Notable Features: Hashi is rather short in stature compared to the other members of the Gotei 13, standing 5’3’’ in height, which may seem average, but from her perception, others tend to tower over her. Her hair is a deep black, which heavily contrasts with the pale gray of her eyes, with no pigment, those that first come in contact with her believe that she is blind.




Personality: Hashidearu Kanojo, translated as “She who is the bridge” grew up within East Rukongai in the Minoboku district. Much like her district is known for, Hashidearu has developed a benevolent personality and is often unwilling to harm creatures that are perceived to be in a meeker state of reality than she is. This principle applies to wounded creatures and often extends its grace to opponents as well. As a child, Hashidearu spent her time with orphans, although she had two loving parents who met her needs, her parent’s believed that befriending those on the fringes of society would not only show Hashidearu the truth of life, but also promote curiosity and intrigue about its mysteries. As she grew, she learned to love all creatures big and small and began to negate the notion of status.

Despite her eerie nature to cause little harm, Hashidearu is deeply territorial and is often the first to defend and protect during an adverse event. When she played with the orphan children of the Rukongai, she also took on their appearance: muddied, unkempt, and often unrecognizable to her parents when she got home. This led her to learning the perseverance of being in the nitty gritty and the grace that comes when she is able to bath it all off in a hot bathe, washing her hair and submerging under hot, bubbly water.

Even to this day, Hashidearu has held true to her virtuous principles and peaceful ideas, that however, has not stopped her from joining the Gotei 13 to protect the world in which she lives. Hashidearu seems to have a balanced soul, able to see the worlds that connect each other in a way that interconnects them. Spreading this inherent trait to those around her, although she does believe in the strong and the weak, her complex notions of the worlds have become indescribably flat. It is as if she cannot differentiate Captain from citizen and Hollow from Espada, she treats them all equally. Despite this flat sense of the world, she perceives and judges based off of her duties to the roles that she is assigned. Although she believes in the balance of Hollow, Shinigami, Quincy, and even the mutt-like creatures that come from these pairings, as long as the scales are never tipped too far, she peacefully moves about her life and does as she pleases.

Centered around wholescale justice, Hashidearu is often very aware of herself and her surroundings. Although she is not omniscient in any sense of the word, she believes that her just observations of the worlds and the intertwining of their bridges gives her a different judicial process within her mind. She sees, understands, and operates in the world according to her benevolent will while exerting the full spectrum of her emotions. Her personhood and the softness that exudes from it is said to be unshakeable even in the midst of death and destruction.

Reiryoku Level: Great Spiritual Power
Hashidearu Kanajo wields large amounts of spiritual pressure. Unlike her small stature, her body exudes great amounts of spiritual power, however this usually goes unnoticed due to the fine control she uses to keep it tamed. Hashi’s spiritual power manifests itself like a calm lake with little wind. Although it is deep and teaming with life, it seems to appear stagnant, only the surface ever being seen. Hashi’s great spiritual pressure is showcased only as she sees fit. She understood that having spiritual power was one thing, but being able to utilize it as she saw fit was a different feat. Even as a student in the academy, she spent much of her time diving deep into the limits of her spiritual power by releasing it in slow, constant streams, almost as if she was placing a dam up within herself and only allowing small pools of her spiritual power to form. Due to constant effort, she has developed spiritual pools within her that flow from one large dam. Her spiritual pressure is often misdiagnosed and often incalculable by others due to her fine control, however, at its full potential it is able to cause enough pressure to create weather phenomenon in the area.



Sensing Reiryoku: Expert

Hashidearu possesses refined skill in locating and deciphering the source of a spiritual presence. She is capable of quickly reading spiritual energy and breaking it down to understand the reiryoku patterns that they emit. With deadly accuracy and quick perception, this aids her in combat, however she utilizes much of her sensory techniques to track other spiritual beings over varying distances. By being able to pick up on acute trails of spiritual residue and following it, she is also just as capable of noticing subtleties in reiatsu use of her opponent.


Reiryoku Control: Great Control
Hashidearu’s reiryoku control has been honed and trained to great lengths. She is capable of flowing channeling and distributing spiritual energy throughout her body. Through her training, Hashidearu is able harness her spiritual powers and enhance her abilities with little concentration on her part, even firing off several kido within quick succession, showcasing her ability to avoid quick fatigue by neatly proportioning her spiritual power. Along with being able to render herself spiritually invisible to other spiritually aware beings. Much more noticeable through the release of her kido as well as the control she has shown regarding her Zanpakuto’s abilities, she is deeply in tune with the flow of reiryoku within her body and is still exploring its depths.

Reiatsu: Expert
Hashidearu’s fine control of her reiryoku gives benefits to the expulsion of her reiatsu, unlike reiatsu that bursts forth and expands outward and upward, Hashidearu’s reiatsu softly encircles her. Much like meditation, Hashidearu is not entangled in a wrestle with her reiatsu in an attempt to tame it, in fact, she is the observer and allows her reiatsu to ebb and flow within its natural state just as the planets slowly follow the energy that pulls them. In doing so, she has been able to understand the natural flow of her own reiryoku levels and reiatsu expulsion in a way that has allowed her to carve spiritual “river beds” to give it a place to go. She does this understanding that she has not reached the full potential of exerting her reiatsu or tapping into her deep levels of reiryoku, through constant carving she is able to flood her riverbeds and exude reiatsu to combat against other spiritual pressures even when it appears that seconds ago she had little to none.

Reiatsu Shape: Orbital

Reiatsu Effect(s):
Dearu’s reiatsu manifests itself as an orbital ring made of black energy that surrounds a few feet around her. Dust, debris, and objects will begin to levitate and surround her as her reiatsu mimics the orbital field of her zanpakuto. When released in large amounts, the pressure created by the rapid rotation of her reiatsu around her body and subsequently the surrounding area, can blast away matter that resides just outside of her reiatsu’s orbit by increasing her output. At the full release of her reiatsu, she is capable of displacing large objects such as great trees and even buildings to erode and enter her reaitsu’s orbital field. Those that maintain their proximity will feel an intense force pushing against them in an attempt to sweep them into the current, the pressure of rotating and revolving energy is enough to cause bruising and even asphyxiation, as the air around Dearu is subject to the orbital pull as well.

