Weight: 79.38km (175lbs)
Blood Type: O-
Affiliation: Eto Heavy Industries
Role: Superhero
Occupation: Test Pilot
Base of Operations: Naruki City
Notable Features: Justin is a healthy young Japanese-American male in his early twenties. Tall, dark, and handsome, the golden hues of his eyes contrast against his tan skin and dark hair. Given his profession as a test-pilot for corporations like Section 88 and Kimura Enterprises, Justin is an incredibly fit individual with an athletic build. When not wearing his jumpsuit uniform, or clad in his Fullbring armor, he opts to wear a simple black T-shirt and jeans. Regardless of his attire however, Justin wears a red-banded watch around his wrist, which he never takes off, even when showering or sleeping.
Personality: A kind and confident individual, Justin carries an air of charisma around him. Those who encounter him cannot help but feel themselves gravitate towards the man, feeling a sense of security in his presence. Despite being sure of his abilities, Justin is a humble and sincere person, caring greatly for the wellbeing of the people he meets. Always polite to those around him, he is very gracious to others, though he can grow bored and impatient when things are slow. He possesses no fear of danger, and will put his life on the line to protect others. This reckless fearlessness is exactly why he is so good at his job, performing the most dangerous maneuvers to test the safety of experimental equipment. He blames himself for his mother’s death, believing that if he had only been faster he could save her. Vowing to never make the same mistake, he is constantly pushing his limits through skill and luck, staring death in the face everyday and refusing to blink, aspiring to be faster, to work harder, and go above and beyond his limitations. This path, along with awakening the full power of his Fullbring, has set him on the journey of heroism, choosing to use his powers for good. When performing feats of Heroism as Watchman, the nature of his fullbring ability will alter Justin’s personality, bestowing him with an energy and enthusiasm for virtue befitting of an American comic book. The Watchman transforms into a paradigm of moral goodness, with this shift in personality and tone further helping to conceal Justin’s identity.
Hollow Experience: Though Justin’s mother had encountered a Hollow when she was pregnant, his Fullbring powers would not awaken until Fourteen Years later, when he himself would encounter a Hollow as a child. His mother had taken the young Justin outside of the city, going out of her way to bring him to his favorite ice cream parlor in the next town over. Eating his ice cream while he walked, the young Justin was distracted, and began to lag behind his mother. Realizing how far behind he was, his mother turned to call for him, and in that moment, tragedy struck. An explosion was detonated above the street, consuming her in fire and hurdling Justin into a nearby tree. The authorities would later claim this was a gas leak, but what Justin did not know was that the source of the explosion was in truth, a Hollow. A creature that had taken its own life to prevent being captured by Shinigami. When Justin came to, he was unaware that he had been exposed to the energy of a Hollow, and that this power would forever affect his very soul.
Relatives: Justin’s Father was an American Rescue Pilot, who died in a plane crash before Justin was born. His Mother was a Japanese woman who was saved from a horrible fire by his Father. Widowed, she would work tirelessly to provide her son with a good life, and instill into him the value of kindness, before ultimately perishing in a tragic accident.
Reiryoku Level: Immense Spiritual Power
A man of extraordinary willpower with a fervent passion for the protection of life, Justin possesses an immense amount of spiritual power. With the use of his fullbring he never seems to exhaust his reserves. Due to the nature of his clad-type ability, Justin’s Reiryoku literally never depletes, causing the man to seem as though he has an infinite store of Reishi within him. However, while his Reiryoku remains at its fullest level, there is still a maximum to the amount of power Justin’s body can possess. This limit is maintained by Justin’s own will as well as what he considers to be possible. When his fullbring is active, Justin wields a pool of Reiryoku as vast as that of a Vasto Lorde, and as refined as though he had spent every single day of his life doing nothing but training his stores of spiritual power.
