Personality: Shusuke is a very eccentric, jovial, Laid back shinigami but for the most part of things, he's deceptively intelligent. More oftentimes preferring to hide his true brain capacity to better shroud his skills and abilities to potential threats. He also does this to mystify himself for battle so that others aren’t keen to his tactics. In times of peace he is more relaxed and can be approached fairly easily in conversation. A natural people person, he enjoys conversation with others and loves sharing what he knows with people. Easy to sniff out a lie or distrust, he tends to not allow others to get too close unless he deems them true friends. Anyone who he considers close, he will go the extra distance without a shadow of a doubt, loyalty and honor was what bound Shusuke to this life now.
He prefers not to right off the bat engage someone in battle but rather to talk them out of the fighting spirit by explaining how their own power cannot overcome his own. While initially coming off as arrogant, Shusuke' ability to suss out others is near second to none, never usually finding himself where he isn't always a step ahead. However if the situation requires it he will engage himself in the heat of battle and will be fully incensed on coming out the victor and is not above speaking to his opponent with the demeanor that makes them feel humiliated, all a part of his effort to break the will. Despite his nonchalant attitude he speaks politely and calmly and also being of nobility and is often marveled at by his raw power. In addition to this, he maintains a level of humility and dignity, never crossing the line of arrogance and being blinded by his own strength.
Shusuke can also be described as cold and calculating when angered or disappointed, but nonetheless is controlled in every aspect of his being and will rarely allow his emotions to get the better of him in any situation he may face. Also having sadness in his heart for his lost loved ones, and his failure to step up to the plate and be a father to his long lost child has weighed heavily on his heart over the course of his life. And thus, does not speak about his son or his past trauma with anyone. Due to this trauma, he is highly dedicated to the law and has thrown himself into a life of serving and protecting the sanctity of the principles and standards that a Shinigami should hold himself to. He has learned and is able to recite nearly every last law and standard that is listed for every Shinigami, from Captain to Unseated. His adherence to the law is absolute, able to recite most all as well as debate, and support the laws all Shinigami must follow. Now more mature in his age, getting up and beyond his six hundredth birthday, he has come to slightly mellow out even further and although he still holds himself to a higher standard due to his roots from the Sixth Division. He has found the transition from active police duty to a more light hearted environment to be a fun experience. Taking himself less seriously and seeing others much less harshly was relaxing but nevertheless he still holds onto his old habits of sussing out individuals and vagabonds alike. He has also acquired a certain taste for sweets and other foods after partnering with his new Captain for sometime. He often finds himself being force fed food by her much to his chagrin, nevertheless he enjoys the time they spend together and would do anything for her.
Notable Features: When described, they start off with his short jet black hair and his soft and sincere purple eyes (A trait of the Kiyoshi family), his eyes so deeply hued they can appear as neon in the night. He also has light facial hair. Shusuke also has an abundance of tattoos along his arms, back,chest and hands, all of which are of his design and drawing. He also has piercings on both earlobes and slightly above them are another set of piercings. His appearance is unimposing but his slim body is a feint to his true talents, allowing him favorable bodily freedom in combat. He has aged reasonably in his own estimate, looking more mature as the years get on but still managing to retain a somewhat youthful appearance.

Reiryoku Level: Immense Spiritual Power
Shusuke has an eerie reiryoku nature as he has vast pools of it deep within him. Due to the nature of his innate inner potential in their own right. Shusuke has been blessed with untapped amounts of reiryoku. When risen to its peak, Shusuke's inner power can be felt from deep throughout the seireitei and even some parts of the Soul Society. While he has a tight grip on it, he does have a tendency of just releasing it in its full entirety much to the dismay of the others around him and the opponent who is unfortunate enough to meet him in battle when it happens. His deep inner reserves of reiryoku have been exercised and honed to the point where only a minimal amount of it being leaked can have immediate physical effects over the terrain and alter surrounding weather patterns to become slightly chaotic.