Zanjutsu Level:
Zanjutsu
(斬術, Swordsmanship; Viz "Art of the Sword"): Expert

Though the first weapon she picked up were her hands and her knife, when learning the art of zanjutsu, along with the offensive capabilities of using a sword, she grew more fond of utilizing her opponent’s own force and momentum against them to protect herself and land opening blows. Able to wield a tanto in one hand and a regular katana in the other to provide for optimal defense and swift counter attacks. Due to her proficiency with the knife, learning the way of the sword was not too difficult for her, however she has only been training with a katana since the start of the academy, while others have had lifetimes with their sword. Hashidearu’s sword style feels like an extension of her own body when held close and defensive, on the offense she utilizes her speed and pin-point accuracy to land slashing blows that are wounding to the enemy. A clear mind and focus accompany her zanjutsu technique, coupled with near constant observation with her physical and spiritual senses of the opponent. Although she may not be able to beat a master swordsmen in the Art of the Sword she is able to hold her own and occupy their time, taking and deflecting heavy blows to tire them out before striking herself.



Known Techniques:
Ketsugidō (決議道, "Way of Resolution"): On the whole, Hashidearu engages in a passive form of combat and is often the preferred style of benign combatants who are unwilling to slay their foes; guardians, rather than killers. Hashidearu prefers to use the ferocity of her opponents against them, however. Dependent upon composure, perseverance, and economy of movement, it emphasizes defensive techniques performed with the employment of tight motions of the blade, as well as graceful dodges. The nigh-constant, efficient swings of the sword are intended to cover a wide area, and offer substantial protection with little effort on the her part. Poise and focus are essential. Practitioners of ketsugidō strive to outlast their typically more aggressive opponents owing to their impressive resilience and optimal delivery.

Kamae: Chūjiku (中軸, "Pivot"): Stalwart defense. Hashidearu often assumes a stable stance with her legs slightly spread. The three body centers of mass are aligned on a vertical axis to ensure optimal balance. Furthermore, the sword is held upward at a high angle, in front of her. The posture is intended to form the foundation of an impenetrable defense as she provides herself with high stability making her capable of quickly moving the blade to intercept any attack.

Tantōjutsu (Short Sword Technique) Hashidearu is effective in extreme close-quarters environments where ordinary swordplay might have difficulty. While learning to utilize the Way of Resolution with a sword, she was also trained in utilizing short swords to make up for the lack of aggression, able to use opening gaps and distortions in a sword user’s skill to counter with a disciplined art and complex system of techniques involving stabs, strikes, slashes, grips, and weapon-disarmament.

Aburaha (油刃, "Oil Blade"): A distinct stance that requires precise positioning of the sword. The technique allows the Hashidearu to protect herself with minimal effort as the correct angle causes the enemy's attacks to virtually slide off her blade with but a fraction of their original force.

Furiko (振り子, "Pendulum"): A bizarre yet versatile defensive technique. Hashidearu holds her Zanpakutō pointed downward with the main hand, and maintains the off hand on its pommel. As a result, she is capable of swinging the blade in a pendulum-like fashion that allows to effectively protect two-thirds of her body. Moreover,she may quickly swing the Zanpakutō upward to defend her upper body as well, should the need arise.

Kenkanmon (剣関門, "Sword Barrier"): Designed as one of the alleged "absolute defense" techniques, this maneuver involves a continuous series of broad swings in order to produce the so-called "Sword Barrier". Preferably, Dearu is capable of covering all vital spots due to the sheer speed of the blade. Needless to say, the technique requires substantial practice to perform properly. She is able to defend from multiple sword strikes, ambushes, and omnidirectional attacks. Because of the effort involved, the move is best used sparingly to defend only from particularly dangerous assaults, such as volleys of strikes performed by particularly nimble opponents, or a whole group of them at the same time.

Kyozetsu (拒絶, "Rebuff"): This basic move is very effective in its simplicity. Rather than allow the enemy to perform their strike unabated, Dearu parries abruptly with a swift and powerful one-handed swing of the blade. Frequently, the technique is sufficient to disrupt the opponent's attack. Thus, she can launch her own counter-offence immediately afterward.

Narashijū (馴らし獣, "Taming the Beast"): The move involves twisting her wrists whilst performing a thrust to unexpectedly intercept and force down the enemy's blade. Subsequently, Dearu can block the opponent in this position to force a stalemate.

Tawami (たわみ, "Deflection"): Dearu redirects the momentum behind the enemy's slash by guiding her blade to the side. This can disrupt the opponent's stance, and serve as an opportunity to strike back.





Hohō Level: Expert
Hashidearu takes the concept of hoho very seriously and believes that it benefits a fighting style that allows her to tire her opponent and subdue them without much physical force on her part. Due to her stature, she understands that she must be physically fit to contend with not only the size of her opponents, but also the raw force that they can exert. Through constant exertion and tiring of her physical body, she is capable of utilizing her raw strength coupled with hoho to move at immense speeds. Wanting to be a member of the Gotei 13 since a preteen, her parents created weights for her to wear around her wrists and ankles. At current she is capable of bearing 500lbs of weight on each limb despite her small stature. Showcasing that even with weight bearing down on her she is exceptionally strong and fast.

Hakuda Level:
Hakuda (白打, White Hits; Viz "Hand-to-Hand Combat:Expert

Hashidearu is an excellent hakuda expert and must continue to strengthen her natural physical prowess to take down opponents that tend to be much larger than her. Although she does not prefer hand to hand combat, she is trained in brazilian jiu-jutsu and bujinkan taijutsu and focuses on grappling, which can be used with her short blade, submission holds, and balance. By taking control of her opponent through dominant positions she is capable of defending herself against dominant, stronger, and heavier opponents by leveraging her agility and weight distribution. Through her style of combat she is able to utilize compression and joint locks to varying degrees to cause immense pain and break bones should she choose to.

Along with learning how to take down opponents larger than herself, she has designated much of her time to studying pressure points and Kyoshu Jutsu to target small areas to cause great pain. In an attempt to attack the nervous-system and subdue them via motor dysfunction, balance disruption, disorientation or even knockout depending on what pressure points she hits. She is capable of affecting the pressure points of her opponent with thrusts of her fingers, palms, and fist, making her a versatile fighter, often able to stun an opponent's limbs given a chance.