Sensing Reiryoku: Basic
Having only just awakened his spiritual powers, Justin is unfamiliar with the intricacies of sensing spiritual pressure. Though he is able to see a spiritual entity such as a hollow or Jibakurei, he is not able to track or trace them by following their spiritual ribbons. However, he is able to see and feel the effects of a soul’s reiatsu, and does display a basic instinctual ability to sense reishi with his pre-existing physical senses. Likely derived from the powers of his fullbring, Justin also displays two unique sensing phenomena. The first being the ability to slow his senses down to the point where time is perceived to stand still. While he is capable of thinking and perceiving in this state, he is not able to move or act. Even something as miniscule as shifting his eyes is impossible while time is frozen, causing his ability to see to be limited to where he was already looking before slowing his perception. The second ability appears to make up for this however, as it is an instinctual gut feeling that danger is about to occur, a sort of sixth sense that warns Justin of an incoming threat as well as its direction. Further, this ability to sense danger does not apply solely to himself, as he is able to sense when those around him are in peril as well. With these sensing abilities, Watchman can arrive on scene and analyze it as well as the incoming threat in a single instant, saving those who are in immediate danger. Without such a skill, he would be pulled along by his Armament-Spear with no sense of coherence or direction.
Reiryoku Control: Average Control
Never having been familiar with the concept of Reishi until now, Justin still remains ignorant towards its ways. For one, he is not even aware that Reishi is Spiritual Energy, and believes it to be some sort of cosmic energy or psychic power. Nonetheless he displays a skilled level of control for someone so oblivious to the nuances of Reishi. The flow and manipulation of his energy comes intuitively to Justin, who has spent a great deal of his life learning how to control the experimental and fly on the unknown. Unable to conceal his presence from those of talented sensory ability, he is still capable of turning his flow of Reiatsu on or off, able to manipulate the amount of power he releases, and even able to form it into rudimentary shapes such as crescent, as well as control his level of fullbring to harness bringer light.
Reiatsu: Expert
When fully released as the Watchman, Justin’s Reiatsu becomes quite literally monstrous. To those familiar with the creaturre, Watchman’s Spiritual Pressure takes on aspects similar to that of a Vasto Lorde’s. The hero in this form possesses the greatest amount of Reiatsu his human soul could ever potentially achieve. Any enemy capable of sensing the scale of his Reiatsu will find themselves quaking in fear before a monster of spiritual power. However, Justin, unaware of Reiatsu’s purpose or usefulness, has never learned to weaponize his spiritual energy, thus rendering his untapped level of power utterly useless. To Justin, and those who consider themselves his ally, the Reiatsu he emits simply appears as a green flame. Its release corresponds to Justin’s mindset at any given time, exploding in full against an opponent’s powerful attack, or simmering down when he carries a bystander to safety. Though the fully released power of his Reiatsu is enough to utterly destroy a battlefield, Justin never seems to utilize it in such a way, with any collateral damage he may cause being completely unintentional. Further, he seems to be subconsciously able to differentiate between friend and foe, explaining why his Reiatsu’s pressure might appear monstrous to some, but harmless to others. Regardless, the Hero’s Reiatsu remaining an untapped well of potential allows the Watchman to go what he calls “Full Turbo” wherein he surpasses his limits and enters a plus ultra state of increased spiritual power, ensuring that he will almost always match and overcome a foe so long as the power of his will permits it. To achieve this state however the Watchman must be fully dedicated to saving someone other than himself, laying his life on the line in order to protect the weak.
Reiatsu Colors: Green Reiatsu Type: Temporal
Reiatsu Effects:
Calming- The Watchman’s presence invokes a sense of security in the allies of those who feel it. A feeling of relief will wash over those in trouble, as if their worries have faded away with his arrival. Those who consider Watchman an ally will be filled with a sense of protection, as though they are safe in the Hero’s hands. While enemies of the Watchman will feel as though they are incapable of harming anyone besides him, having to seize the opportunity to attack lest they be slaughtered by the monster they see before them. The physical pressure of their release, as well as the imposing sensation of their killing intent will be matched then negated, with Watchman’s own pressure serving to relieve those subjected to such things.
