Hibiki Maeda, a Shinigami used to the luxury of the Eleventh Division. In a time of peace, there is little use for a Division of warriors, let alone those of lower rank. As Fourth Seat, Hibiki enjoyed the privilege of peace, lounging about, training when he desired, with no true responsibility. Without a Captain, and with the timid nature of their former Lieutenant, there was no one around to really whip the division into shape. Due to this, Hibiki was permitted to enjoy life at its most boring, his only real concern being how he will entertain himself. Only, now there is no former Lieutenant Nibui. Instead, Jinnosuke has taken the title, promoting Hibiki to Third Seat. This in itself still meant nothing, as Eleventh Division is rarely put to use by the Commander. Except that, today, everything unexpected seems to arrive at once.
Lieutenant Jinnosuke had, in an act to strengthen himself, instead crippled himself, and his division by extension. Unable to perform his duties, the responsibilities that would befall a Lieutenant instead fall upon the Third Seat. In this case, that would be the unexpecting Hibiki Maeda. This is exactly the chain of logic flowing through the mind of Shobatsu’s personal messenger, as he manifests directly behind Hibiki.
There is no sign of his arrival, no reiatsu to sense, to physically tell, no sound. Instead, the Messenger simply appears. He looks, through the shrouded veil of his white hood, with glowing yellow eyes towards the Third Seat. A voice, deprived of emotion, deprived of agenda or influx, speaks only with authority in its tone.
“Third Seat Hibiki Maeda, on account of your Lieutenant's inability to perform his task, the duties of Eleventh Division fall upon you as superior officer. As such, I deliver this message to you in Lieutenant Uekū’s place.”
He hand’s off an enclosed envelope, purple wax sealing it shut, emblazoning the parchment with the Chrysanthemum, the symbol of First Division. The moment Hibiki takes hold of this parchment, the messenger before him fades away, achieving his task, like a ghost who has finally reached transcendence.

Encased within, is a letter containing what are clearly the words of the Commander himself. After all, the First Division only dispatches their private messengers to carry Shobatsu’s direct word. The message reads:
Quote:“You are to report to Fifth Division for immediate dispatch to Hueco Mundo. Once there you are to observe any suspicious Hollow activity. Do not return until you have obtained information on a creature referred to as the God King. You are not to engage with such an individual, and are to take your own life should you be discovered. Upon your return, report to Captain Commander Shobatsu Murasaki.”
With the message read, one thing is clear: the days of peaceful lounging and mindless training are over. With potential war on the horizon, it is an unfortunate time to be an Eleventh Division Shinigami.

Just as his image poured into view Hibiki’s own innate ability led to him spinning around to meet the figure albeit the response was still fairly slow as his feet touched the ground far before Hibiki had even spun to greet him. His eyes were partially wide as this was a natural bodily response rather than Hibik merely being made aware of his arrival via sensing his presence. It was one of his few uncanny abilities as a shinigami of the eleventh with no real poise for sensing individuals through typical means. Had the messenger that arrived taken the time to look at Hibiki they could find he had just gotten done wrapping his hands in his staple bandages. His physique appeared as if it were chiseled straight from stone. It was clear Hibiki was still mildly uncomfortable with his body’s means of reacting naturally rather than with trained senses, it was if the hairs on his neck stood on end in those moments. He still put on a smile of sorts as if he were greeting the figure that emerged with some modicum of kindness.
In turn when this hooded figure spoke his ears perked up like a dog. He was tentative in every aspect of the word as he was aware that Nibui and Jinno had taken time for a squabble even though they were comrades there was an unspoken hierarchy within the eleven. It was clear when this hooded figure spoke, he was speaking as if some form of a victor had emerged. It was curious indeed but that was in the back of his mind in these moments as he was soon handed an envelope. Its form stamped shut with purple wax with the crest of first division and with that his eyes grew much wider than they were before. This look wasn’t that of fear or nerves, this was shock. It wasn’t often anyone from the 11th was ever contacted by the 1st unless it was to call the sheep to slaughter. He didn’t even have time to give a nod let alone properly thank this ghostly figure for his delivery. Had any of his fellow division members taken a look at his face as he stood with his back to the striking dummy they would see his eyes were pinpoint when he broke the seal.
crack.
His eyes scanned across the contents of the letter without issue being sure to dust off what contents of the wax remained from the inside.
Quote:“You are to report to the Fifth Division for immediate dispatch to Hueco Mundo. Once there you are to observe any suspicious Hollow activity. Do not return until you have obtained information on a creature referred to as the God King. You are not to engage with such an individual, and are to take your own life should you be discovered. Upon your return, report to Captain Commander Shobatsu Murasaki.”
He no sooner ran his fingers through his verdant hair causing his bangs to fall into place without issue. This was far from a tongue in cheek moment for him as Hibiki was more than happy to get out of the barracks. The monotony of being stuck in the barracks was getting to him it could easily be likened to cabin fever. He didn’t even pack a bag as he turned to his fellow division members and spoke with a stern tone.
”Keep an eye on things, Nibui is gone and Jinno’s in the infirmary resting.
They of course responded with a collective “Yes sir!” and went about their business. In a moment's notice Hibiki’s image was gone, a tuft of dust and the occasional sound of footsteps. This was merely an aspect of shunpo as he set out for fifth division he couldn’t help but consider the possibilities of what was to come.

