Shinigami

Knock. Knock. Knock.
”Lieutenant, you called for me?
For a moment after the man of raven hair spoke, a silence began to grow in the room, an eerie silence, one that was only able to be broken by the sound of his own breathing, which made him wonder if there was anyone actually in the room with him, a thought which probably doesn’t occur in the mind of other Shinigami visiting their superior, but with Nozamu it was different. His office desk for the current moment was in the most literal sense, covered in a mountain of books and papers of all kinds from some of the harder to access libraries in the Twelfth Division, it was obvious he was busy. Thankfully he was just finishing up on the latest paper he was writing as the sound of Nozamu placing a pen down on his desk gave him the definitive answer that he did not come here for naught and now he stood up straight.
Before standing up to speak with his subordinate, Nozamu lifted up the small stack of papers he had in his hand and lightly tapped it against the top of his desk, causing all of them to align perfectly at the edges, after finishing this task he set them back down and walked around to the front of his desk where the two of them finally locked eyes.
”I received a surprising amount of complaints that I am no longer overviewing each individual research request and instead passing it down to a few others below me. I understand why these complaints and fears exist, but for the meantime I am not running the Twelfth Division like a Democracy, I am focused purely on getting not only the research that I am doing done, but also figuring up as much data I can on our arrivals from the noble’s manor. I would truly appreciate it as not only your lieutenant, but also your friend if you tried to uphold morale for the current moment and also deliver this device to Nyūraku Kurotsuchi. Tell him that his direct orders are simple, plug the device into his research console, make a copy of all his hollow and vizard based research, then transfer it onto his device. After that he can just have it sent directly back to my office, but it doesn’t matter how quick he does it as all of it will be instantly sent to me the moment he does the transfer.”
Nozamu dug into the inside of his lab coat, fiddling around with it for quite some time as he spoke, obviously he had a few things hidden in there that made a few interesting sounds, but by the time he was finishing up his sentence he pulled out what looked like a disk shaped device about the size of his palm and handed it to his subordinate, who took it without hesitation.
”Uh.. Alright, Lieutenant. It’ll get done.”
A rough cough escaped from between his lips once again, almost sounding as if he had a serious virus causing his cough that might be able to cause a pandemic in the world in the living, but it was probably from all the smoking that he did, it was a wonder he hadn’t modified his lungs at this point since that might be the only way he’ll ever get to the age of people like the Captain Commander. Nevertheless the man went to perform his task as ordered.
As the door shut behind the subordinate, Nozamu released a comical sigh as he felt a wave of relief wash over him, he was indeed busy at the moment with world changing research studies and ideas, but there was indeed time to deliver that disk over to Kurotsuchi, the only reason he didn’t is that he was not in the mood to look in eighteen different directions just to figure out that the man was staring straight at him. Running one of his hands through his crimson red hair, Nozamu began to walk around to the other side of his desk, looking down at the papers and books that littered all around, it was obvious that he was planning something important, but no one realized that his very mind was working to change the Gotei 13 for the better.
Taking a seat his eyes began to skim across everything that laid down upon it, until finally he was able to get ahold of one that was simply labeled as “Vaccine”, which was written a long time ago by Kisuke Urahara during the first incident of there being Hollowfied Shinigami. It detailed how he created medicine using a Quincy’s Heilig Pfeil and human souls that was meant to be injected into the soul of the Hollowfied Shinigami, which causes the conflict of the souls to stabilize and overall stop the soul-suicide effect as it was caused. This is what Kurotsuchi and Nozamu had used together to aid the newly formed Vizards of the Gotei 13 and ultimately save each and every single one of them, if it wasn’t for this single piece of data then there was going to be nothing for them to do except execute them all on the spot, which was certainly a horrible thing, especially since one of them were incredibly useful for further on down the line.
”Kisuke Urahara, what went through your head exactly that made you come up with all this? How is it that no matter what someone did, you were always on top? Even the Quincy recognized you a threat over the Captain Commander of your time and yet here I am sitting, staring at one of your papers, wondering how I am going to accomplish my own goal.”
A heavy sigh now escaped him, a wave of depression once again rolled over him as he began to slowly doubt his abilities, causing him to look down at his hands that had created so much in this life, he looked each detail of them over from each line in his finger to the caliscous on his palms. All of a sudden he felt another pair of hands touch his own out of nowhere, soft, frail hands that lightly caressed him with what felt like love and out of the corners of his eyes he believed he saw a few strands of pink hair glisten in the artificial light in his room. Looking up he expected to see a female that he once knew and cared for deeply, but was instead met with the disappointment of nothingness and what was once a wave of depression became a wave of anger as his mind played tricks on him once again.
”Wait a second..
Thanks to the wave of anger that rushed over him, Nozamu felt a surge of adrenaline in his body that he was going to use for the best, which at this moment meant reaching his hands to grab ahold of the paper that Kiskuke himself wrote and began looking over it with a rather puzzled look. Suddenly he began to dig into the drawers in his desk, eventually pulling out his Denrishiki X, he went through the unlocking process which took a little longer than most since his password was twenty eight characters long, but after opening it up he went to the Caller ID section and immediately went to Kurotsuchi. He was unsure whether or not he was going to pick up at all as the man had his own ways, but it didn’t matter cause Nozamu himself bolted out of his office and began speed walking with not just the vaccine paper in his hand, but also another one that was labeled “Quincy Battle Tactics”.
Either way if Kurotsuchi answered or just let it go to voicemail, he was eventually going to get the message that Nozamu wanted to tell him.
”I know I am finding this out a little late, but I think I figured out how I am able to completely separate the Hollow from Shinigami, permanently curing them, but I need to speak with you immediately on this.”
