING RING-
-RING RING RING-

Shizuka's eyes were completely open at this point, though still a little shaken from being woken up so spontaneously. He fought through his layed down position from his bed to stand on his floor to retrieve the ringing Deirenshiki.
-RING RI-
"Thank goodness...."
There lay next to his bed his trusted Zanpakuto, albeit being sleep majority of time Shizuka has been working on his craft. Ever since he felt that uselessness of 3 months ago, he made it his mission to persevere through and enhance his skills with Zanpakuto and his spirit. He reached down to grab the sword by it's tsuba and turned around to grab the Deireinshiki. As he made his exit from his room, he wondered what today had in store for him.

Eradication has been on its way in the form of a massive growing entity, the Kototsu. It is making a vertical trip downwards to cause an enormous slaughter on every individual living beneath it. Like taking a boot to stomp on creepy crawlers, the soul reapers were the creepy crawlers. Every able body tried to prevent what was now deem 'inevitable' at this point. There was no stopping it, but one person did continue to try by arrogantly using only Shikai. He stood just underneath the fiery creature while looking to shift its entire body, underestimating the Kototsu. Sky darkened, and the bright sun had been eclipsed from its massive size. There was a glimmer of hope and anticipation that the impossible was now possible, struggled to shift the length of this single entity and just when its proportional body contorted. Shirogane had failed. The mirror that was to perform the impossible task disintegrated into nothing. As it gains closer, Shirogane was very stubborn and yet trying to believe within his ability to change the course of this annihilation. That was coming to an end all life as he knows it — being a fool that was going to keep attempting to try or die trying. It was a pipe dream, but Shirogane didn't have much to live for anyway. Ashamed Kuchiki, a failure, a fallen Kuchiki, what else was there for him to do, LIVE?
"Don't be a fool, your shikai alone will not be enough for that. You-"
Captain Kyomu tried to come and spare a warning to the Kuchiki, basically saying his attempt to do something in shikai was asinine. His words cut short as the Kototsu grew closer. And he didn't waste time to share anything else but one final warning to flee the area. "Leave. Now. You are powerless to do anything against this. Leave it to Captain Kagayaki."
"Leave it to him? What could he possibly do that he couldn't? If it was impossible, to begin with, why condemn this man to death?

These were the questions that mentally cross Shirogane's mind, and he took a glance towards the Captain that enter the vicinity to handle the situation or, in this case, commit suicide. He didn't wish to flee without helping, and he didn't want to live and face his shortcomings. He thought that maybe if he was to clone the Captain with his mirror that he could help provide that extra power to aid him. The plan was cut short and denied when Captain Kagayaki yelled "No! You can't try that; it's too power-!!!!" Captain words fell short when the heat, gust of wind starting to become too high, even for him. There wasn't any time to come up with something; it was now or never.
"Everyone! Get as far away from here as possible, not a single soul needs to be here, or you all will die! You WILL die! Allow me to receive this burden.. allow me to show the same knowledge of sacrifice as you have all shown me! Leave. Now!
With all his pleading for everyone to leave right now, Shirogane accepted that he couldn't do anything. With that, he created a mirror for himself. He stepped through using its ability to teleport himself and the rest of the soul reapers he prepared to save away from this area and getting away, far away from where the effects of the collision wouldn't affect them at all. Shirogane knew after this day that Captain Kagayaki would be a man he respected, lives, or dies.