For a moment as Nozamu continued on with his initial theory on how they might be able to seperate the Hollow and the Shinigami that currently afflicted the new generation of Vizards in the Gotei, he prayed internally to the Soul King that for once Kurotsuchi was going to at least try and work with him to some extent on this. Yet when he finally finished speaking all he had to hear was that single phrase which revealed to him the reality that Kurotsuchi is Kurotsuchi, as well as he means and as brilliant as he is, his personality is just as unsightly as his face.
”Oh, done already?”
The crimson globes in his skull watched carefully as the computer began to open up showing the mass amounts of glowing spheres that were slowly bleeding into the lab raging rapids, then began to assimilate into a singular sphere that hovered over the ground and slowly spun around. It was indeed a technological masterpiece as this was the manifestation of knowledge unrivalled. Crossing his arms Nozamu knew he was going to be listening to something interesting as he waved his hand and two manifestations appeared, one human and one hollow.
”As we know from the annals of history, former Captain of the Twelfth Division and President of the Research and Development Institute developed the Hōgyoku is known to be able to be able to help break the boundary between Hollow and Shinigami allowing the fusion. It is this method which he used to save the lives of his former colleagues. Sosuke Aizen had used a rather crude method that involved sacrificing the souls of countless shinigami souls. The Aku Hachi Hakkō… this... festering Pot, is not unlike that strange creature conjured up by Sosuke. Its corruption ensures the reiatsu inside acts much like a poison, infecting the soul of those affected... inflicting them with Hollowfication.”
As Kurotsuchi continued on with this lecture, Nozamu continuously kept silent, listening to each bit of information coming from the man in case he had skimmed over any of it during his extensive research, yet it seemed no matter how much the man went on there was nothing new that he was able to teach him. When Kurotsuchi turned back to Nozamu and cocked his head from side to side, Nozamu simply stood tall, proud and firm seemingly undisturbed by the man’s strange movements and unending teachings.
”The reason Quincy could never become part-Hollow, is because Hollows are inherently the antithesis to Quincy. It is genetically and spiritually impossible for the two to coexist. The reason the Vaccine worked was because the Souls had not completely devolved into a Hollow, and Soul Suicide had not occurred. This Vaccine, created by yours truly by the way… shifted the internal battle. The Shinigami’s soul resisted the hollow as the Hollow sought to devour and overtake the Shinigami’s soul. Much like how white blood cells help in fighting infection and disease, the Quincy Vaccine was injected into our three specimens to combat its natural enemy.. The hollow, weakening it enough to allow the Shinigami souls to supress its will, smothering it until the Hollowfication process was ultimately forced to halt. Preventing them from completely turning into Hollows.”
Behind him the two images began a merging yet as a reenactment of his words a third glowing image appearing in the form of an arrow piercing the human shape and passing through to the Hollow’s causing its form to diminish in color and size. As distracting as it was, the display was meaningless to Nozamu; he understood the words being spoken better than the images above, proven by how he learned all of these words have been spoken to him before.
”The stabilization used by Kisuke Urahara was made to save a Quincy, a being who under normal circumstances would ultimately die once being infected by a Hollow. As I said, it is genetically impossible for them to coexist with one unlike Shinigami. Kisuke’s process was a band aid, a temporary fix. It was made to exponentially slow the process, it didn’t halt it completely. If you attempted to reenact the method, placing the Shinigami into those Gigai will indeed turn them into a cross between human and a Shinigami, but have you forgotten.. Kurosaki Ichigo was also at one point a cross between Human and Shinigami. Though he is an exceptional case we can at least deduce somewhat that.. The human body will NOT combat the Hollow or Hollowfication. If hollows can infect humans who are their natural prey, and give birth to what we know as Fullbringers...and if they can infect Shinigami causing them to become Vizards...then making a Shinigami a cross between two species who have historically been affected by Hollows will hardly be of any assistance in mitigating or diminishing the specimen’s ailments. Furthermore eliminating the powers of the Shinigami in such a state, is the same as weakening them, placing them into further risk of having their souls deteriorated! Hollows are able to extract souls indeed, and while the ability may be studied and potentially replicated there comes several risk. The hollow within them will not simply stand by and allow itself to be removed. As time goes on its soul will mix and blend with the soul of its host and subsequently..their zanpakuto. We run the risk of causing harm to the original soul or even the spirit born of the soul of its Master. Damage and harm which could potentially be irreparable.”
That final bit of information that Kurotsuchi had was all that Nozamu truly needed to hear in this entire situation as he understood the rest and for a moment he thought he was going to learn a lot more, yet when he saw Kurotsuchi pause and his eyes widen, he understood that he was not just going to go off on a tangent that involved impossible theories, he was also going to be done with the conversation for the moment.
Instead of taking his attention away though, Nozamu had other plans in mind.
”Kurotsuchi you are an interesting individual to say the least, but I can tell that you lack discipline.”
Step. Step. Step.