With the help of her height and little weight, Dearu is capable of maneuvering her body instinctively to respond to incoming stimuli. With the ability to form reshi sheets with her feet and hands, she is capable of turning almost any terrain into some sort of invisible parkour route, able to step finely and with absolute balance as long as she is able to see or sense the environment that she is in. With her quick perception along with her clear mind, she has excellent control over the way that her body moves and how much energy she puts into each of her muscles, making her the master of her own body even under fatigue.


Facing larger opponents has left Dearu bruised and battered, often breaking bones, however this has not stopped her from healing, getting back up, and trying again. Through sheer will power she has developed exceptional durability and strength, able to land blows and lock opponents in constrictive holds that might come from a man twice her size. Amplifying her physical strength and swiftness with her reiryoku, she has proved herself to be a fierce combatant even when disarmed. Should she land blows to her opponent’s pressure points with her strength she can quickly paralyze limbs.

Kido Skill Level: Expert

Hashidearu’s fine reiryoku and reiatsu control allows her to pursue her interests in kido and many of its facets. Even in the academy, she believed in kido and their use as not only a defensive and offensive craft, but a healing one, taking note of its benevolence and its diverse capabilities. Dearu is capable of calling upon various kido with quick succession and is consciously able to keep track of how much reiryoku and reiatsu is used during her attacks. Although she is capable of utilizing a wide array of kido, her focus pertains to bakudo and seals, knowing more of them than hado and able to utilize them more efficiently. Despite this she is a versatile kido user and could quite possibly go toe-to-toe with an opponent with just the use of her physical prowess and kido should she attempt so. Through ingenuity and constant practice, she hopes to continue to excel at her affinity for bakudo and eventually further her usefulness to healing kaido.

Skills and Abilities:

Experience Lover: As a lover of experience, Dearu often learns that way. By diving into something whether she completely understands the concept or not, she is able to quickly learn through sheer joy and enthusiasm. An author once wrote about how exuberance and play where the tell-tale signs of how a child would progress in their studies and Dearu is full of enthusiasm in everything she does.

Meditation: Through constant years of meditation, Dearu has learned to listen to her surroundings even while falling unconsciousness, though her hearing does slowly fade away. She is also capable of slowing her heart rate even amidst injury through the calming of her mind and body. Dearu is capable of subduing her often racing thoughts through active meditation and focus, allowing her to make wise decisions during before and after a battle while not negating her emotions or stress, but using them to act effectively and with her best judgement considering all factors in tow.


Pin-point Accuracy: Kyosho Jutsu, or the art of pressure-point fighting, requires precise movements at often extreme and consecutive speeds as well as anatomical knowledge of the bodies of living and spiritual beings. She has studied the anatomy of hollows, shinigami, quincy, and humans and utilizes her quick perception and knowledge to land paralyzing blows to body parts and even the entire body as a whole. By disrupting the nervous system through pin-point-accuracy combined with her speed and agility, she is capable of disarming and paralyzing several opponents at a time.

Excellent Seamstress: Dearu is an excellent seamstress and spends much of her free time designing clothes to donate to orphanages. She also designs her own clothes and is learning how to dye fabrics. She finds much peace within the art of sewing, as it is as puzzling as it is relaxing. The ability to make clothes out of fabric, creating something out of simple sheets, brings her much joy. She will often take requests to sew clothes for family members and friends when she has free time.

Story-Teller: One of the things that kept the orphans entertained was storytelling, because of this, Dearu had to tell a story each day to the orphan kids that she played with. Although she had stories of her home life to pull from, she didn’t believe that the orphans would be able to relate, so instead she began to fabricate stories of both simple and grandiose nature, entertaining the children and even the adults that stumbled upon them. Due to her prowess in telling stories without even needing a beat to think one up, it is also nearly impossible to tell when she is lying, even her pulse remains stable when telling a lie— what is a lie but a good story? Don’t we all believe a good story.

Tanto: A short sword used about 6.5 inches in length holstered on her left hip.
Weights: Dearu wears 250lb weights on all her forearms and lower calves to continue strength training even when she is doing ordinary things in day to day life. Although they are for constant training, they also act as physical limiters, slightly reducing her speed and the exertion of her physical strength by 30% .
Denreishinki X (伝令神機, Divine Messenger Machine)
The Denreishinki is an electronic inter-dimensional communications device used by Shinigami while on an assignment in the Human World. It looks nearly identical to the cellphones found throughout the Human World, and comes in many different designs.

Zanpakuto Name: Hoshi no kyokugei-shi (Contortionist of the Stars)
Zanpakuto Appearance: Dearu’s zanpakuto is a standard katana with a pitch black matte sheathe.

Zanpakuto Spirit: Hoshi no kyokugei-shi takes on a unique form as a black nongendered mass with planets and stars orbiting around them at all times. They are capable of altering their size and appearance and are always in the center of whatever celestial bodies are within their innerworld. They often present themself in an astronomical size, both filling the void of their inner world while also being one with it.

Inner World: Black. Darkness. Much like the void of space, Hoshi no kyokugei-shi’s inner world stretches for countless eons. Always at its center is Hoshi no kyokugei-shi, however at times their can be various solar systems and galaxies moving about the void, often the only system that illuminates the void even slightly are the stars and planets that revolve and rotate around Hoshi no kyokugei-shi.

Release Phrase: Chuo no suwaru, Hoshi no kyokugei-shi (Seat Yourself at the Center, Contortionist of the Stars)

Shikai: Upon its release, the Dearu’s zanpakuto turns into a pitch black tanto and is incapable of reflecting light.

Shikai Special Ability: Dearu’s zanpakuto’s ability lies within the creation and manipulation of orbital forces, often seen as the force that revolves the celestial bodies in an elliptical course. Through her shikai, Dearu is able to create an orbital field around herself to create a host of effects like calling and repelling, creating spiraling shields, vacuums, hurl items, or induce explosions from the sheer pressure of the orbital force that she creates. At its surface her zanpakuto’s shikai ability resembles telekinesis, however this is untrue, her zanpakuto allows her to create orbital designs that dwell on manipulating the vectors of objects and energies that enter her field. When a substance is caught within her designed orbital path, she is capable of manipulating its trajectory as she pleases, whether it is building her defense or launching a counter attack.