Slowing- At times, Watchman’s presence will affect the flow of time of all physical and spiritual objects and energies around him. When subjected to this effect, onlookers will perceive Watchman’s movements in slow motion, particularly when he is in the heat of battle or in the midst of saving someone. Beyond simply a visual affliction, Watchman’s Reiatsu affects the souls of the objects around him, causing rain to come to a standstill, or a sword to slow to a crawl mid swing. This leads to the creation of memorable heroic moments, inspiring those who witness such deeds, and burning the instance in time into their memories. Many of those who are saved by the Watchman will recount an inspiring image of a Hero’s cape blowing in the wind, as he carries survivors from a burning building or other such feats. The opponents of the Watchman are also subjected to this effect, their perception altered and their bodies moving at an even slower rate, forced to watch as the Hero strikes them down with a deciding blow,
Together, these two Reiatsu Effects create instances straight out of American Comics or Japanese Manga, mimicking the striking emotional inspiration and visual heroism of their panels.
Fullbring Level: Expert
New to the life of a Fullbringer Justin has not spent much time learning about the origin or intricacies of his ability. Luckily for him however, the abilities granted by his Fullbring are incredibly intuitive, once he got past the disorientation of using them that is. Due to his clad-type acting passively, and his armament-type seeming to function on its own, Justin simply needs to go along for the ride, in the same way that a jet propels a pilot. Once accustomed to the initial learning curve of utilizing his powers, Justin does not struggle to maintain them or otherwise active them. He is seemingly able to remain in his fullbring state for an indefinite amount of time, with its activation feeling as comfortable as a second skin to him. However, with him remaining at this level without knowing how to fully train his abilities, it can be speculated that Justin only scratches the surface of his Fullbring’s potential application.
Bringer Light Level: Master
Ever since his mother died ten years ago, Justin has always felt that if he were a little faster he could have gotten to her in time to save her. With this guilt driving him, Justin dedicated the next ten years of his life towards increasing his speed. Enrolling in flight school, even the military grade jets were not fast enough for him, causing Justin to work under the employ of private corporations flying their experimental new planes just to test the boundaries of speed. Pushing the limits for the majority of his life, when Justin finally discovered his Fullbring the first technique he mastered was the bringer light. Coming to him as naturally as breathing, Justin can move on instinct at near instantaneous speed. Even his Fullbring can be considered a manifestation of his need to go faster, to be in time to save the day. This speed however is not so much a boon as a crutch, as without it, his time-slowing sensing capabilities, and the time-altering effects of his reiatsu, it is unlikely Justin would ever be able to keep up with the power of his Armament-Spear.
Hand to hand Combat Level: Expert
An incredibly heavy hitter, when Watchman is clad in his fullbring, he possesses the peak physicality of what Justin could achieve with a lifetime of training. Combining this raw physical strength with the boundlessness of his reiryoku and the instantaneous perception of his sensory ability, Watchman becomes an incredibly fearsome close quarters combatant. Though he primarily uses his Armament Fullbring as a melee weapon, Watchman shows no hesitation to solve a problem with his fists. When it comes to style, the Hero reveals his western roots, as Watchman primarily takes on the techniques of American Boxing. A true icon of the super Hero archetype, his fighting style is punch heavy, and focuses on overpowering strength and quick speed to knock out an opponent with a single punch, or if necessary, a flurry. His charges can be considered head-strong and reckless, acting without fear of consequence or injury.
Stamina Level: Immense
Given that his clad-type fullbring constantly restores Justin to his physical, spiritual, and mental prime, Watchman’s stamina is very likely endless. He never seems to physically tire, or run out of spiritual reserves, nor does he ever appear to rest or otherwise doze off. When clad in this fashion, he does not need to worry about things such as injuries or exhaustion, and can maintain combat for as long as necessary. Maintaining the pinnacle of what he can be, Watchman has been described as “high energy”, displaying a loud enthusiasm for virtue and justice. Likely due to his adrenaline being constantly peaked, Watchman’s energy and enthusiasm never wanes, maintaining a Super Heroic outlook on life and remaining incessantly positive. This mood, like all other aspects of Watchman, remains at a constant peak. However, when Justin deactivates his fullbring he is immediately bombarded with an intense exhaustion and sickness, similar to that of a hangover after a blackout-night of binge drinking, as his body recovers from the intense highs of donning his Fullbring.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ace Pilot Ridden with guilt at watching his mother’s death in a violent explosion, Just blames himself for being too slow to save her. At the age of Fourteen he used his inheritance to enroll into a flight academy, and dedicated himself towards becoming a pilot. Soon he was flying some of the fastest jets in the world, an ace pilot and aerialist in the Japanese airforce. However even these super-sonic vehicles were not fast enough for Justin. Dissatisfied, he took a job piloting experimental aircrafts for high-end corporations like Eto Heavy Industries, formerly known as Section 88. Flying through the ranks in such a way, Justin’s career can be considered one of legends among pilots and speed-aficionados, holding over three world records for the fastest human piloted travel times. He is capable of pulling off maneuvers that would get any other pilot killed, and his tenacity and stubbornness are likely the only thing that has kept him alive after some of the flights he has pulled off.
