Hands shaking, Zanpakuto gripped tightly in a clenched fist. His nails dug into the skin of his palm where they met, nearly drawing blood.
It's just a hollow. A sleeping hollow. You can do this. Get it together!
Ranting at himself internally with such intensity it took four calls of his name before his partner grabbed his attention.
It was coming. He wished desperately that the Captain were there. With his support they wouldn't even need this many members putting themselves on the line over a stupid hollow. What was the point of bringing the damned thing inside of the clinic anyway? Akito had been given little information on the situation other than his particular role in the event: standing guard. He was to help retrieve it and keep the Kido users safe as well as ensure it didn't escape.
Rattling could be heard from his violent shaking. How long had it been since he had seen a real live hollow? And he was supposed to protect people from it? Anger began to replace his fear. It made no sense for him to have been chosen for such a mission. Who was in charge of putting this together? Gritting his teeth together he gave a determined look as he began to push past the others that all awaited in their coordinated positions. He refused.
I'm not disposable. They can't treat me this way they....
Confused faces surrounded him along with a few that were obviously annoyed. One woman opened her mouth to speak, leading him to put a hand up to stop the reprimand before it began. They were all putting their lives on the line. They had all been trained for this. If he harbored so much fear then perhaps he was due for some training time. With this in mind he shuffled back to his place, standing firmly as he looked forward with pride. He had been chosen for something special. He should be flattered, not offended. Everything moved quickly as Junko arrived, though with her by their sides he couldn't help but smile. He was confident in himself and his abilities. He would not fail his division.
It took little time for them to settle in, the transfer going so smoothly and quickly he wondered what he had ever been worried about. Before he knew it, though, he was inside the room with the hollow. His fear was not as high as before, though it was difficult to look at. He stood to the side of the door, his partner on the other side. As they stood their guard the advanced Kido users began working on their extra barriers as well as doing something with the hollow that he hoped meant it would lie there motionless until the ordeal was over.
So surrounded by many that he knew and did not, he could feel the incoming presence. Thinking little of it he kept his eyes firmly planted on the hollow as the others moved about. But it was still there. And it was closer. The creeping feeling of someone watching you made his skin crawl until he could no longer stand it and turned to look out the window in the door to catch sight of the one whose eyes were upon him. Despite the feeling he had he had not expected the strange purple hues that peeked into the room and eyed the hollow and could not hide his shock.
"There's another one!"
Accepting the heavy tome with both hands Junko thanked the woman before she went back to her duties. Opening the cover for a moment she read over the report that was filled in so far with a sigh. Paperwork was the bane of her existence. Written within was all the information Fourth had on the situation involving the hollow. From the point of deciding it was necessary to detailing the events in the World of the Living that led to its capture to its arrival in the hands of the other squad. Now it was her turn. Although this was an annoying concept she would have at least the opportunity to brief herself on what exactly was going on.
Annoyance subsiding as she had stumbled upon some type of good news it returned almost immediately as she felt the unmistakable reiatsu of the man from before. She wasn't quite sure why the man created such a feeling within her but it could not be helped. Turning to face him as she approached, head tilting slightly in confusion.
As he began to her teeth clenched despite herself. Though his words in themselves were innocent enough- even in their delivery-, she couldn't help but get the sensation she was being talked down to. She let her face remain passive as she listened to him, choosing not to reply to his questions and allowing him to continue bombarding her with them before he finally got to his true purpose in speaking to her.
The last syllable had barely rolled off his tongue when she raised her voice.
"No."
This silly, smiley woman harbored none of that brightness in that moment. The word alone was a complete shut down of any further conversation on the matter. Refusing to even give a reason and potentially open a debate with the man. It was not a possibility. Risking its escape with an unnecessary ordeal or even its death concerned her. It also struck her as a strange thing that a man in his position who visited the Living World so often would be so excited at the sight of one. There was nothing particularly special about this one that she was aware of; its current living quarters the only bizarre aspect of the situation and obviously not the source of his excitement.
Looking past him she faced the woman leading those handling the hollow for the moment.
"Send someone unessential to the Kido Corps for an expert to better our barrier. And don't forget to finish your sweeps,"
As the woman nodded and began her new orders Junko's eyes turned to the man, a light smile on her face as she returned to her care-taker role.
"this wing of the clinic is currently closed. You'll need to leave the area for now. I can have an escort help you find the nearest exit or I can escort you back to the patient you're here visiting."
A wary eye upon him, the others were quick to pick up on the sensation her reiatsu was sending out; her mistrust and preparation for a potential backlash from the man resonating within them all and creating a very alert group that surrounded the man.