Nuno no yo ni fitto (Fit like cloth): By bringing her orbital field close to her, Dearu is able to create a skin tight field of orbital energy that augments her physical capabilities, allowing her to extend the orbital field and use it for more personal effects such as enhancing her defense by deflecting blunt attacks and also enhancing her hand to hand combat by increasing her blows with expulsions of orbital forces. She is even capable of sending out bursts or slashes of condensed orbital energy capable of destroying matter by using the rotational force to rip and tear through it as if it was entering an orbit, including clashing against spiritual energy.

Hakidasu (Sweep Up): Dearu is capable of utilizing her orbital force to create a large vortex of pressurized condensed orbital energy that takes the form of a tornado to protect herself and her allies from multiple angles. By enclosing herself in a vortex she is capable of dispersing energy based attacks while also shredding those that would attempt to enter with their bodies. She is capable of using this ability to encircle just the lower half of her body, imbuing her with a cyclone that gives her the illusion of flight.

Biography:

Growing up in one of the benevolent districts of the Rukongai gave Dearu many benefits, in fact, she had both her parents and was well cared for. Her parents made sure that she was well learned, equipt with many skills and talents, and due to her natural reiryoku reserves, well trained. They believed, and instilled the belief in her, that she was capable of anything. Although Dearu had many friends at school and in her extra-curricular activities, she spent much of her time playing with the orphan kids around her district. Her parents, although wary of her new found group, allowed it and decided that it could do no harm. Soon Dearu had raised herself up to be second in command of the orphans and worked in tandem with the leader Saki to perform little raids on carts and stores, and pick pocketing those that found themselves on the wrong side of town. By the age of 8, Dearu and her group had accumulated quite the renown among the orphans and she was jokingly called the Orphan Fairy.

Dearu’s experience in living on the streets, while also having a bed to come home to every night and lay her bed down gave her different perceptions of the world. She understood what it was like to live amongst the poorest among her while also having the comfortability of not truly feeling the starvation and the hunger they felt. Often she would bring them snacks if one of their raids had gone awry: fruit, vegetables, and rice would often be carried in her little sack, however, it was always impossible for her alone to feed everyone. Dearu grew up with these orphans and learned how to fight using a knife, pick pocket, and thieve in both darkness and broad daylight. Once she joined the academy she had to leave the double life of a vagabond behind, however, she hopes to one day make it to a rank that will be able to affect the lives of those that she grew up with on the streets and those that she never met who were in similar positions like her.

She believed that all things required balance, and it was just as fair for an orphan to steal food as it was for a rich man to throw it out. If the scales were so tipped that those with excess were ravaged by gluttony and still unable to use their resources efficiently, then the excess should naturally go to those that are without. Despite her past antics, she is a rather benevolent creature, even when she learned the name and ability of her zanpakuto she figured that she would be wonderful support and defense for her squad, however, because of this and her size she knew that she would have to be able to support herself, just like she did in the streets of the Rukongai. She benefitted from her parents allowing her to live the secret life of a vagabond, as if she too was fighting for survival everyday during the summers and winters when she didn’t have school. The world is full of danger, mystery, and imbalance. Dearu believed that if she could experience it all, even up to the edge of death, she would at least be able to bring balance back to a few people’s lives.

Notable Features: Ketsu is known to always be styled in his Shinigami robes with his own added flair to the outfit, the kimono being sleeveless, the pants being baggy and a white sash around his waist to hold his sword in place. He sports white hair with a few cotton candy pink streaks at its crown that lays disheveled around his head, hanging low over his eyes, which are thin, purple in colour, and heavily lidded. Ketsu is nothing short of a pretty-boy. His skin is flawless and fair, though his back is covered in various tattoo's. He is quite tall and somewhat lanky, standing just below 6'2 and weighing around 156 pounds.

Personality: To sum up Ketsu in one word, "Arrogant" is usually what comes to mind. Having been gifted with natural talent and skill, Ketsu already knew he was better than everyone before he'd even reached the Academy. He doesn't think much of anyone outside of his division. No one had peaked his interest and those who did usually reaffirmed their existence as failures in his eyes, soon or later. Ketsu is a prideful and haughty creature, always looking down at others and taking curt, deep-cutting jabs at those who dare waste his time. He makes a habit out of being cynical and pessimistic of others he doesn't see as equals. Having done this most of his life, pessimism has been ground into Ketsu’s bones. His eyes maintain a skeptical glare and his mouth find relief in a conceited smile almost as if it was natural, to begin with. It takes a lot to catch Ketsu’s attention, more so to keep it. However, when this does happen, rare as it is, Ketsu becomes obsessed. What will they do next? How will they deal with this? What type of person are they? Who can they become? How can I meddle? These questions and plenty more float around in Ketsu’s enthralled mind and sometimes it become unhealthy, almost to the point of stalker-esque fascination. Finding someone who can match his wavelength, someone who he can never take his eyes off of, someone who wows him at every turn and keeps him on his toes, someone who will forever engage him, that's Ketsu’s dream, along with a few others.

Relatives: The Munetoshi. The Munetoshi is known for the Numbers of Shinigami they assist from the Rukongai into proper training within the family compound only to head off to the academy to join the ranks of the Shinigami in the name of the seiritei. The Family has a knack for finding and breeding just the right Shinigami and souls to benefit the Shinigami in numbers and set of powers, many past family members raising to rank of captains and lieutenants and have play significant roles in the seiritei in the past, which has raised the family to their status.

Ketsu has several siblings both older and younger. He is the twin brother of Yua Munetoshi. His father Kairyuko his mother Annaisha. He has several siblings the most notable of Aiya, one of his younger siblings, and Yuki his adopted younger sister.

Reiryoku Level: Great Spiritual Power

Ketsu has quite a high amount of spiritual power, being gifted with it since birth, unable to truly make use of it until he entered the Academy, which allowed him to use it effectively. In his 4th year, he grew to an extent where he was able to refine it. He is able to easily tank attacks from those with lower Reiryoku then himself, and even take attacks from those of the same level as him without too much difficulty, some of the damage being reduced when inflicted upon him.