Equipment:
• S88 Experimental Fighter Jet The pinnacle of technological achievement, this rocket powered fighter jet is considered one of the most valuable assets in development at Eto Heavy Industries. The first Fighter-Jet designed to breach the Earth’s atmosphere and return at will, moving beyond Mach 5 super-sonic speeds into the realm of Mach 20 hypersonic speeds. This piece of technology could easily be called the fastest vehicle in existence, and its importance as an asset is the very reason it is locked away off site in a secret hangar in Naruki City, known as Hangar S88. Justin is the only soul on earth that has authorization to pilot the vehicle, given his stellar track record and unparalleled flight skill. It is his job to push the limits of the Vehicle’s speed. Unbeknownst to Justin, the vehicle runs on spiritual energy, having been developed using Quincy Technology. Eto Heavy Industries is owned and operated by high ranking Quincy, a race that Justin has no concept of. The S88 Fighter-Jet has secretly been developed to safely combat hollows from a distance, and equip the Quincy with a dangerous new weapon, functioning as a sort of ginto-fueled new form of Quincy Arrow. However, the vehicle is incredibly unstable, and though the company and pilot are unaware, the hollow energy of Justin’s fullbringer nature poisons the craft, stabilizing the quincy energy. In turn, piloting the craft takes a toll on Justin, which he has attributed only to the G-force of the vehicle's high-speeds, despite being able to surpass such speeds with his own Fullbring abilities. In his mind, it's not his job to solve the problem, just pilot the thing.
Item Affinity
Justin’s Item Affinity is a golden red-banded watch that he wears around his wrist at all times. . This watch used to belong to his father, pulled from the flaming wreckage of his plane crash. Never having any pictures to reference, this watch is the only thing he has to remember his father by. The black arrowheads of its hands were frozen in place upon impact of the explosion that killed Justin’s mother, causing the item to reflect the tragic loss of both of his parents. Though it does not function properly, Justin wears it all the same, cherishing it above all other possessions. It represents Justin’s guilt over being too slow, and his commitment to always be on time to save those who need it. When he activates his fullbring, the watchband transforms into his armor, while the hands of the watch form his obsidian spear.
Fullbring Name:
EX MACHINA
(元マチナ, lit. “Gen Machina”, VIZ. “Former Machinations”)
Fullbring Form:
When Ex Machina is activated, the watch around Justin’s wrist begins to transform. The face and band of the watch morph into a powerful Clad-type armor that encompasses Justin’s entire being and gives Watchman his iconic look. While the hands of the watch detach and extend into a massive obsidian Armament Spear. Both of these Fullbrings represent an aspect of time, in particular the theory of multiple timelines, and reflect Justin’s internal guilt about not being fast enough to save his Mother.
Fullbring Ability:
•Clad-Armor:The Knight-like Armor possesses the ability to reach into the past, future, and parallel timelines, to transform Justin’s body into the peak of its full possible potential. Physically, he is bestowed with all of the health and strength that he could have possibly achieved across any potential timeline, including those where he dedicated every day of his life towards improving his physique. This armor even pulls its borrowed power from the future, giving Watchman the maximum level of Spiritual Power that he will ever achieve in any timeline, the implications of such remaining unknown to the naive wielder.
