Before Ryuga stepped into the Senkaimon (穿界門, World Penetration Gate; Viz "Tunnel World Gate") his thoughts revealed to him something important in a moment of clarity.
“ I told Izanagi to master his Zanpakuto using the Jizen stance, with his unnatural power and the performance he displayed in the spar.''
Ryuga knew that this was not going to be an average session if he did come into his current spiritual state. From training with his own zanpakuto Ryuga knew, there is no holding back when it comes to mastering their powers, as evident from the bleeding that still hindered his legs. With that in mind, Ryuga knew that while Shizuka needed help in Naruki City, when was the 3rd Seat ever calling for help in these troubling times? He was reluctant for Ryuga to come anyways. With all of these thoughts set into place, Ryuga halted his steps towards the Senkaimon, and made a complete turn as he headed directly back to his room.
The guards look at him in surprise and they can only wonder why he changed his mind. As he passes them, Ryuga tells them in a quiet tone that Fuyuko will not know about his choice to not go to Naruki City and help the 3rd seat Shizuka. The guards themselves do not know what happened, but Ryuga's words had such an effect on them that there was nothing to do but nod quietly acknowledging his decision. As he walks on, he controls his Reiryoku from pouring out and hides his presence inside the Barracks. He does this to avoid the eyes of Lieutenant Fuyuko - for the moment - knowing that by not following orders one can be led to unwanted problems. To hide that he has not left yet, he deactivated his shikai. The golden and red gauntlet lights up as the glove on the right hand flows towards the left as the light turns into the sealed form of Amikiri.
In silence, Ryuga walks towards the dormitories of the barracks with the sealed Zanpakuto in his hand and hopes that he does not run into anyone. If he now manages to get all the way to his room again without being seen, he would go in to sit on the only chair in the room close to the small window. Quiet and waiting to get a chance to try to contact Izanagi without getting in trouble. He looks at the empty and half-empty bottles on the floor with whisky before turning his gaze to the window.
”Now I'll just wait and see what happens.”
The window, which is always open, blows some fresh air into the otherwise smoky room and Ryuga then proceeds to take off the top of his Shihakusho and grabs a pack of Cigars from the table and his zippo lighter. He quietly picks up a cigar and puts it in his mouth and slide his thumb up the side of the Zippo that’s opposite the side with the hinge to open it then he simply slides his thumb downward quickly to turn the wheel which will strike the flint, resulting in the wick catching the flame to light his cigar.