Sensing Reiryoku: Expert

Because his Reiryoku is so high in amount and control, Ketsu can recognize the pattern of his friends and acquaintances after some time, being able to sense their presence and their physical and mental state from relatively great distances. Sudden changes in Reiryoku pattern can mean that the person in question is in great stress (i.e. fighting) or has received a grave wound. He’s actually able to capitalize on this ability during combat, detecting attacks from enemies faster and with much more ease than those beneath the skill level of expert.
He trained for a good few years to get to the capability of Practitioner, although after the passing of Jinnosuke, he wanted to further this skill, as he wanted to know when and how exactly his comrades were in harm's way. And that’s exactly what he did, souring up a rank to get a more refined control in the area.

Reiryoku Control: Great

Aside from controlling the amount of emitted Reiryoku, Ketsu is capable of performing many superhuman feats with the help of his Reiryoku. These feats usually require a certain level of concentration, and they tend to tire him out after some time, or after performing some of them in quick succession. He usually gets fairly starving after overexerting himself. Ketsu can even completely block his Reiryoku from “pouring out", and can completely hide his presence from other spiritual beings and spiritually aware humans. This took him hundreds of years to achieve. He’s capable of hiding his presence from spiritually aware humans, individuals with no or poor control, and generally standard Hollows and seated Shinigami beneath 5th seat.
He wanted this level of control after encountering a group of Shinigami that he had no conscious awareness of, and he too wanted that. Although, admittedly, he’s not as skilled in this particular area as he’d like to be.

Reiatsu: Specialist


In addition to training his Reiryoku control, Ketsu further trained his abilities for an extra few hundreds years in this skill after first training his Reiryoku for an even longer amount. He has got to the extent that he’s able to release his spiritual powers in the form of a pressure. He is able to restrict and redirect movements of lower spiritual beings, even fellow Shinigami. Despite his almost infinite reserves of spiritual power, he can still be out pressured by Espada, Captains, Privaron Espada, Vice Captains and at the very least Shinigami third seats.
He desired decent skill in this area after being scared stiff was just being in the vicinity of a Captain. He doesn’t care too much about it, although certainly wanted to be able to redirect attacks as he saw as a necessity.

Zanjutsu Level: Master


An intimidating Master Swordsman with formidable strength, considered an artist with his blade, Ketsu has ensured his powerful status in the 10th with his incredible might. He had dedicated hundreds of years to his training of Zanjustu, probably training for more than half the time he’s existed in fact. His slashes and slices are so precise and great that he’s able to take on even dozens of Menos single handily. In fact, he is so well versed with his blade that he is able to stop and adapt the movements of his attacks mid-swing with no conscious effort. Being a close-range attacker, he’s both agile and gloriously strong enough to close in and take down a target with such masterful skill he could be considered a prodigy among the 10th. He's a very capable combatant, able of holding his own, even without the use of his Shikai; and can easily strike down many a foe. He frequently uses his Zanjutsu mastery in conjunction with his Hoho, darting around opponents and cutting them down. His Zanjutsu skill is his pride as he always maintains this level of strength in the swordsmanship department and uses Zanjustu, along with its various techniques, constantly during battle, even to the extent he relies on it sometimes. He loves to dish out damage with rapid slashes and precise swings of his blade, always opting to hit vital points of the targets body.

He was determined to reach this skill after witnessing a fellow Shinigami slay many Menos with just this rank alone. After that encounter, he wanted to reach that same level so that he could easily slay those under him. He went through many historical records and watched many battles to get a great understanding of Zanjutsu and its components. This is how he learnt so many techniques in it over the hundreds of years.

When he first started out in the 11th, he considered himself weak and wanted to build up his skills more and more until becoming the strongest. Sure, he isn't the strongest in the 11th, but he’s pretty damn strong. His arrogance is what led him to training this specific skill none stop, wanting to reach its peak so he wouldn’t be considered “useless” or “pathetic” anymore. It was also kind of out of spite, as he wanted to prove everyone wrong and show he did have some value.

Known Techniques: Suikawari, Ryōdan, Senmaioroshi, Hitotsume: Nadegiri, Shitonegaeshi, Onibi


Hohō Level: Expert


Ketsu is capable of performing fast movements, able to maintain this technique for a good duration of time. He can seemingly take only a few moments to bridge what would normally be considered a large distance. Ketsu usually uses this technique whilst in combat, or even for mobility purposes. He practised Hoho to such an extent because, well, he believed it would help with his Zanjutsu usage, and boy did it! He’s able to quickly maneuver around a target and slash at them quickly, ending fights in a “flash”.

He became inspired by watching others using Shunpo to traverse areas and slay opponents with such quickness, and he too wanted to be able to enact this. He dedicated himself for hundreds of years just to get to the Expert level, and constantly paired it with Zanjustu, making various combos with both his Shikai; its special abilities, and Zanjutsu art style. He sees Hoho as a key aspect in the art of the sword, and as such makes it a requirement that he regularly trains in this area until obtaining master.



Known Techniques: Speed Clones

Hakuda Level: Novice


Ketsu, due to refining his swordsmanship more so than his hand-to-hand combat, he has only achieved Novice when it comes to Hakuda level. He’s not so versed in this style and is almost comparable to an Academy Student in this form! However, he has picked up one move which he trained for hundreds of years for!

Known Techniques: Taketonbo


Kido Skill Level: Specialist

Ketsu is surprisingly a Specialist when it comes to Kido Skill, mainly opting to powerful spells in combination with his swordsmanship and even Shunpo from time to time. He trained hundreds of years in this skill, wanting to get each spell he learnt correct and even made it his priority to regularly maintain his spells accuracy by going out on missions and using purely spells to take on Hollows and other opponents!

He viewed his comrades' skills and tweaked them to his own liking, picking and choosing what Kido Spells would be useful to him and making various combos with each spell and his blade, heck even a few combos with Shunpo!

Known Spells: Hakufuku, Byakurai – This one in particular is his favourite. He also knows Bakudo 1-49 and Hado 1-49

Zanpakuto Name: Shōgekiha (衝撃波 “Shock Wave”)

Ketsu’s Zanpankuto is seen to be a moderately curved Shobu Zukuri-style katana with a cotton candy pink and silver colour scheme. It's tsuka is cotton candy pink, and its hamon is silver, as well as a dark sheath with a pink tip. Engraved onto the handle, are a few Kanji that are very similar to the talisman earrings his Zanpakuto Spirit wears. He tucks the sheath into the side of the white sash he wears around his waist. The 40 1/2” overall fantasy sword slides smoothly into a black wooden scabbard with pink metal accents.