Three Months Later
9883f2ce7bad13c5ecf4020f4c7c2dee.png

It has been a peaceful three months since the incident took place, and everyone seems to be adjusting well. The areas that were damaged had been reconstructed or still being worked on for the most part. After these events, it would be hard to say what everyone has been doing since Shirogane isolated himself within his quarters. But wasn't just sitting around sulking or being mopey, he took it upon himself to train alone, whether it's by performing Jinzen (刃禅, Sword Meditation; Viz "Sword Zen") to have a better communication with Jibun no hansha. He retrained himself from the basics and practice using all of his abilities, gaining one new skill for shikai in the process of training during the three months. Aside from training his zanpakuto, he worked on preparing his body to strengthen his endurance. However, when not physically training, Shirogane would often find himself reading countless books — using his royal status to gain access to the central library, studying all the past histories centuries ago until currently. It did take some time to review for information that he would have found useful. Especially anything that would prevent another event like the Kototsu, he felt it to be essential that he do whatever he can to be better equipped to handle such a situation like that. As should anyone else, but he could only assume everyone push pass that event like it was nothing. Probably slacked off to do other things that aren't meaningful at all. But even though Shirogane isolated himself from everyone aside from the men in the barracks of Division 6, the fallen Kuchiki often made trips to division 4. Once word that Captain Kagayaki had still been alive, barely, he was quite astonished to hear that he survived. Unable to comprehend such complexity of that event, that even for someone like him to survive something like that TRULY shows the level of will and strength he has, which proves to be something that should be feared. But it is why he respects a man like Captain Kagayaki. A respect that isn't quickly passed around in Shirogane's view. Then again, he was nothing but an embarrassment to the Kuchiki household. What would respect means to him now?
During the time of isolation wasn't just all training and books. There was a time where he, Shirogane, had to come and have a meeting within the Kuchiki manor. As the house continues to crumble, thanks to this list of shameful acts he has done three months prior. They all surrounded him in the dark like before; all eyes were placed on him, watching him, ready to talk down to him now that he was a lesser Kuchiki.
"You, Kuchiki Shirogane, has been allowed to regain honor in the eyes of the Kuchiki, and yet you continued to fail us, you continue to make us look weak in the eyes of the Great Noble Houses. Not only do you make us look sickly, you're son has disappeared, and reports say you were the last to see him Division 4. Which makes it seems like you are hiding him or you did something to him to prevent him from ascending to the role of Head of this clan. Let's not forget you got into with Division 2 Lieutenant and lost! Then you waste your power to save a bunch of country bumpkin trash of soul reapers before fleeing yourself. Kuchiki Shirogane, your actions proved to the clan and myself that you are worthless to this house. We will not sit idly by and watch you slander our name with such atrocity. You are as a result of this stripped of being a member of this house. Furthermore, a full investigation of you're son's whereabouts will commence by our people. And you no longer hold any royal status, so you cannot gain any access to the unauthorized areas any longer. You're wife, and unborn child shall also leave this manor. You are lucky we do not have them executed. Now, if you have no words to share, leave your kenseikans, and remove yourself from our presence."
With that, Shirogane did not share any words to them, and there was nothing to say, nothing he could say or even do at this point. Going against them would be........a death sentence. The thought of the threat towards Tsukiyo and unborn had him staring with such a dark and evil glare. He has already been stripped of everything, and now he was to allow them to threaten his wife? The disgusted looks of all their faces suddenly disappeared, wearing the look of distress. One by one, each member of the board was slain, each fallen in their pool of blood. A single strike of the eight members of the board members were killed in their place. Now Shirogane painted in crimson substances, walls, and floor within this space been decorated with the same color that's worn on Shirogane. Both eyes closed shut to allow this rush to simmer in his thoughts, no regrets within his mind and heart. Guards soon rushed in While Shirogane picked up a white and red scarf and wrapped it around his neck.
"I am the Head of the Kuchiki Clan now."
The very words Shirogane stated while staring at the guards with a blank expression, offering them a chance for revenge for him single-handedly murdering all of the board members of the Kuchiki house. They knew they didn't have the power or the strength to oppose, and therefore they didn't have a choice but to submit to his reign. His Mother walked-in to see what has unfolded and was in shock to see what her son has committed. These events were never shared or told outside of these walls, Shirogane, self-proclaimed Head of the Kuchiki clan made sure that those that remain understood the punishment if they ever went against him.
Currently, not a word has been leaked beyond the Kuchiki manor since a month ago. Even now, you would find Shirogane training in a room within his barracks. He is practicing sword swings, form, and footing with a wooden stick within this ample space with not a member of Division 6 around to see him. He would practice iaido and vertical swing strikes. "Kuchiki-sam-" the shinigami had been cut off with just a single raise of a hand to where Shirogane replied
"I know."