It is not just his power that is boosted, but literally every aspect of Justin becomes accelerated to its maximum potential. This includes things such as senses, as well as chemical reactions and emotions. Justin’s adrenaline is pushed to its maximum, feeling every ounce of adrenaline he will ever feel or has ever felt in every timeline all at once. The same applies to his emotions, boosting his positive traits while removing his negative ones. This causes Watchman to have a much different personality than Justin, showcasing an unwavering positive energy and dedication to heroic virtues.
Due to the Suit’s ability to borrow from time, nothing Justin expends or receives as Watchman holds any permanence. When he expends massive amounts of spiritual energy, his reserves instantly refill, simply borrowing from the time when they were fully at their peak, and restoring Justin to that state. The same applies to physical stamina and endurance as well, with Justin never feeling physical exhaustion or exertion. When the Suit is damaged or Justin is injured, the Fullbring will restore both of them back to their prime, causing the Hero to fight freely as though his actions possess no consequences to himself. However, the suit is unable to bestow anything upon others, meaning that Watchman will prioritize the safety of others above himself anytime. Further, unbeknownst to Justin, the suit is unable to bring him back from the dead. If he receives an instantaneously lethal critical wound, his suit will be unable to restore itself, and he will die. Regardless, the strength, stamina, endurance, and power that he receives from this suit is what gives Watchman his superhero quality, with Naruki’s indomitable Defender standing out as a pillar of Strength.
•Armament-Spear: The hand of time functions as Watchman’s most prominent weapon, a large black spear that possesses the ability to pierce through space and time. Where the armor works to borrow power from timelines and channel it to the user, the spear functions to pierce through these timelines and transport the user. The Armament-Spear will sort through every branching and alternate timeline, weighing every possible outcome to every possible action. From these, the spear will select the time and place with the most favorable outcome to Justin, and then manifest there. Essentially, the spear has the ability to instantaneously transport to exactly where it needs to be in that precise moment. Justin himself has no control over where the spear takes him or travels on its own, however since it will always appear exactly where it needs to be, he does not need to control it, but simply go along for the ride. With this, Watchman will always appear where he is needed most, manifesting out of thin air just in time to save some poor citizen. In combat, he will instantly appear in the most favorable location, manifesting in an opponent's blindspot or taking advantage of their most crucial opening. The weapon appears to function on its own, and can be sent out as a projectile to pierce through space and time and manifest right where it needs to be. This same ability also allows Watchman to summon the spear when he most needs it, but not necessarily upon command.
There are three drawbacks to the seemingly undefeatable maneuverability of the armament Spear. The first being that the spear can not manifest in more than one place at a time, causing it to automatically choose the best outcome of where to manifest between two simultaneous moments. This means that at times where Justin might use the spear to defend himself, but the spear might also be used to defend someone else in danger, it will choose to allow Justin to get harmed, while manifesting to protect the other victim. The reason why and how it chooses where to appear is a mystery to Justin, who is unable to see the alternate timelines or their outcomes. At times the spear can seem to have manifested to Justin’s detriment, with him not realizing the long term consequences that he has now avoided. The second drawback is that the spear does not appear capable of manifesting within a sentient being, or rather, it is not able to appear within a space or time that would automatically harm someone. Instead, the spear will appear at the most crucial opening, manifesting exactly one inch away from the target. It must then, whether by Justin’s hand or preexisting velocity, be physically moved to deliver the blow. This does provide an opportunity for an opponent to avoid the blade, albeit only until the spear manifests in the new opening or critical location. The third drawback derives from the fact that there does not appear to be a limit to the amount of times that the spear can transport itself through space and time, as rapid transportation can become disorienting. Simply manifesting in the exact instant and location the spear needs to be does not guarantee that Watchman will know enough context of where he is, or why he is there, to act instantly. Oftentimes Watchman will appear somewhere unexpected, and be just as thrown off as his opponent, before the moment has passed and he must be transported again. To compensate for this drawback, Justin has been imbued with a sensing ability that slows times to a halt, as well as picks up on immediate danger. Further, he has been blessed with a Reiatsu that physically slows down time around him, and is gifted with a mastery over his bringer light level, granting him unparalleled speed as a Fullbringer. Together, all of these abilities work to help negate the disorientation that comes with instantaneous speed, allowing Justin to take a moment to adjust to his surroundings and assess a threat, without literally taking away that moment to act. In essence, Watchman's entire arsenal functions to help him play catch up with the instant speed of his spear, which he continues to chase after and be dragged behind, unable to keep up with power of his own ability.

