Maho had managed to wander his way to the Southwest Seireitei. He had been wondering about the soul society all day in search of...anything really. As a head guard, he had little to do in the meantime besides check in other captains and the daily activities of his squad members. Today, however, none of those responsibilities were at the forefront of his mind.
He had managed to find his way to where Captain Higen and Arashi were concluding a small briefing. Shinigami of varying ranks scurried about their work, diligent in each and every task as to not let down their captain. Whether this was out of fear or admiration could be argued on either end. Some within the soul society were rather ruthless, other much less so.
Waltzing up behind the Large captain, his voice carried into his ear. "Seems yall is real busy here today huh old man?" Maho would stop just a foot or so behind his fellow captain, long trails of smoke faded off into the air leaving behind a thick herbal scent that to many were both mysterious and pleasant. He'd lift his right arm and grasp the burning cigar within his middle and index fingers, pulling it from his lips. Another exhale followed this action, which released another large cloud.
"What's been goin' on in the world of the living? Anybody storming the gates any time soon? Am I ever gon' be able to do my job?" He said with a hint of jest. The longer he didn't have to do his job, the better off the soul society would be, so he thought.
He would keep what he had come to ask to himself, for now, Figuring any information on current events within the soul society would be a much better opener than asking for something to aid in training.

The last image to grace his vision was the fading figure of Arashi melding into the light of the Senkaimon. His posture—as it had always been—remained statuesque, his eyes dotting to their adjacent corners as his hand folded out from an extended forearm, a member of the LTF placing his own messenger device into his grasp. It emitted the same luminance and consistent beeping of the one he had just recently handed off. As he stared at it, he drifted into a brief distraction, one that allowed him to completely omit the Captain that had approached without the slightest inkling of stealth behind him. The huff of smoke forming as a cloud was not something he was an explicit fan of, though its smell and affects were familiar, including it’s association with the Ninth Division’s Captain. As Maho’s words met his ear, his somewhat serious expression vanished in the spur of the moment, his comrade’s smooth and squally voice immediately catching his attention.
Ah.. Young Maho..
A name given centuries ago, used even now despite Maho’s much more mature and experienced stature. Higen’s beard could be seen drifting over his shoulder, the entire side of his face hidden by a small shadow. He turned about completely, facing the much smaller man now, looking down with a smile that stretched from lobe-to-lobe.
Ha! I wouldn’t wish on it! For you to be called on to do your job.. more than likely that would mean I have failed at mine! Even so..
He paused for a moment, his attention shifting back to the messaging machine in a bit of a trance, his finger gliding over the button that initiates speech though without initiating any form of pressure. Had he prepared Arashi enough? Higen wouldn’t forgive himself if such talent was disposed of at his behest, especially since it was his own lieutenant who was to partake in this task originally. Where was she?- It was decided, he’d send her still. Just as he was about to press down onto the button to speak, the beeping increased profusely, Arashi’s message rearing in with the utmost urgency.
Arashi Suta, 3rd seat of Squad 13. Requesting a release of Gentei Rein.
It came through loud enough for even Maho to hear, and as Higen had feared, things seemed to be much worse than initially perceived. By now the head should have gotten to 12th Division but how long until some concrete results were produced? Too long.
Arashi- You are heard! You must do what you can.. I will pass on your request but I must admit, it will most likely fall on deaf ears! I will do my absolute best to get you some reinforcements at the very least!
He’d let go of the button that he had just pressed downward, his finger flipping the device closed with impeding force. He lifted his free arm upward, extending his index finger and waiting a second or two. A Jigokucho landed on the base of his nail, before fluttering off into the distance as it became embedded with both his Reiryoku, and Arashi’s request for the Head Captain. Another followed behind it, in search of Lieutenant Kasumi. Had she’d appeared, he’d send her through the Senkaimon to Arashi’s aid, hoping she’d get there in time.
Yes, Young Maho… Busy indeed.