Blessed with this inner power, Shusuke is able to easily loose and put a pause on anyone who is of a weaker level of power, walking them to a direct halt. His power can be noted to be potentially Captain’s level, giving him great reign over more pubescent individuals who possess less. While it can give off an air of relaxation upon release, as the power gradually builds and solidifies with the manifestation, it could very well be some of the most sinister energy to be felt within the Seireitei. As his age increases, his experience inside and out of battle grows, allowing him to tap into the deeper reaches of his powers to activate their pull potency. He has demonstrated acute and keen reiryoku levels, being able to easily redistribute and separate his inner energies in various points of his soul and physical appearance for multiple purposes.
Sensing Reiryoku: Master
Finding that he has an affinity for tracking people and creatures, Shusuke has refined his tracking skills to be some of the best in the Soul Society. Having a reputation of always catching his mark when on the job, he had demonstrated innate skill as to where his equilibrium is concerned. Taking note of any and all who he comes across, never like to forget a face or even an energy signature, he has memorized all spiritual energies belonging to those he has encountered if he encountered any. This in mind, when a perp or escape artist who has met Shusuke in battle before will have an unfair advantage as his keen sense of reiryoku will almost always nearly prevail allowing the third seat to always be right behind his target. In his senior years of being an upper echelon officer, his talents have become acutely keen in the way of memorization and accurate reiryoku association with every Shinigami he comes across. With the ideology of seeing everyone as a potential threat to the Seireitei, he has become accustomed to taking note of the finer details where their inner potentials are concerned.
Reiryoku Control: Mastered Control
Due to his considerably high level of reiryoku, Shusuke has had to learn how to keep it from leaking out from within. Whilst in the past he had some struggle to contain his vast spiritual energy, He has since demonstrated a superior level of control over his powers and is easily able to 'cap' different levels of his power in sections and then release them in the same manner. In his more mature years now, he has demonstrated a unique control over his reiryoku with it allowing him to do many things that make him appear as if he isn’t entirely tangible. Requiring a superb amount of effort and training, he is able to fully materialize and dematerialize his body for travelling purposes making his shunpo in particular much more efficient and different.
Reiatsu: Mastered Reiatsu Emission
Shusuke's reiatsu signature much like his zanpakuto is very similar in effect, he can emit a Smoke that can shroud his position and to a degree, his reiryoku. Having this in his arsenal, he can catch many foes by surprise as he can use it at nearly a moments notice and disappear right from your very eyes with this in combination with his Shunpo skills. He is able to visually impair you by shroud a condensed amount of spiritual energy around his limbs and body giving the illusion that he is phasing away or disappearing. It can be noted that it is hard to differentiate between when he releases his sword's potential, and when he is releasing his own. In addition to this, he is able to also give the illusion as if he cannot be pierced by physical means when in battle. Making himself by design a highly difficult target to locate and or fight. The thickness of the smoke is absolute and can seemingly only be navigated by its sole producer.

Shusuke’s reiryoku can be described as being very relaxed when not being used at its most violent peak. He is easily able to release his inner energies without a single “fighting pose” or maneuver, allowing him to quickly create a plume of thick smoke into the environment that he is currently a part of. The smoke when released allows him to hide within the thick smoke and concealing his reiryoku and reiatsu signature from any sensors around him. This however does not work for his enemies as they are always within his line of sight and allows him to get the drop and surprise on anyone unlucky enough to encounter it. He has also been known to use it in a different, non-violent manner, to help break down the mental stability of his adversaries, he has learned to instill doubt into the psyche of those around him when exposed to his reiatsu. Possibly leading to thoughts of doubt and disbelief, this allows him to distract and confound his enemies with his skilled prowess. This induced skepticism will likely overpower any train of thought or action the target has originally set out to do and will often hesitate before carrying out that action. The target(s) will feel a level of lifted inhibition if succumbed, meaning with enough exertion and strength, Shusuke can even compel the truth or a confession from an individual with simple phrases and questions, allowing them to spew any misdeeds or secrets that he may require while out on the job. Any secret is bound to flow with this level of effect, personal or non-personal secrets are not left to privacy any longer and when in use the target is completely oblivious to its activation and their own babbling.