Inner World Name: Kōryō to shita mizūmi (荒涼とした湖 “Desolate Lake”)

Inner World: Ketsu’s inner world is a deallocate field, with murky water that’s about ankle deep flooding the grass-ridden floor. Small vibrations cover this water, rippling over each other out of nowhere. The sky and clouds are pure black and rain down spikes of grimy rain and ginormous crimson thunder strikes that strike way to close for comfort to Ketsu.

Zanpakuto Spirit Name: Shōgekiha (衝撃波 “Shock Wave”)

Zanpakuto Spirit: His spirit, a spiteful Mage, floats around him and torments him, stating everything Ketsu himself may find as an insult; insulting his pride and honour. He’s a sorcerer angry he’s stuck with some kid who’s got no idea how to use spells, despite Ketsu knowing a good few Kido Spells., yet the Mage still deems him a “fake Mage”. He acts like a mean and tormenting individual to Katsu who, in his eyes, looks like a kid, like a really mean older brother type. The spirit has a well-defined jaw line with menacing red eyes, complementing his flat top classic blue hair that’s longer than average. It’s flat on top, but splits into four ponytails, two of which stream down his back and the other two running down his throat. In addition, he wears standard Sorcerer garments. He has a pair of talisman earrings fashioned after kanji.

Shikai: Ketsu’s Shikai the appearance of a giant pair of scissors. The scissor blades can be disconnected at the joint, becoming two inverted swords for Ketsu to wield. When the blades are disconnected, he can use his Shikai special ability within each of them, using the same one simultaneously.

Shikai Special Ability: Essentially, Ketsu is able to launch an initial, explosion and alarming shockwave attack and then a second bone crushing shockwave of striking force is unleashed a few moments afterward, effectively creating two impacts with one attack. Each striking force and impact generate titanic tremors capable of tearing down buildings. If this initial attack is avoided by the opponent, the attack would instead bounce of the initial one as a sort of ricochet effect to create a directional ranged attack or to catch an opponent off guard, but thats the extent of the "redirection". It’s something that knocks them off their feet, shakes them to their core, disrupts senses, shatter bone, crush opponents under a powerful shockwaves weight and knock someone out with a devastating blow. The sheer strength and ferocity of the shockwaves are nothing to scoff at, their formidability being great and mighty, a single concussion shockwave being devastating. Each time his blade(s) come into physical contact with something it generates these twin impact shockwaves, so Ketsu can even make use of them outside of combat.

Personal Relationships: Other than the 10th Division, no one really comes to mind to Ketsu. However, when he was in 11th Division, he was quite fond of Jinnosuke.

Likes: He likes training up his weaker skills and refinery his already great ones. He enjoys spending time relaxing in the shade and cool night air, finding the bright moon and twinkling stars soothing.

Dislikes: He dislikes having to relearn the basics of skills, even if it's required in training. He also hates Mages, mainly because his Zanpakuto spirit, a Mage in its self, taunts him relentlessly and damaging his pride.

Reiryoku Level: Immense Spiritual Power
Kei's reiryoku, or spiritual presence, is abnormally large for someone of her build. Being a soldier in the Gotei for many years, she has been noted to have an exceptional volume of reiryoku inside of her. Those who are able to sense into the depths of her soul, marvel at the amount of potential hidden deep inside. It’s exemplified greatly when using her Zanpakuto or when simply casting Kido Spells. The sheer size of these attacks and strength of these attacks are a testament to the vastness of reiryoku.

Sensing Reiryoku: Expert
Kei has always had a knack for sensing reiryoku, thanks to her father. Even as a child, she has ease sensing people and finding patterns. Kei's sensing abilities is predator-like, akin to the apex species who go out and hunt to see their prey. Kei’s instinctual sensing ability is truly uncanny. Combining this with her enhanced precision in the arts of Reikaku, strictly due to years of honing, Kei is able discern, analyze, and pragmatically locate enemies and allies alike with ease. This ability only further soared due to training and meditation in the academy. It has also really helped when using her kido and predicting where to fire it off in an attempt to hit her opponent.

Reiryoku Control: Mastered Control
Every ounce of power is contained and bottled up with the some ease, and guided with surgical precision. In her Shinigami stint, Kei Mika has been tasked to controlled the unnatural amount of reiryoku she possesses. Practice for years upon years, and multiple dangerous adventures has turned something deemed an unbearable burden, into a insurmountable strength. Her Kido spells benefitting from this control to the utmost able to consistently stream the perfect flow of power into her spells in order to adjust them to any level she pleases. The process of this being all very easy. Able to swiftly flow her reiryoku to any part of her body in a mere instant, she’s capable of casting spells at a near instantaneous speed. Kei is a master at Reiryoku Control due to the amount of time she has put into honing her skills. From fighting rogue shinigami, hollows, and quincies to constantly activating kido spells without breaks. Her mastered control allows her to release kido spells with relative ease and insane accuracy. Even when her mental state takes a hit she is still able to release kido spells with ease, though her abilities take a hit from her mental state.

To an outside observer, Kei’s reiatsu could be considered magnanimous, deadly, and engulfing. Just the sheer amount of it on release, is capable of engulfing her entire division barracks without a moment’s notice. The immense amount of reiryoku she possesses being a key factor in this feat. Upon its pressure being felt, it beckons similarities to a wild and predator like aura that seeps through her skin, and floods the area with an presence of death. To the point where it feels like they are being crushed by their own sense of fear. Crippling and coiling around her victims, until they’re completely restricted, unable to process the sheer amount of reiatsu she possesses. Though not being able to release the utmost of her immense reiryoku to its fullest potential, Kei Mika’s reiatsu still boasts an unreasonable amount of pressure amongst even the elites within the Soul Society. It is to the point that she has to limit herself with a black choker, made by the twelfth division, that eats her reiatsu.