Listen While You Read
It was a beautiful day today Yosuke thought to himself. The 4th Seated Member of the Sixth Division was seen walking around the barracks. Tucked underneath his arm he carried an ornate black box with golden cherry blossoms engraved into the wood. Golden latches secured the box shut as he walked through the corridors. Yosuke walked past most members of the Sixth Division without stopping to talk to them. Upon reaching the entrance of the barracks, Yosuke suddenly jumped skyward. Gracefully he flipped and twisted through the air with ease like a professional gymnast, before landing securely on his feet atop the Roof, (野屋根 noyane).
It was here that he sat down cross-legged and let out a content sigh. "Ahhhh, what a beautiful day it is today. I wonder what everyone in the other divisions are up to and everyone else. Ahhhh my own fault for being so carefree."
Yosuke let out a soft chuckle before unclasping the box. The ornate lid being lifted off of it and set to the side. Inside sat a finely constructed Biwa. It was Yosukes favorite activity to play his Biwa while relaxing under the sky. He sat there and began to play one of his favorite songs. Ochihabune. As he sat playing the music flew through his very soul. Yosuke's eyes closed years of playing the Biwa had lead to his memorization of every spot his fingers needed to be placed, every note, every break, every rhythmic change all had been committed to his memory as he played through the song with perfect timing and articulacy.
Most of the work that typically needed to be done around the Barracks had been done. Each room had been inspected with a fine toothcomb by Yosuke, free of dust, and everything orderly. Yosuke wasn't too hard on people tho he allowed them to have personal effects and things to do in their off time. Whether they had musical instruments, painting supplies, gameboards, etc. Yosuke didn't mind he felt that people should find ways to express themselves and branch out into a different life than the usual constant serious life of being a shinigami. It was days like today where one could truly enjoy having some time to themselves and enjoy doing whatever it is they enjoyed doing.
That's why after their mid-day meal, or lunch, Yosuke told everyone that he was in charge of at that time that they were free to do as they please the rest of the day. Normally people respected his word as a 4th seated officer but he couldn't very well send everyone home as there were still those who outranked him. However, none of those people were present today and as such all orders fell upon his shoulders. He wanted to let the men and women of the Sixth Division have a day of rest and relaxation. Being the Division in charge of judiciary entitles and upholding/enforcing the law. Much was expected of the Sixth Division in manners concerning Seireitei and Soul Society Law.
However, Today seemed to be a rather peaceful one. Yosuke was determined to enjoy it as best he could. He casually waved as some of the Sixth Division members spotted him atop the roof of the Barracks. They had all grown accustomed to seeing him there playing his Biwa when he was off. He didn't know what these young and new Division members were up to or who they were on a personal level but he hoped they would go on and enjoy their day same as him.
As he played his mind drifted to other thoughts. He knew his father was testing for the rank of captain today. Details were not shared with Yosuke when he asked his father about them. He decided it was for the best anyway. The less he knew the less he would have to think about. He quickly realized he started to get a little gloomy or worried for his father? No most certainly not. Yosuke had seen his father in action many times and knew what the man was capable of in dire situations. He had seen his father overcome impossible obstacles several times in the past and he was sure this would be no different. He smiled to himself as he played the final note in his song. Setting his biwa down he pulled out his lunch from a cloth knapsack he had attached to his waist.

Inside the knapsack was a delicious lunch of Onigiriand Green herbal Tea. Yosuke looked at his food with delight as his mouth began to water. "Man oh man I truly do love relaxing days like this!" He quickly began to eat his lunch chowing down on the delicious food. After a few massive bites, he had already eaten three Onigiri and took two large refreshing gulps of his tea. Letting out a large and content sigh as he leaned back against the slanted tiled roof. Resting his head back as he stared up at the clouds. He continued to munch at his lunch, his pace a little slower now to enjoy his food and not get sick from eating it too fast. Yosuke watched as the clouds soared overhead. Peaceful and gracefully whisping away with the wind to untold destinations.

He watched and waved as more and more division members left the barracks. He smiled at them watching each pair off and go down the man different corridors that dotted the Seireitei. His smiled briefly faded at a moment. Yosuke realized they were all friends. Everyone in his squad he considered his friend in truth, but Yosuke was always alone. He never really spent his time with anyone aside from those two. From his days back at the academy, Yosuke never really had anyone he could spend time with daily, and spend his free time with. It was a bitter cold he felt in his spine. He regretted not trying to offer to spend time with some of the other Shinigami in his squad. Yosuke knew however such actions were frowned upon in the Kuchiki clan. Befriending and becoming acquaintances with beings lesser than themselves was something the Kuchiki did not look appealing at. If your status was not equal, nearly equal, or if you did not further the Kuchiki clans name very few would look at you much less speak to you.
Yosuke was different. He was incredibly friendly and was able to weasel his way into becoming personal with his fellow division members by saying that making them feel like he cared about them personally would make them fight more diligently for him. Though this was true, Yosuke didn't like lying to the Kuchiki family. Yosuke truly wanted more than anything was for his division members to accept him as their friend despite his status. He knew many were friendly out of fear. Fear of his clan and the status of power and dignity that it represented. It was this fear that ultimately made Yosuke feel alienated from most of the Shinigami he worked with and most of the Shinigami within all of the Seireitei for that matter.
Yosuke quickly realized he was beeing to depressing again and shook his head. "Alright enough of that! Time to relax not get depressed" With that his tone changed and he was back to his usual friendly self. His openness and warmth was simply a facade, a coverup masking the loneliness he felt within the depths of his soul. He picked his Biwa pack up and began to play another song. Samidare, the first song he ever learned to play on his Biwa. It was a beautiful piece of music. He loved listening to it just as much as he loved to play it. Each note resonated with his very being and his current state of mind as he played. The notes filling the air as he Yosuke watched the clouds still drifting on, disappearing over the Horizon....