Throughout his many years of service within the Gotei 13, Shusuke has dedicated nearly every ounce of true strength behind the edge of a zanpakuto. From a young age he was brought up alongside his siblings as a sword savant, easily gaining an affinity towards the way of the sword. Upon gaining access to his zanpakuto he has since learned to be ambidextrous since having to use two blades and is easily able to switch between offense and defense seamlessly mid battle. He has always tested out his strength against members within the 11th Division seeing as they are the sword experts of the Seireitei and has aspirations of one day challenging the Kenpachi, and winning. His swordsman skill is a testament to his other ”lacking” fighting abilities, as he has put everything he has behind the edge of a blade.
Trained in many disciplines, such as Iado and Kendo, Shusuke has taken bits and pieces from every sword art he could learn and has manifested that knowledge into his zanjutsu, having no strict style or even stance, he can freely switch between these styles at any given moment. Leaving little openings in his swings and movement, Shusuke has remained a ”a slave to his blade” meaning he will never battle without the aid of his sword as most of his kills have ended with him using it. He has also since graduated from his academy days mastered the sword art Niten Ichi-ryū which primarily focuses on the utilization of his two blades in the most efficient and rapid way possible. In addition to this, his footwork is also among the best among the true swordsmen among the Seireitei’s finest warriors.
Even without the aid of both of his swords he is still a highly capable swordsman and can be argued to fight with a keener sense of focus and versatility as he views the utilization of two blades as being considerably more advanced. The simplicity in the use of one he has since mastered at an obscenely young age. As such he can be viewed as a far more dangerous opponent when both of his hands are on one blade as opposed to sharing his focus in battle between two.

Hohō Level: Shunpo Expert
As a former member of Division 2, Shusuke has had to gain further proficiency in the skill of Ho'Ho to become a true member of the 2nd Division, his previously desired Division to join. While his late sister was a member, She tutored him in mastering his steps, so that he could cover immense ground in seconds. By competing in various foot races across the Seireitei and 2nd Division barracks, Shusuke quickly learned and demonstrated a keen understanding of the Shunpo and was easily able to keep up with his 2nd Division colleagues when once a member. This coupled with a great understanding of shunpo prior to him even becoming a seated officer, Shusuke has garnered a level of speed that can’t normally be matched, even by those of his peers he is still considered to be fairly quick on his feet. Comparatively, he makes his movements very minimal making it hard to discern his next or killing attack. His previous station within Division 2, he was assigned to work within and keep in line the prisoners of the Maggots Nest, as there is no Zanpakuto to be allowed anywhere near or around the premises. Shusuke has had to develop his hand-to hand skills much to his own chagrin, preferring to fight behind the edge of a blade nearly at all times. However, his skill is not to be diminished as he has developed many self-defence techniques and a small host of non-lethal to quite lethal takedown maneuvers to quickly subdue an enemy in close proximity. His body is also noted to be fairly more durable than his stature suggests, allowing him to receive more punishment than he can dish out.

Kido Skill Level: Kidō Practitioner
Noted to be his weakest skill overall, Shusuke has spent little time in his Kido studies, and actively avoided the class while still coming up as a Shinigami in the Academy. Managing below average grades, he was still able to pass the course and go on to become a seated officer. He can easily perform low level spells with no incantation, and through his own spiritual mastery he is able to uphold the spell's integrity. However, higher levelled Spells prove to be nigh too difficult for him to both control and muster leading him to favor the low levelled spells in both Hado and Bakudo. His mastery of spells 1 through 25 is advanced but anything higher than 45 proves to be a challenge for the Kiyoshi.

