Yayoi's original business agreement with what seemed to be an ordinary fashion company ultimately led to her involvement with other Fullbringers. Her day-to-day doings didn't change much, though her place of broadcasting had relocated to the base of operation of her newfound allies. She had occupied an old office that had functioned as a board room of sorts, remodeling it into two rooms that functioned as an office of sorts and also a broadcasting studio. Being of more of a reclusive nature, she rarely left her space while within the building.
Yayoi laid along her couch, flicking through social media mindlessly. The endless posts pass by with each swipe. Each of them added to the hypnotic trance that she was in, completely absorbed by the words and images of her peers and the other individuals she followed. Today was without a livestream, though she had decided to come in to adjust some assets for the UI of her broadcast. She had handled that rather quickly and had gotten sidetracked through her various social applications. There was no real hurry to head back home, where it'd be a lot of the same. Yayoi had noticed the increase in Hollow activity as well as the presence of other individuals, but assumed that the situation would be handled by those that had continued to flood onto the scene.
They obviously would have it handled. Why else would so many people be arriving or making themselves known within the city? Just a few more minutes of scrolling. Just a few more swipes. Surely they have this handled.
""Yayoi, hollows are rampaging through the city. Why don't you go play some games with them?"
Stephania's voice emerged from the intercom that rested on her nearby desk. Yayoi let out a sigh, hoping that she could have avoided the craziness that was outside the walls of this building. What exactly were the Shinigami doing that they weren't handling the Hollows that increasingly occupied Naruki? They literally had one job here and it wasn't being done. Tachibana stretched her arm outward towards the device on her desk's surface, fruitlessly snatching at the air. It was just out of her reach, well... a bit more than just out of her reach. She turned herself to get up from the seat and made a few strides forward to press the button on it.
"Yeah, sure. I'm on it."
Her rough tone came through on the mistress's end. Her response was simple and to the point, not opting to inquire about anything further nor express any retaliation for her involvement. At the end of the day, whether she wanted to or not, there were human lives in danger. Continuing her passivity would only cause more death to those that call this city home. It shouldn't require her attention, but a resolution to the situation was not coming anytime soon. All she really had to do was cut the numbers down and just keep cutting. Even if she couldn't end the swarm of corrupted souls, reducing their density should hopefully allow any other spiritually potent individual to aid in this mass culling.
Yayoi slid open the bottommost drawer of her desk, withdrawing a pair of rectangular holsters. She promptly attached them to her belt and made her way to the large window behind her. Tachibana slid through the aperture and climbed up the lower portion of its frame. She sprung with a green light emitting from around her feet, boosting the distance of the jump. She allowed herself to fall upon the neighboring building and leap from it in the same way, repeating this pattern as she grew nearer to the unwanted guests.
Upon her arrival to a pack of the unruly masked souls a series of puzzle pieces fell from within her sleeve. They shimmered with a pink light before connecting with each other. Their uniting manifested a set of six knives that she then grasped between each of her fingers. Tachibana flared her spiritual pressure to attract the attention of the Hollows that she had been rushing towards.
"Yo! Ya ugly bastards. Got a present for y'all."
Yayoi's spiritual energy condensed along the sextuplet blades, reinforcing and empowering them. She swiped her arms through the air, releasing the knives one after another. The projectiles each hit their mark, dead center of the Hollows' masks. They sent cracks across their faces, which eventually led to their total and utter destruction, extinguishing them from this world. She rushed towards the now falling weapons to catch them before they fully dropped, reverting them to their fragmented states, excluding one. With that knife still in hand, she looked forward and narrowed her eyes.
"Six down... Many to go."