Nozamu’s footsteps as he walked toward the man were going to be quite loud as the rest of the lab appeared to remain quite, most of everyone with them just gazing upon the two as if something truly terrifying was about to happen, their theories weren’t helped any with him slowly shedding off the veils that covered his body and concealed his reiatsu.
”All of you, leave us now.”
With a single command every single person in the room except for the two of them were going to leave the lab immediately, some of them even running away from the scene, at the same time as they ran Nozamu’s reiatsu signature was going to rise higher, already being more than enough to make the scientist before him begin undergoing the effects of his reiatsu. Then just as the room was finally empty and everyone was as far away as they possibly could be, he places the veils back down upon his vessel, allowing his reiatsu to be contained once more.
”I humbly apologize for such a display Kurotsuchi, though what I we are about to discuss may only be between yourself and I.”
Walking around his subordinate he was going to stand directly in front of the spinning sphere that hung high in the air, then with a wave of his hands he was going to call down a keyboard that projected itself in front of him and began to type in an over one hundred character long password. After doing so the blue sphere was going to transform into nothing more than an amalgamation of ones and zeros that now released a crimson hue similar to the one his projection gave off, yet after typing in a few more keys it began to revert back to normal.
”You are my most brilliant subordinate, the reason you are not captain of this division is simply because you lack the strength to become so similar to myself apparently, sometimes when I hear your lectures I am absolutely dumbfounded by the things that come out of your mouth as there are some that even I am unable to comprehend. Even though I have high respect for you, I understand that you do not have that much respect for me or at least I do not believe so, simply due to the fact that you can comprehend what I say, but if I were to give you something so incomprehensible to observe that I have discovered, that might earn your respect.”
It took around three full minutes in order for Nozamu to completely get to where he wanted in the computer, when he finally accessed the file itself though it was clearly labeled _Jinsei no Shigoto (人生の仕事, Life’s Work)_ and upon opening the file it completely transformed the blue spheres and everything else in a purple hued cube that was rotating in all direction, the most curious thing about it though was the bright sphere that was in the center of it.
“My entire life I studied the way our bodies worked our world worked, what I uncovered from all that research was more than what this Division may be able to learn until generations from now when You or I or even the Captain Commander himself are dead and gone. I am showing this to you as a symbol of trust, appreciation and hope that this is the one thing that make you respect me as a scientist and maybe also let you know the one tool that we have that might be able to fix all of our problems if used correctly.
With a sigh that showed the amount of nervousness that was in his soul, Nozamu took a step back and allowed Kurotsuchi to unravel in what he was going to see before him, as it was the secrets of the universe itself.