Skills and Abilities: Master Tactician, Enhanced Adaptability, Enhanced Durability, Deductive Reasoning
Master Tactician: Despite his aloof and unkempt appearance, Shusuke is a very insightful and cunning man. He possesses great intuition, quickly becoming aware of any incoming danger and reacting to it in time. Kiyoshi has an undeniable talent for thinking things through well in advance, making decisive and accurate decisions quickly in battle, and seemingly perceiving any situation at hand. He is a crafty tactician, easily deceiving both allies and enemies. In battle, he regularly uses cunning and deception to catch his opponents off-guard. He is a very analytical man, quickly seeing through an opponent's power and attack patterns to ultimately make them useless against him.
Enhanced Adaptability: Shusuke has put himself and endured his own harsh training and experienced it all on the battlefield and is now able to adapt to any situation that is not completely in his favor. Shusuke's adaptability skills are second to none, always keeping calm in dire situations where it would drive a normal combatant insane and along with that not being able to make smart decisions. Because of this Shusuke will remain calm in any situation put in front of him and will sustain full and utter confidence in himself so he can get out of it unscathed.
Enhanced Durability: While not the most imposing in appearance, Shusuke has received considerable physical training from his days as a Kiyoshi disciple and is well-conditioned for battle. He can take large amounts of punishment, each time he would take the assaults indifferently, if not laugh about it, with little to no adverse effect on himself. His durability caused his opponents to be more careful about how they would go at him if they did not want to hurt themselves instead. Having hardened resolve mentally, coupled with his sheer physical strength makes him a very tireless target and opponent in battle.
Deductive Reasoning: Not an easy skill to come by for most, requiring the skill and talent of a true lawman and learning the various ‘tells’ of the many different kinds of people. Shusuke in his tenured time in the Sixth Division has formed a cognitive sixth sense and an impetuous eye for detail in any scenario he lands himself in. Ranging from bodily movements to inanimate objects as well as obstructed scenes and difficult puzzles, he is easily able to rationalize and reason within himself to find the correct path, and seemingly always make the right decision. Regardless of how small a clue, a clean environment, or dirty. Shusuke's level of reasoning will always fall to the correct path to take, making him the Seireitei’s best detective. He has been able to apply this to some of his fighting methods to further his understanding of souls and living persons hand to hand techniques as well as mannerisms concerning weaponry of various forms.

Jigokuchō: The butterflies that Shinigami use to lead them to the World of the Living. They are also used as messengers in Soul Society.
Denreishinki X: A vital tool for any Shinigami stationed in the Real World, this variation on a cell phone functions both as a regular phone and as a communication line with the Soul Society. It receives information about the time and exact location of a Hollow's emergence via GPS. A Shinigami's kills are also recorded in the phone and can be used as currency (according to the bounty placed on each Hollow). Since joining the Ninth Division, he has since got it fitted with a state of the art camera, single touch voice recording applications, as well as a short range high frequency device that can make even the most powerful of equilibriums pause in question.
Mippei Fūdo: Literally meaning (密閉フード; Sealing Hood) A parting gift from his former R/D Division mates, Shusuke garnered a reputation of being silent when walking into the lab and then turning in work that everyone had long forgotten about. Perfecting one of his favorite personal effects, a member of the Research and Development team constructed a light-weight fabric cloak that is designed to hide Reiatsu and Reiryoku. In order for activation the hood of the cloak must be on the user at all times for their Reiryoku to be hidden away.
Evidence Pouch: A small bag he keeps on his person seemingly at all times. He carries around a small black bag with multiple pockets and a strap along the back that he keeps on the inner part of his uniform which is also deceptively hidden on his person. Within it are multiple test tubes and other small scale containers to keep small clues and bits of evidence while out on duty or when investigating a crime scene. The bag also has small amounts of medical supplies enough for a singular entity, saving it in very desperate and trying situations only.