Maki's reiatsu can be compared to the living incarnation of fear. When affected by her reiatsu, most feel a heavy dampening effect on their entire body. Zanjutsu Level: Expert Swordsman
Able to wield a Tessen in one hand and her sealed zan in the other to provide for optimal defense and swift counter attacks. Due to her proficiency with the tessen, learning the way of the sword was not too difficult for her, mainly because she started training since she could properly hold a sword. Kei's sword style feels like an extension of her own body, on the offense she utilizes her speed and pin-point accuracy to land slashing blows that are wounding to the enemy. She accomplishes this via her own custom zanjutsu style, Ken Ato: Koukon Kyōi or Sword Art: Twilight Viper Kenpo which takes advantage of Kei's flexibility to make her strikes as deadly as a snakes. Ken Ato: Koukon Kyōi, or Sword Art: Twilight Viper Kenpo, is a form that takes on various snake like movements and lethality to deal unrealistic strikes to her opponent. A clear mind and focus accompany her zanjutsu technique, coupled with near constant observation with her physical and spiritual senses of the opponent.

Hohō Level: Shunpo Master
To be a master of arts of Hohō would be an understatement for Kei Mika. Though not flourishing in the arts as early as she was with her immaculate Zanjutsu abilities. She’s come to know over hundreds of years, the value of pure refined technique, speed beyond reason, and the lethality of a swift strike. All of the things needed for a snake to end it’s target’s life. Being unseen, unheard, and always ready to move. These messages held a strong grip on Kei’s mentality, and the way she trained in the arts of Hohō. Her speed impeccable to the point it almost seems as if she can bleed in and out reality on a whim, making her nigh-untraceable. The academy only exemplifying these traits further, along with the horrible nature of patrolling Karakura Town constantly. She always needed to be alert, aware, and ready to move on a whim. Being able to traverse unrealistic distances on a whim, the concept of length being trivial to the level skill she displays in these arts. They only get exemplified more, when in usage of a higher tier abilities such as with her usage of Senka. Almost being imperceivable to anyone caught off guard. Her ability to use speed clones so efficiently, that their efficacy and look almost leave no difference to the original.

Hakuda Level: Specialist
Her father constantly tested her in the art of combat without her having a weapon. Though not being the strong individual, Kei was also adept at the arts of disarming and subduing her opponents efficiently. Though she must continue to strengthen her natural physical prowess in order to stay at her level, she has been often told to have deceptive strength. Using her knowledge of Hakuda as well as the weight of her opponent, to deal deadly strikes to anybody, even those severely out of her weight class. Most times she spends hours training her core muscles and physique. Though usually having a smaller physique and size Through her style of combat she is able to utilize her speed and precision to take enemies down. Usually with ease.

Kido Skill Level: Kido Specialist
Kei is a Specialist when it comes to Kido Skill, mainly opting to using binding spells. She has trained for hundreds of years in this skill, wanting to get each spell she learned correctly and even made it her priority to regularly maintain her spells accuracy by going out on missions and using purely spells to take on Hollows and other opponents. While she isn't insanely good at Kido, Kei has a trick up her sleeve that she rarely uses, the ability to use such spells at the normal strength without the need of an incantation. Due to her mastered control over her reiryoku, Kei is able to swiftly launch low ranking spells with ease, and if she tries she can launch two at once. And can use Kōjutsu Eishō (後述詠唱, Spoken-After Incantation) to strengthen the spell after she launched it.

Skills and Abilities: During Kei Mika’s time in the Shin’o Academy, she relished in her ability to display just her preliminary zanjutsu abilities. As time went on she began to develop these techniques, excelling at the top of her class and going into now being one of the strongest sword fighters in her division. Just by being in one of the most combat heavy divisions such as 13th, she’s been able to not only hone her technique in real combat, but experiment with her own style. Trying her hardest to differentiate herself from other Zanpakuto artist within the Soul Society. This led her to establish a unique motif to her own Zanjutsu style. For every strike, every swing, even her own bodily movements transform. Those who’ve come to witness this style of zanjutsu, comment on her flexible swordplay and how she moves seamlessly through the battlefield. Making other shinigami within her division assume she’s developed her own Zanjutsu style of dubbed by the unseated members who watch her art consistently, Ken Ato: Koukon Kyōi (剣アート: 黄昏鳳凰拳法), or Sword Art: Twilight Viper Kenpo, is a form that takes on various snake like movements and lethality to deal unrealistic strikes to her opponent. Whenever Kei physically wields Nemuru in her hands, the speeds unto which Nemuru moves drastically increases due to having a proper connection to Kei's personnel. Mika also wields two black stiletto-type weapons. They have a handle with a thin, circular loop at the butt and a long, conical point designed for stabbing and thrusting. They are usually coated in the poison her shikai produces.

Zanpakuto Name: Nemuru
Zanpakuto Appearance: Nemuru is a black bladed katana that usually sits on her back. The blade is 45 cm long with the handle being 15 cm, in total Nemuru is 60 cm long. With her sheath and handle a dark blue, she also has three tassels and charms. Each one meaning a different thing. The tassel on the end of the handle represents how lonely Kei feels, with the other two tassels representing her grandfather and mother. The three charms represent Luck, Honor, and Respect. Nemuru also has a gemmed bow to represent her father. On the end of the sheath is Kei's family emblem, a flower within two boxes.

Zanpakuto Spirit: Nemuru, also known as Muru-san as preference comes off like a ecstatic tomboy with a kind spirit. Her body is covered in armored snake scales adorned with chains decorating her person. Nemuru has purple colored hair and eyes. She tends to carry her S's when she speaks, and reverb to her voice similar to hollow when she speaks.


Inner World: A deep and dark dungeon of nothing but despair and death. Nemuru’s lair reeks of the everlasting feeling of it. Using Kei as it’s prey, the construct of the world changes and contorts to however the Zanpakuto wills it. The windows outside of the prison only lead to a alternate overcasted world filled with nothing but smoke. She dares her owner to venture out into this world eventually, hoping to one day allow Kei to explore the true outer layers of his world.

Release Phrase: Surizā, Nemuru (Slither, Nemuru)
Shikai: Upon release, Nemuru turns into a sentient bone white chain of diversified lengths that has a razor sharp points and has been documented to be sharp enough to slice through an Adjuchas armored hide. Nemuru moves around like a snake, perpetually suspended in the air and manipulated by Kei's will and command. Kei has a diversified portfolio on how to use her shikai, this includes but is not limited to; shielding, and transport. While Nemuru is primarily a combat style zanpakuto, it has a few defensive abilities, capable of constricting a person without physically harming them, and applying an strong crushing force. This fluid chain plays perfectly into the Kei’s aforementioned style Ken Ato: Koukon Kyoi. Though Kei has many ways to use Nemuru, she is still discovering more uses to this day.