The picture was taken and it was a wonderful moment for all three; a smile on all three of them as the unseated member took the photo. He too had a smile it seemed to be contagious. Once it was all said and done he handed the phone back to Oyama, to which she would immediately sent it towards the two. After which she immediately dismissed the unseated member, as Arashi was gathering his belongings.
"Oya, Who's on duty now?!"
She was thankful to be on her phone for this, as she began look through the reports of active Shinigami in Karakura town. Currently three were on track for this, two males and one female, the two males were sent out a few days prior, while the female? Interesting…
“Katsuo… Oyama…”
Her attention was turned to Arashi, the tone of the room began to change once more, as he looked at the both of them, something wasn’t exactly right either. Something was poking at her, as he began to speak.
“When you take on the Hollow. Do not hesitate... Do not think twice... Do not make the same mistake I did when I fought against Sword Eater. These Hollows are unpredictable, that is what makes them extremely dangerous. Expect and prepare for the worst-case scenario. The moment you get the chance, end it. No remorse, no mercy…”
Wise words; Then a reiatsu flare up, One that was both his and his hollow counterpart, causing her to not breath for a moment, she felt like she had been hit, yet no physical action had been taken. Her breath was taken away from this moment, her body had been forcefully lowered by this before it stopped.
He had his eye covered and it seemed to have ended the flare up, but what happened made her weary of him. Such a power uncontrolled, was too dangerous, for him to stay around 13th, he needed to transfer to have someone help control him. Though now that the transfer happened, she became in charge of 13th division, both herself and Katsuo moved up a seat, and this made her realize that she was woefully unprepared in the battle department.
“Katsuo, I won’t be joining in Karakura. I’m not fully ready for a battle with hollows, let alone quincy. I’ll be headed over to 11th division for training, in my zanpakuto… Now that I’m 3rd seat I gotta work myself a bit more. Than I have… in these past few months”
cb5d731ba7f7264a124daa037d992f97.png

A sigh came out, as she looked up at Katsuo, her body looked calm after all that was said and done, but she was anything but calm. It showed with her foot lightly tapping against the floor, she recalled him talking about quincies, and how they should remind em that they were the ones in charge. She lifted her phone up and out to look at the profile once again of the other female Shinigami, barely any reports by her, and not a lot of information except on where her favorite location is. She then shifted her gaze to katsuo.
“Katsuo, Take two unseated members in my place, but do not have them interact with the hollow or quincies, Have them observe the situation at hand, and if bad goes to worse, recover any dead bodies that are Shinigami. You on the other hand I want you to find this other Shinigami, that has been patrolling Karakura for a while. From what I am reading here she likes to hang around the food district in Karakura. This ones an order Kat, I don’t want you engaging in this hollow right away, not without someone to help you out. Its not that I don’t trust you, its more so I wanna ensure you’re safety.”
She wasn’t exactly ready to go into the world of the living, and she knew it. Now with this promotion, she had little time to waist and train herself. hopefully 11th has some members to help train her well. She didn’t want to start rushing into things anymore, not like 2 months go, no not like 5 months ago, She needed to be smarter, she had some big shoes to fill.
Her eyes shifted away as she began to walk out, out of the main office of 13th and walk towards 11th with her zanpakuto, resting at her side.

He heard Oyama, but didn't like the idea of taking other Shinigami as well, but not let them interfere or interact with the Hollow or Quincies. They'd be a standing Target if things would go her way. He shook his head.
"Oyama, if I brought more inexperienced Shinigami with me i'd only be feeding this Adjucha even further.. any surviving members there i'll protect and fight with them, if it comes down to it I can Contact Captain Higen's people in Naruki as well for Assistance, or send word for back up. The Quincies first enemy, is also our own enemy. If anything the Quincy would attack and kill this hollow first before pointing their arrows at me. I'll use what I can, and do what I can. I can do this. I'm not going to engage headfirst, i'll do as you ordered, but i am not sending other people to their potential deaths with me."
He'd say to Oya, neglecting to take others to their deaths as well. As she left and wondered toward Division Eleven for training, Katsuo said in his mind how much he too didn't want to go. However it was his Duty. Someone had to do something. Oya was saying something about Training, and that was what he was going to do before this call to arms and this Adjucha attacked Karakura. Now, he found himself headed to Division Five this time instead of home to leave through the Senkaimon and make his way to Karakura. No time to waste. He decided instead of running all the way, taking a few flash steps here or there would improve his stamina.