Inner World
Not the inner world you quite expect from an individual such as himself, a charred world of black burnt nothingness spanning yards and yards out into the smoky black void that seeped deep into the beyond of this ember and ebony space. Oddly enough, and more so fittingly for Shusuke to feel completely in his element here. The birthplace of many spars and training sessions between himself and his Zanpkauto, and even the very place in Shusuke's state of mind where he mastered his Bankai. En'enra eternally awaits his returns here so that they can cross blades once more. The terrain is surprisingly leveled out despite the many recurrences in which they battled and changed the landscape of their surroundings. Fissures, craters and other hazards exist here, but not to the chagrin of Shusuke or En'enra as they are the masters of this black world.
Information: Mischief wrapped in beauty, and with the expertise and the grace to add to it, En'enra is the perfect compliment to Shusuke's very being. Seeing many battles, struggles and advancements throughout his life, she is proud of the man he has become today and was glad that she had a part in shaping it. She however does not allow him to falter, making him accountable for his mistakes and forcing him to take responsibility for himself and all that he needs to adhere to. He listens to her intently, the bond between the two is undying. Upon being looked at, En’enra is faceless. An entity born from darkness and vapor and a guide to Shusuke' inner psyche. Shusuke thinks she has a strange beauty to her although she has no face nor physical form. Her talents lie in her agility and intangibility, she can disappear just as quickly as she can arrive. Her body can wither to smoke at will and at any moment making her the perfect battle partner for Shusuke when practicing. She can be as caring as she can be harsh, never mincing words with anyone including her master but always 'keeping it real' with them, ensuring them that in order to access true power, they'll need to break down a few barriers first
Name: En'enra ("煙々羅, Lightweight-fabric Smoke")
Stage: Sealed
Information: His Zanpakutō is unique in that it exists as a daisho sword pair. Their cross guards are rectangles, and the hilts are decorated by a pattern of waves and air flow, one sports an all black handle and the other sports an all white one. He keeps them sheathed through his waist tie at his left side, however, during battle, the swords have been known to be placed on both sides of his sash. Like other Zanpakutō, En'enra has a personality of her own. However, unlike other Zanpakutō, this personality shines through in battle.
Release: Sorera o suu, En'enra ("それらを吸う 煙々羅, Smoke them out, En'enra")
Passive Ability: When released, En'enra releases thick black smoke that forms into a dome that prevents the enemy from breathing or inhaling regular air, Shusuke has named this the Kitsuen Tetsu-Kago; (“喫煙 鉄かご, Smoking Steel-Cage”). When breathed in, their breathing patterns will soon begin to slow, and their heart rate will drop exponentially. Sight also becomes another variable problem as the smoke is thick and actively moving with its user. If exposed for a prolonged period of time, the smoke can shut down all bodily functions and kill an opponent. Shusuke can also use a portion of the smoke to reform his lost blade upon his hilt without retracting the vapors entirely to use and fight with. He can also ultimately retract the entirety of the smoke and seal away any and all who breathed it in within his blade. While confined within this smoke-space, Shusuke can manipulate his reiryoku and meld himself within the smoke as a shroud while hiding his presence as well as movements carefully to catch his opponents off guard. When used in conjunction with his own natural Reiatsu, he can quite very easily throw opponents off as they don't know where his own power starts and where his Shikai finishes. He is fully aware of any inhabitants within this space, friend or foe, he can easily distinguish who is subjected to the range of his powers allowing him to act accordingly in battle. He can also take control of the smoke itself utilizing his reiatsu and form it into various shapes to help conceal his actions and keep his opponents guessing.
Information: To activate the Shikai form of his Zanpakuto, Shusuke unsheathes his blade if it hasn't already been in use and slowly but surely the blade will decompose into millions of smaller fibers of dark air turning into a thicket of black smoke. He can very easily forgo any incantation or release command as he can simply just instruct the zanpakuto to reveal its hidden potentials.