Biography: Born in Japan under the care of his mother, Justin was never able to meet his father, an American Rescue Pilot who died in a tragic incident. He was raised in Japan by his mother until the age of fourteen. Taking a trip to his favorite ice cream parlor in Karakura, Justin and his mother were unaware of the spiritual battle happening around them. At this time, former Lieutenant Omoni Hageshi had been sent to procure a Hollow with the aid of Thirteenth Division, to heal one Former Lieutenant Jinnosuke Ueku. When the Hollow was apprehended by Omoni, rather than be captured, it chose to end its own life in a cataclysmic explosion. While the Shinigami would survive this explosion, the poor Humans below would fall victim to it. A fourteen year old Justin was forced to watch as his mother was engulfed in flame before his very eyes. This would be his second encounter with a Hollow since his Mother was pregnant with him, and the exposure to such energy coupled with the emotional outrage of the incident, would awaken something within him.
Orphaned, he enrolled into a flight Academy, idolizing the stories he had heard of his father growing up. Rising through the ranks, Justin displayed a unique aptitude for high speed maneuvers, never seeming to suffer from G-force, and always appearing to take in his surroundings regardless of the speed he moved at. With this, he enlisted into the Japanese airforce, where he quickly rose through the ranks and set his first world speed record. Obsessed with the idea of increasing his speed, riddled with the guilt of being too slow to save his mother, Justin quickly became bored with the military’s vehicles. He began working on contracts for private Corporations, such as Kimura enterprise, test flying their experimental new equipment. Now working for Eto Heavy Industries, with three world speed records under his belt, Justin flys the experimental Quincy Fighter Jet known as S-88.
On a routine test run one day, Justin witnessed a Garganta open in the sky. Nothing appeared on his radar or ground-control ‘s instruments, but with his own eyes he could see a horrendous creature appear out of the hole in the sky. Pursuing such a creature, Justin believed that what he was witnessing was an Alien encounter. The Hollow quickly retaliated towards being followed, and the two engaged in an aerial battle. Unfamiliar with such an opponent, Justin stood no chance, especially in what he believes to be a Human Aircraft. After a brief engagement, the Alien, or Hollow, sent a ball of cosmic energy, in truth a Cero, through the hull of the aircraft, causing the S-88 to explode with Justin inside. Engulfed in a flaming inferno, the same as his mother, Justin believed his death was at hand. However, instead of being consumed by the fire, he was safely standing on the ground, instead of being engulfed in flame, he was encased in some sort of suit. Confused, he watched the S-88 Mark-1 crash and burn as it fell from the skies above Naruki city. His encounter with the Hollow and his near-death experience had activated the Fullbring that had secretly awoken in him at the age of Fourteen. The secret power that fuelled his sensing abilities throughout his whole life.
In desperation he reached out as though towards the aircraft, only for a black spear to manifest in his hand. The moment he gripped the spear, he found himself in an entirely new place, with a man pointing a gun at his chest, and a woman crying behind him. It was as though he had been transported to an active crime scene. The would-be-mugger pulled the trigger, only for his bullet to bounce off Justin’s chest. The mugger was quickly disposed of, and the woman saved. Justin went to speak with her, grabbing his spear, but once again he found himself in a new place. Here a child was running down the street, pursued by yet another alien monster. Fighting this creature, Justin realized that the whole of Naruki city had been secretly invaded by such beings, and after saving the child, he committed himself to becoming Naruki’s Guardian Protector. Though he was confused about what was happening, he knew at that moment that his life was given a new direction. His Father, his Mother, and himself had all perished now to fire, but from this flame something new emerged. From this flame, the Watchman was born.
