Shin'eki couldn't help but reveal a full smile, as he looked toward Ijoushi. He was glad to have someone so understanding as a friend.
"Well then, let's arrive in a swift fashion!!"
Unable to hold back his child-like laughter, the boy would then shoot forward, performing a set of quickly timed shunpo's closing the distance as he made the simple act of walking with Ijoushi into an one-sided race.
"Heheh! You're gonna lose nii-chan! Last one there is a rotten rice dumpling!"
That was the saying right? Oh well. As the two seemingly reached the main barracks of the 12th Division in unison, Shin'eki would be met with the visage of some unseated shinigami exiting the barracks.
"Yo! Do you guys know if anyone's still around?
A green-haired male, who seemingly had stitches across his left brow would scuff toward the red-haired boy, as if he were insulted by his mere presence not making a matter of difference. "Damn kids, I swear none of them respect their senior officers these days..."
Shin'eki would look back toward Ijoushi, as if to look for the "ok" to knock this punk's front teeth out. Thinking the situation would only escalate to unnecessary trouble, and furthermore delay their arrival, Shin'eki would shake his head, disregarding the violent notion.
"Gomen, I guess I'll just find it myself."
Taking a moment to bow to the group before gesturing for Ijoushi to follow suit. A blue-haired male, who bore large bottle-like spectacles would look back, before shouting out toward the two 9th members. "I saw Lt. Nozamu take off toward Central, but I believe you should be able to find Master Kurotsuchi in the R&D Office! It's down the road, about 3 blocks down and to the left."
Nodding to himself as well to Ijoushi, the red-haired boy would wave back toward the group of unseated shinigami, as he broke out into a sprint toward his destination.
"What the hell was that?"
"Generosity, you may wanna try it some time to your senior officers."
"SENIOR OFFICERS?! THOSE TWO?!"

The voices of the group would soon fade out as the two had reached the block of the R&D Center.

"Heheh! You're gonna lose nii-chan! Last one there is a rotten rice dumpling!"
"Hey, you're supposed to do those races fair!.. Hmph..!"

The 6th seat frowned as Shin'eki ran ahead, transcending Ijoushi's realm of sight. He carefully lunged forward, and attempted to accelerate into a formidable pace, but to no avail - the red-haired boy was already several meters ahead. Realizing his defeat, he sank back into a standard walking pace, huffing as his partner continued to sprint forwards, now leagues ahead of him.
"I probably could have won if you were a proper sportsman, like me.." Ijoushi muttered, mildly bitter as the two approached the barracks. His head was angled downwards slightly, and he wore a dull frown, playfully annoyed by Shin'eki's unjustness. As he asked his question, he gradually raised his head, suddenly aware of the grumpy man's presence. Upon first glance, he didn't seem too interesting, his green hair being one of his only remarkable features. His scars were tough, but common among Shinigami, and he overall had a stubborn demeanor, one Ijoushi could quickly tell would be a chore to deal with. He tidied his position as he listened to the man's aggravated comments, not wanting to stagnate their journey with any unneeded conflict.
Ijoushi turned his head fiercely after receiving Shin's subtle request. His quickness to resort to aggression was almost laughable, and Ijoushi found himself stiffly covering his mouth to keep his amusement at bay. His partner's character was quite odd in this way, and his occasional episodes of harsh coldness were something Ijoushi was especially curious about, maybe even more so than his physical immaturity.
Alas, character studies would be of little use now, and Suru decided to cast his observation elsewhere, deciding he would need to be attentive of other things if he was to get 'The Scoop', as his lieutenant had put it a couple days ago. If he wanted to rise the ranks and build a better reputation, he would need to find some material for the Seireitei's newspaper.
Ijoushi gave a quick and respectful bow after Shin'eki did, and treaded softly away, continuing to follow his brother, and moving with no trace or distinction, save for his slightly timid demeanor. Ijoushi had almost never ventured this far this intimately, and was a bit sheepish, especially after his former encounter.
As the spectacle man granted them with his information, Ijoushi gave a modest smile, nodding in unison with his brother. Giving a short wave, he kept his eyes pinned on Shin'eki, following him at a similar pace. He ran with a sort of confident vengeance, and revved up to a pace rivaling his, his eyes narrowed and aimed directly towards him, seeming to glisten with passion.
"This time you will be trumped, niisan! Prepare to replace me as the rotten rice dumpling...!!"
Ijoushi grinned, his uniform billowing backwards as he ran. He let the squabbles of the Twelfth Division men drown out as he progressed down the path, and squinted blissfully, glad to be adventuring with his brother again.

After running for several dozen meters, Ijoushi felt a twang of discontent. The trip grew stale, and he failed to find anything that would be worthy of an article, despite his meticulous searching. He was also not very fond of his solitude, and felt it would be better to report back to his division, before running off on a vague adventure like this. The 'scoop' could wait, and he supposed he could use some more company from his fellow officers.
Sighing, the boy halted, turning away from his destination. His movement was abrupt, and his Shihakusho wisped with him, flowing as he turned. The air was mild, but seemed to have a cold bite to it, and Ijoushi shuddered as he began to make his way back. His expression was bland, and he was a little annoyed to have wasted more time, but supposed his new pursuits would be worthwhile. He walked with a distinct certainty, and did not seem to waver or meander, casting his focus directly before him.
It was a rather long walk, and it was not long before the boy found himself contemplating, or making vague observations. As the stolid path of the Seireitei droned on, Ijoushi grew somewhat bored, and began to skip to pass the time.
"Hmm, my hair is getting pretty long, it's kind of a nuisance. I should get it cut soon. Maybe I'll get a center part like Kyuu-san, or a pony-tail like Jatiri, or even long bangs like the captain. Yeah, I should really build on my image, now that I'm an officer especially. I should probably make some sort of signature too, for when I make my article. I wonder if they'll take a picture of me for it. Ooh, maybe I could compose an article about hairstyles."
He thought and peered out around him as he walked, admiring the Twelfth's design -- which, much like the rest of the Seireitei's streets, was intricate, and built in a very tight, but somehow comfortable way. He took generous breaths of air, and felt his moral building as he continued on. Ijoushi found that whimsical contemplation had riled him, acting as a sort of self-imposed pep-talk. He was daunted somewhat by his new position as an officer, but knew he was prepared for it, and recognized his strengths.