Name: Bankai: Kurokoge Sekai En'enra ("黒焦げ世界煙々羅, Charred World of Lightweight-fabric Smoke")
Information: To activate his Bankai, Shusuke would crush his blade as if in frustration and then call out 'bankai' while it is seemingly destroyed. Immediately upon the compression, the sword seemingly blows up with a burst of black and grey reiryoku and forms into a tornado of thick black smoke that quickly seeps into the atmosphere and settles once again into a much larger black dome of smoke. The smoke is so thick, it will block out any light or weather patterns no matter how powerful, replacing it with pitch black. Shusuke is now equipped with both of his zanpakuto in its sealed form while they carry its new abilities in its bankai form. The radius of the smoke has been extended exponentially in addition.
Passive Ability: Within this large mass of black smoke, the toxic smoke that polluted the air has its similar aforementioned effects but is now intensified one hundred fold, as it now begins to burn the eyelids making it difficult for the enemy to have uninhibited vision. Without their sight, their sense of direction within this void will be severely limited, all the while not being able to breathe accordingly as well as their sense of smell being disfigured as they can only breathe in the noxious black ash. The smoke within can be likened to a bad snowstorm with never ending soot obstructing your immediate vision, with the capability to quickly latch onto bodies and begin to slow down movement in the joints and actually add certain weight as the opponents clothing ends up proving to be their undoing, the longer they fight within this smoke dome. He refers to this effect of his Bankai as the Hai Maisō; (“常設 灰埋葬, Standing Ash Burial”). Assuming an opponent is fully encased in black soot, or even so much as an entire appendage is covered, the ash then begins to break down the body of its prey and slowly decomposes their limbs and bones effectively grinding them down into similar matching black ash adding them to the black storm that is this Bankai.
This smoke can eat away at reiatsu, kido, cero's, quickly assimilating it and other spiritual energy based techniques as it adds to the Bankai’s active ferocity, even adding to its already vast radius, allowing it to continue to grow in both size and power. The energy itself can also be repurposed for Shusuke's use mid battle as he can form weapons and constructs while being able to continue to manipulate his own energies acutely and independently. Extended exposure to this new level of toxic smoke can lead to your insides being heated up and eventually burned via inhalation and also melt the organs within the opponent, forcing further bodily shut downs.

Born to the noble branch within the Kiyoshi family, Shusuke was one of the last pure blooded Kiyoshi to be born. Already displaying a great affinity towards combat after unexpectedly releasing a large amount of spiritual energy when his father had guests over and his reiryoku passed fumes of light smoke throughout the estate. In his formative years he was instructed by his siblings who had all either become members or are students learning to become Shinigami. From a young age, Shusuke had practiced with a wooden sword, his technique was near fluid, his balance uncannily neat for someone so young and inexperienced, yet it came to him with such flexibility it was always reflected in his sword-style for many years to come. Even most tutors became some deadly criminals due to be executed by the Seireitei. It allowed for him to learn the importance of a kill and how to do it efficiently. Ultimately it was a lesson that was hard even for a young genius such as himself to study, and has many scars underneath now tattoos to show for it.
This however didn't stunt his personality growth, he came from a very loving home and his mother adored her children as much as he loved her. His father was hard, but caring. Showing his compassion through a heated duel between blades, it was through less than several duels Shusuke learned the most about his father in these battles and the two wouldn't even so much as exchange words. The love was genuine and the bond was unbreakable. He was also allowed free expression around his home, his parents never believed in truly putting walls around children, allowing them the freedom to explore and learn new things was always their particular goal. Shusuke ended up being the most free spirited of the 5. Always making the others laugh and lightening the mood. He'd also be the one to comfort the others when they were sad, reminding them that they were each special and that he loved them.
