"Are you finished, Lt. Yasu Yūgure?
Her eyes narrowed.
“You have no power here.”
Shirogane had mentioned the other captains not being present due to a lack of notification. Though it had nothing to do with any other division than to those present, other than Arashi and herself. Arashi just happened to stumble in by chance. Meanwhile, she was here on her own accord. His calm demeanor was unsettling, and by chance, there was the possibility that the confidence he exuded would put her claims to rest. She had the information on the embezzlements being passed around, but there had to be more. If none of the patrol units could even get close enough to the compound nor the barracks, then she would have to rely on her skills.
Those eyes of hers darted around. They were there surrounding Yasu without a word. And the rest present had all eyes on her. What would she do?
The Second Division was unpredictable. They were dangerous and currently pegged as treacherous snakes meant to overthrow the balance of the Soul Society. The Second Division were sacrificial lambs to the cause, and they all knew well of their role. As a unit, they understood what they were meant to be, how they would be seen and unseen amongst the crowd. Each member of the cause did what they did, knowing that the recognition that every other shinigami within the thirteen court guards received would never become theirs. Yet, they prevail; she prevails. Even if it meant becoming hated, she would do as she was supposed to, and uphold the code and honor of what it meant to be a shinigami and a member of the Second Division.
Both Arashi and Captain Oda were uneasy. The shortness of breath and the pounding of their hearts were deafening to the ever sensitive lieutenant, but she hadn’t wavered. Those three months spent training until she broke advanced more than her power capacity and physical attributes: those small pauses, the opening, and closing of his eyes before he spoke to her. Yasu had watched everything as carefully as she could. Before his order for arrest, Yasu could see that Arashi was to say something in her stead, but it was silenced by the command of the Head.
Removing her hands from behind her back, Yasu held them extended at her sides, palms up. Around her, four guards immediately arrived upon his final say, and then a fifth bearing cuffs capable of sealing her reiatsu. Rolling her shoulder back, the movement would quickly put those guards on edge, but she complied and placed her hands behind her back once they took her zanpakuto.
Click went the cuff, and for good measure, Yasu flexed her hands as if in an attempt of some physical construct of energy, but nothing happened.
"This is an absolute mess... I was not prepared for any of this today..."
Letting out a soft huff to mask her amusement, Yasu glanced over to Tenzen. This new captain was amusing. If he ever got the chance to lower his uneasiness around her, maybe the two of them could exchange a word or two before she raided his fridge. Taking one last glance around her from where the five guards stood, Yasu grumbled beneath her breath. If her captain had gotten word of this, this would’ve been the time that he’d laugh his heart out. In her thoughts, Yasu was suddenly shoved forward, and a grunt came out of it. Twisting her head back, she glared at the guard behind, but they offered no reaction. Standing at the same height, it was a close standoff. Turning back around, she trudged on forward, kicking at the ground beneath her, dust floating into the air and all.
“Kagome, kagome
Ushiro no shoumen dare?”
Another shove and Yasu grit her teeth, but no sound came. These royal guards were disrespectful, but it could’ve been from the confidence of their Head’s attitude. Entering the gates, Yasu took a final glance of the outside, and those creaking doors came to a close.
Within the barracks, those members of the Sixth whispered amongst themselves at the sight of Yasu. They were scarce, though. The bodies of the Sixth Division were little around the barracks. Hopefully, the two ahead of her would take notice of the trek towards the Kuchiki Compound. In the distance, a new set of wooden doors came into view, bearing the clan crest in the center. At the sight of Shirogane and the party, they opened, and Yasu squinted at the dazzling spectacle. Even her captain’s family compound wasn’t as pristine and unnaturally bright, but she figured that that was their shtick.
Upon passing those gates, the sight of the large pond before then had caught her attention. She was always drawn to water, and the sight of it was alluring. Inside the pool, Yasu could see the koi wading around, and she stuck her neck out to get a better view. However, it was blocked by one of the guards, and she pouted, her cheeks puffing out rather childishly.
Extending her point of view, to the left, a small building, cut off from the rest. Something personal? Perhaps. However, before them, a grand building that caused Yasu to sweat. The two guards that stood at the doors pushed them inwards, and before she could move any further forward, She was shoved over in another direction. This was the third time, and she was itching to do something about it.
Yasu was then escorted down a separate corridor, away from the rest of the party. Looking around her, the hallway was spacious. Barren. Untainted. The clanking of her chains was the only thing breaking the silence. The six of them turned another corner, and she started wriggling. The other party was growing farther and farther away from them, and as they grew closer to the basement, the lights grew dimmer, and things far quieter.
“Hey.”
No one answered.
“Yah! I know you guys talk.”
“Silence, Lieutenant Yūgure. For your sake.”
“Oh, come on. I’m gonna be here for a while, so what’s a conversation going to hurt. I know. Wanna see a trick? I’m like really good at those. Taichou doesn’t like me bothering him because he’s always busy, but Micchan and Kocchan like to keep me company. Honoka-san always likes to watch me do my stuff. She calls it interesting, but I still need to work on it a bit more. It’s not a lot, but I think it’s pretty cool.”
“Lieutenant Yūgure, please,” To her front, the guard on the right pulled them to a stop to turn and look at her.
“We’re just doing our job- What is that sound--”
Yasu kept her face set in a rather innocent smile even as she straightened her arms and stretched her arms out behind her, rolling her shoulders and wrists, her arms from behind her back rose up and over her head. The other guards wouldn't dare to look at her contortions, though she could feel the grimaces forming as they listened to the popping of her joints. When her arms rested comfortably in front of her, she held her hands out towards them, cackling and waving her arms around. That first guard was disgusted, even going so much as to comment, but he was quickly cut off with a sharp headbutt to his chin that dislocated it easily.
The sight of the sudden assault stunned the other four, and that was more than enough time for Yasu to lash out violent kicks all straight to the head of the three at the other corners, and they all fell in order from left to right. Saving them from making a sound, Yasu guided their descent with her foot. When all that was left was the one bearing her blade, she closed the distance between them within an instant, taking hold of his wrists as they held her sword and using them to keep him in place. Backing him up against the wall, she lifted his hands and pressed them against his neck.
"Hey.”
...
Rounding the corners of the manor was a pair of guards, chatting between themselves and sneaking in chuckle or two. They dusted themselves off and massaged at their head and jaw accordingly before they managed to come into earshot of the entrance which they came through. Voices became clearer to distinguish separate entities. The Head of the Clan had issued that they leave their zanpakuto at the door. From what they could hear, Captain Oda had issued an order to his subordinates in response.
"Set up a perimeter around the Manor and cast a barrier. No one gets in or out without my order, those of you remaining your orders still stand."
They'd begin soon. Taking a glance at one another, they gave a nod and went their separate ways, the short guard headed down the opposite hallway from the basement and the other, rising up a set of stairs that led to the second level. Within the building, just having a single door to enter in wasn't enough. There was a guarantee that if perhaps an incident happened, there'd be another door to leave out from. Head twisting and turning, they marveled at just how spacious this building was when a single door graced their visuals and exited.
Down in the basement, it was near empty, save for one. It was cold inside the cell and stifling. Nothing but thick walls, and darkness. Pained groans echoed in the lonesome self. The scuffle had proved far too much to bear. The clanking of chains rattled as the thin frame twitched, though otherwise unresponsive to even the slightest sound. The smell of blood was heavy, no doubt the power in numbers had finally got the upper hand on the vicious lieutenant, already crippled from the damned shackles... She was hidden from first glance, resting tightly in the corner and balled up in what may have been done in shame. She'd be a laughing stock. Surely word was already spreading of the brat's demise.