It was about 2 pm, the day was beautiful, the sun was out and beaming straight towards the ground. A singular soul who was done with his training regime was finally finishing up his routine. Wiping the sweat from his forehead as his body was revealed under the sun. Massive scars over his torso which were visible to anyone who walked by. These scars were received from several battles he had partaken in. All of which pushed him to his very limits. Though inside, he found a very intriguing feeling or high he would gain from such situations. He loved the thrill of combat, hell the thrill of being in danger and under pressure as it caused him to perform even better due to having very little room for error. But this was irrelevant, finally slipping his hakama back onto his torso he looked around to see if anyone was around. Hell, maybe he had a secret admirer! But to his avail no one was around which also didn’t bother him. He shrugged lightly as he grabbed his bottle of water and simply proceeded to drink profusely from it. Once he got halfway, he poured the other half over his face. Shortly after he released a pleasured sound which resembled, he was refreshed:
“AHHHHHH NOW THAT’S REFRESHING I TELL YA!”
He cracked his neck and started to stretch his muscles which were tense already from all the training he performed. Once he did that he looked towards the sky with a blank look as he started to think of things to do during this time. Part of him really wanted to go back to the barracks and find the secret stash of Sake he had saved. But then again, he was slightly paranoid someone would snitch on him for performing such an act during these hours. Then again, risk was something he enjoyed, so instead of being professional you can already guess what this man did! He went to the Barracks to grab his secret stash of sake of course! This ‘man’ possessed red hair; his eyes had this intensity to them that most people would understand if they made eye contact with him. His left eye carried a very visible scar which was very notable to his character. His name was Rin Hayashi! One of the new guys who recently joined the 11th division. His Zanpakuto was at his side as it carried a teal hilt with a black and red scabbard. Once arriving at the Barracks, he looked around to make sure no one noticed him. He consistently checked every corner and made moves only when the coast was clear. As if he was on an actual espionage mission. Once he reached his actual room, he reached into his personal chest which was located under his bed and pulled a bottle that was unmarked but was shaped oddly. This was his secretly stashed bottle of Sake. His face glimmered with excitement as he followed up to put the bottle away in his Hakama. He then proceeded to walk out of his room as if nothing happened. Doing this, he surely walked by other members of the division to which no one had stopped him to ask him any questions luckily.
Inside of Rin’s mind this was a blessing, he was excited no one had stopped him yet as it only meant he would be able to relax and drink his Sake in peace after all the hard work he performed training. But deep down inside, Rin wanted a mission, he wanted to be challenged as he personally felt he hadn’t earned the respect he wanted yet in his division. The question was... how he would gain such respect or gain such a task to obtain said respect? The answer would eventually come on its own unfortunately as for now he didn’t pay it much mind. In fact, Rin would continue to walk through the corridors of the northwest section of the Seireitei. He would be visible to anyone walking through here as he would more than likely be recognized as that new guy who recently joined the 11th division. Maybe, just maybe today could be interesting.

As Rin walked through the lonely corridors of the Gotei 13, he thought to himself many things. The biggest was the fact he hadn’t seen his superior in such a long time. He didn’t really know him, but he had heard of him. Not to mention, many people of the barracks had spoken about the situation that had befallen him. This only caused curiosity to course through Rin’s veins as he wanted to find out more for himself. Maybe he could be of some type of help. Though he was messing around about to drink some sake and lay back, he thought twice about it. He needed to be there for his division. This simply caused him to rethink his actions as he returned to the barracks without a single ounce of hesitation. He moved swiftly without wasting a second as he entered his room regardless of anyone who noticed him and walked towards his secret stash location as he placed the bottle, he pulled out back in its rightful location. Once he did this, he took a deep breath as his decision was made. He was going to use his free time to see his Lt. He wanted to be useful to his division and there was no other better way than seeking him out and being given a task. It was time for Rin to make a name for himself, he was going to be as helpful as possible regardless of what task he was given.
As he left his room and went outside, he heard people chattering around the division speaking on the matter. Rin approached casually as he asked a group of his division members a simple question:
”Where could I find Lieutenant Ueku?”
The members of the division gave Rin a look as they casually checked his demeanor since he was considered the new guy. Before giving him the answer, he was looking for:
”Hes being taken care of at the 4th divisions barracks. I believe intensive care.”
Rin merely nodded his head as he simply headed out right after. He didn’t even thank them as his nod was to signify his thanks. But realistically the reason why he didn’t was because of how they looked at him. Rin didn’t care about people's opinion on him currently. He was the new guy on the block that still needed to make himself known so it was obvious people would give him such a look. But regardless, it was time to head out. Rin sighed as he prepared himself to head towards the northeast section of the Gotei 13. Particularly the 4th division barracks where his Lieutenant would be located. Though this process would take him time as he didn’t really know his way around the Gotei 13 fully yet. Slowly but surely, he would make it though, there was no doubt about that.
Traveling from the northwest section of the Gotei 13 towards the northeast section particularly the 4th division area.