The day was getting to it's hottest point, The sun was glistening off any precipitation that happened to be brave enough to muster it's self onto the side of anything cooler than the heat. Including Jinnosuke's forehead, He had come all the way over here to see if he had set his Cell Phone down around the pond in the Kuchiki Family estate. To get there he would have to travel by the 6th Division Barracks. Meaning people might feel warranted to interact with him. This made Jinnosuke sigh as he tried to rush along, his ear rings bouncing after each step. * Ting, Ting, Ting, Ting* the jingle of the small bells would surely alert anyone he wasn't fond of.

Pitter pattering down the path unaware of anyone else' presence, Jinno would stop as he hears a strange sound bouncing around in his head.
" Grrrrr..... Who would ruin such a nice day with such an annoying tune....." Jinno struggled to state as he found the source immediately after! " You! " Jinnosuke pointed his arm out, finger extending and resting towards a Male that could easily be recognized as a Kuchiki. Jinnosuke would leap the fence into the area surrounding the Shinigami. Jinno would toss his hands behind his head and shout up at him on the roof. " Hey Kuchiki you seen my Phone! I'm supposed to be waiting for a call to see if i'm a cut above the rest. Other than that i was hoping to get a mission, it's been a drag all day. After we find my phone we should spar to celebrate such a nice day!. AH HA HA HA HA " Jinnosuke Laughed as he leaped up onto the roof with the other Shinigami.
Looking down and seeing the fine tea set up, Jinnosuke would sit himself down and pull a small ceramic glass out of his inside pocket of his Haiori. Reaching down after and pouring himself a cup of tea. " My name is Ueku, Jinnosuke. I can't recall if i have ever met you. Even if i have fought with you Kuchiki's a few times before AH HA HA HA." He took his free hand and scratched at the loose hair already growing in from the stress of his morning training. The stubble would be coarse and make a prickly sound as he scratched against it. " You know, there sure seem to be more of you prissy shites runnin' around here now that i think about it. " Jinno would take a sip of his tea just after finishing the touches of sugar, honey, and lavender. Draining the cup in one swing he would set the cup back inside his haiori, only to bring a cigarette to his lips. Lighting it with a match he would take a deep puff and then exhale the smoke over the roof and watch it flow away down the path he came.
" You sure you aren't part rabbit? " He exclaimed before returning to the task of smoking and looking at the clouds teetering along the horizon.

Yosuke was having a fairly good day so far. No interruptions, it was a beautiful day he was having a fantastic lunch and was playing his Biwa. It was a relaxing day one he was enjoying deeply. Though it was seemingly not to last., A few moments after beginning to play his next piece, Yosuke was interrupted by a curdling yell? Someone nearby had simply screamed one word and well through natural curiosity he looked around his head twitching left and right. "Now who would be yelling on such a beautifl da..." He was cut off as the man began yelling again, Yosuke peered at him as he saw him leap atop a nearby fence. He asked something about his phone or something like that. Before Yosuke could even respond the man had jumped from the fence and landed next to him.
Yosuke was a bit shocked by this as most people avoided him or tried to hurry along with any conversations they did have with him due to his status. The brash man introduced himself as Ueku Jinnosuke, as if prepared for such an event the man pulled out a ceramic glass and poured himself a cup of tea before momentarily lighting a cigarette. This man was incredibly informal with Yosuke despite the man's clear knowledge of his lineage. Though for what it's worth Yosuke didn't mind as this man was the first man since Jin and Akane to really flat out talk to him like another person. Not like most who only refer to him as a Kuchiki clan member or a seated officer in the sixth division.
"Well good afternoon to you Jinnosuke, though I do believe you are being a tad uncourteous given my status within the Kuchiki family. Me personally, I don't mind it's more so my father you need to be worried about. To be honest, you're the first person in several decades to talk to me like this...it's weird...most avoid me because of my lineage and you don't seem to care about that though. Interesting, you may call me Yosuke if you so choose if not the Kuchiki works fine for me. Secondly, I am fairly positive that Kuchiki are not a part rabbit. Thirdly, as for your phone does it by chance happen to be this?"
tumblr_mkjbt7nU3C1r57f87o1_400.gif

Yosuke pulled a flat phone from underneath his Shihakushō (死覇装, Garment of Dead Souls). He spun it aronud on his fingers making an expressional face towards the man. as he bounced it around on his fingers acting as if to let it slip a few times to toy with the man, but truly never let it fell as he continued to bounce and flip his fragile phone around."It was found in the Kuchiki Family Manor, next to our lovely pond where we keep our special pedigree koi. Hmmm if it is indeed yours, then that means we have a little skulking thief around here don't we? or perhaps you just wanted to get a look at the kuchiki estate, who knows who cares. I must ask that you do not try such a stunt in the future Jinnosuke. My father has been very busy as of late and as such hasn't been around the estate as much. When he returns it would be unwise to try anything like this in the future." Yosuke smiled softly at the man and handed him his phone back.
After his whole speel had been said, Yosuke picked his Biwa back up and continued to play Samidare and waited for the man to speak his mind about the words Yosuke had said throughout the conversation.
