His hand gathered nothing but wind and a few strands of silvery hair. Daiki's ears perked back upright, but his face remained the same calm, emotionless state. The only thing endearing was his eyes, that seemed to gleam a little when Ashura dodged his grab.
Daiki's eyes squinted at him. Ashura didn't understand exactly what made Daiki a bit stronger than him and Katsuo, and that was experience. Although Daiki's experience mostly came from Division four, he was no pushover. Nobody from fourth truly was. At least, nobody from Yu Nakamoto's fourth division.
You had the fairy himself, specializing in Kido, he could have gone for Division five a long time ago if he wanted to. His skills were something to Marvel at. Lieutenant Hageshi, the Amazonian… now that was a true warrior, Zanjutsu and sheer physical strength unmatched. She was a fun wrestling partner, and a just as great warrior in her own rights.
Ashura however… it was made clear to Daiki he had a lot to learn. At least he put forth an effort to attack Daiki, and his first blow hit, even if it was Daiki that wanted to take the hit.
"It's our turn, Jūfuku Shōgi."
He said, as Ashura's punch was flung toward his jaw. Daiki wasn't underestimating the two. He was testing their strength, in his own way getting to know his newest squad mates. He's not one for idle conversations. Upon uttering the words of his release phrase, nothing happened. Absolutely nothing was different… at least for Katsuo and Ashura.
Perhaps it was Daiki that shouldn't be taken lightly as of this moment, for that punch with all of Ashura's force in it, would not hit Daiki, but again, open air. Ashura would see a silhouette of the fox man temporarily, as if he'd have shunpo-ed away. However, this was not the case. In fact, Daiki didn't move from his position at all. It was Ashura that moved. Anyone watching the battle, especially at their feet would realize something was off about the training ring now. The pocket of area around Ashura had shifted, as if it was a piece of some sort of dimensional jigsaw puzzle. Daiki's back, was now up against Ashura's back.
Daiki would take advantage of Ashura's probable surprise, and lower his body near the ground, to swipe his leg underneath Ashura's feet to try and knock the young man down. He'd then raise his own spiritual pressure, to even greater heights to pin the young man down.
Daiki would then draw the Zanpakuto located on his back, it's long blade would hardly leave room for Ashura to go anywhere from Daiki's pin. The fox man stood prideful, but kept his peace. He wouldn't use that blade to harm his squad mate, not like how the opponents out there, in the Rukongai would. It was just merely a show to Ashura, how much of a difference in strength it was that Daiki had compared to the two of them.
Daiki did not dodge. Ashura would have missed. What had happened was, upon activation of his Shikai, the playing field became a huge Square around Daiki, with twelve tinier squares within it. The playing field became a tiled board, of which orange colored squares only Daiki could see. Daiki simply moved the tiles he, and Ashura were standing in, and swapped them, making the illusion he'd Shunpo-ed.