Upon his 4th siblings graduation he sent Shusuke in the following year, he wanted to see how he would stack up in the curriculum on his own as opposed to having to feel the need to catch up or play up to teachers standards more because of how well each of them did. Ultimately Shusuke did rather well in the academy passing all classes in due time, while taking on side studies as well in Zanjutsu and shunpo. As a youth he was perceived as handsome by some women, but he paid them no mind or politely rebuffed them as he was only simply focused on school. But there was one female Shinigami in particular that always seemed to get under his skin in class and that was Akinobu Yogen. She bothered Shusuke relentlessly in class always feeling the need to outdo him in tests or perfect new kido learned in class. She even eventually became a Shinigami before he did as well. The two had a healthy rivalry and eventually a strong friendship. They wanted to become Captains alongside each other because they couldn't stand the idea of one being stronger than the other. They joined separate squads, at the time Shusuke joined Squad 2 while she was a member of Squad 9. Many years passed and they had met up in a joint mission and decided to stay together to catch up. Eventually after a long night of talking, they allowed certain illicit behaviors to happen. Afterwards she decided being in the Gotei wasn't what she wanted and wanted to be a good partner to Shusuke, and revealed to him that she was with his child. Spurring him to become Captain.
Upon becoming 6th Seat in Squad 2, Shusuke was transferred to Squad 12 due to lack of members and him scoring particularly high on an aptitude test that he had inadvertently taken. Becoming 6th Seat in that Squad and taking on some small duties in the R/D facility. While in the Rukongai, Akinobu had given birth to their son Asahi, but a host of outlaws and thieves came onto the Kiyoshi Manor in which his father and mother had stayed to look after the mother and child. The outlaws kill the guards and his parents then eventually Akinobu herself. Rushing to see the birth of his son he gets to the estate and cuts through an army of bandits and thieves just in time to see Akinobu being slain, the baby in the small bed and swaddle clothes, and Shusuke calmly incensed. He dispatches the remaining killers who slain his family. Holding onto the baby he brings him to the west Rukongai to see Akinobu's grandmother, And raise his son, Asahi and to never reveal his identity to him out of fear of whoever killed his family may come for him as well. He also gave her the option of telling him his true last name 'Kiyoshi'. Asahi had also inherited his fathers purple eyes. Shusuke would go on for the remainder of his life to never contact his son, nor see how he had grown, purely out of the pain he suffered that day.
Shusuke never breathed a word of that day to anyone, and the death of his partner and parents had haunted him for many years. Time had gone by and his siblings had all either died or retired from being Shinigami. He knew he had cousins somewhere in the Seireitei but he and they weren't close. Shusuke found himself alone and drowned himself into the rules and regulations for the Seireitei and found himself becoming a sticker for the rules. While a part of the Department of Research and Development he noticed many lawbreakers and thieves were originating from that particular squad and it began to have a certain reputation, Shusuke didn't want to be apart of that and made a transfer to Squad 6, where he excelled greatly and rose through its ranks.
As he tenured his time within the Sixth Division, he had seen various attempts at different scales of larceny and other forms of crime. Acting on his thoughts and bringing them into reality with careful and well planned execution, he has built a reputation around not only the Sixth Division but the rest of the Gotei Thirteen after the attempt by the former Sixth Division Third Seat, Shirogane Kuchiki. By using his clan's status and influence within the Seireitei he plotted for a way to steal and utilize the Evil Demon Pot to acquire Hollow-like abilities only to die at the hands of the three newly created Visoreds. Quickly giving yet another division a bad name and reputation, Shusuke stepped up to the plate by solving numerous cases such as the Black Coffin incident which took place on the grounds of Seventh’s barracks, saving his Divisions reputation. Apprehending his Best Friend, Enso Aikawa before his confession in the face of the Second Division Captain. Although he handled it professionally and without prejudice nor a bias. It brought a sadness to the Kiyoshi and even threw his own character into question asking if he would live long enough to see himself become the villain like many others such as Shirogane and Enso.