Shikai Special Ability: Poison of the dark snake (Dākusunēku no doku, ダークスネークの毒): Naturally while in her release state Nemuru secretes a deadly nerve and cell destroying poison from her fangs. Whenever the snake head actually latches on and bites down on an unfortunate being, their body begins to shut down. All motor skills and common sense begin to fade as the poison takes its effects, being incurable except only to Kei herself. Nemuru poison instantaneously injects into the target and when inside it quickly spreads to the entire body. Those with a immense level of reiatsu are able to stave off this effect for a while, only before succumbing to it’s effects. With spiritually weaker opponents succumbing on contact. Literally eating away at their strength, dwindling their power and corroding their cells to cause the loss of bodily functions, to the point where death becomes inevitable.

Biography: Kei was born in the Maki noble family. When she was the actual age of 40, her father decided to start training her as the sole child of the Maki family. She started zanjutsu at the actual age of 40, while starting hakuda at the actual age of 45. She started learning Hoho at the actual age of 100. And Kido at the actual age of 130. Though at first she thought it was hell, she started to look forward to the next training and the next, and the next, and so forth. Until her 160th birthday, when her present was word of her father passing. She wanted to ball out, crying, screaming, the works. But she kept it in. Trained harder, and became head of the Maki family. At the age of 161 she went to the Shino Academy. After her graduation at the Shino academy, she went for her father's old squad, wishing to surpass him and become captain (he was only able to become 10th seat). She trained hard constantly, Taking any mission she was given, constantly climbing the ladder that made up the 11th division. A year after graduating Shino academy, Kei’s mother, Hatsu adopted Aro. Hatsu adopted Aro who was a prodigal son/daughter and tasked Maki to nurture Aro into a honorable and strong shinigami to surpass Maki as head clan leader after her death, as well as exemplify Maki's ability to lead confidently and with sudden changes. It was Hatsu's way of testing Maki to see if she could hold the mantle of leader.

Notable Features:

A hood covers his hair while a red hannya mask is over his face. This makes determining his features difficult. Tsubasa's face has only been seen by those in the academy with him. Its crafter Kori Shiba has seen what he looks like. But beneath the mask is a handsome face with crimson eyes. His skin is understandably pale from a lack of contact with the sun. Tsubasa does have a powerful physical body, shown by his brutish style. A pack of equipment wraps around his waist. The traveling gear for repairs of broken Zanpakuto. While also wearing his Zanpakuto across his left side.

Removal of the mask and hood reveals short crimson hair and crimson eyes. Tsubasa's physical features are of a twenty-something shinigami. A burn mark is on his abdomen from his clan, a signal of his banishment.



Personality:

To all those outside of the 8th Division, Tsubasa likely comes across as a weirdo. No sense in choosing the 8th Division over the 11th or another combat squad. But to those in the Division, Tsubasa is devoted to making a difference. He can't perform the tasks others can. Working the forge is past his capabilities. But because of this, he took up working on Sekkiseki stones. Making a difference and enjoying good times with friends. He'll party with those in the 8th with equal spirit. Tsubasa can be the calm voice in his Division at times. But he fits right into the merry band of 8thn Division outcasts. .




Relatives:

The Unabara is known for its capabilities as spies. Each member is capable of working undercover efficiently. Tsubasa's entire being was the antithesis of his clan. He couldn't hide his presence nor fight with delicate skills. So with this, he was exiled from his family. And left with no alternative but to enlist in the Academy.

Reiryoku Level: Vast Spiritual Pressure

His reiryoku, even as a boy, had been extremely large. He never could control it, no matter the training. Tsubasa is constantly feeling it through his body leaking out. The mask he wears does help him bring it down to a level where it doesn't trouble others. He's destroyed places merely by standing there. Where he grew up, fights ended without a punch thrown. Potential exists within the Squad 8 fifth seat. But he's no interest in fighting. Seeing the struggle of it as a tedious exercise. Tsubasa has often relied on the overwhelming force of his power to defeat enemies. So he may return to the things he does enjoy. He was shown to win most matches in the academy through this force alone. Not having to rely on other skills such as kido.

Sensing Reiryoku: Expert

Even as a child, his senses were extraordinarily sharp. He could find even the best hiding of his family's assassins. Hiding from him was considered a pointless endeavor. As he could locate almost anyone in the family aside from the absolute masters. His training in the academy revealed he had a keen sense of it. Able to sense people from a lengthy distance away. His training in the field only went so far. But he did get extremely good at detecting the energies of those around him. Even able to measure where they stand. Though Tsubasa doesn't generally like what he calls peeking.

Reiryoku Control: No Control

The matter is that Tsubasa simply cannot control his reiryoku. The amount is too huge for him. It would be like containing an ocean in a box. It is the reason equipment was made for him. To help him devour large amounts of the reiryoku coming from his body. It leaks even with the device on his face being used. This is a fact of life he simply has had to accept. Most devices and things aren't adequately equipped for him. Tsubasa has often said the world seems made of cardboard. Even the people and creatures known as hollows. His mask has been removed only twice in his matches in the academy. The damage was significant to the surrounding area and people on both occasions. He left the person he was fighting beaten without throwing a punch. Merely pushing them down with his raw power. This wasn't a choice he made either time; the teachers had him remove it.

Reiatsu: Master

Though rare when it happened within the Academy or by family. Tsubasa's raw power in both his reiryoku and reiatsu is frightening. His parents said that he could throw fully grown men like toys as a boy. These were skilled assassins far larger than he. His control isn't what makes him frightening when it comes to this. It's the fact that the bottomless abyss like nature comes across. His presence has destroyed rooms and wrecked entire city blocks. Tsubasa has taken down a building by standing near it. Leaving them unconscious from standing too close to him.

He cannot hide from people and can be found often by enemies. The problem for him has always been containment. His family wanted him to master stealth and hide away from his presence. He never could do it even with all his might. Tsubasa found it impossible. Even his teachers didn't have a solution. Neither family nor the Academy was able to contain it. It was like fighting against a tsunami. Everything in its path would be demolished and crushed. This had nothing to do with the power his reiatsu gave off, merely its presence. Tsubasa has had to learn and accept his lack of control as part of him.

The feeling of being hit can crush armor and shatter blades. Tsubasa's fights have never been flashy or especially assassin-like. But to call him a brawler would be wrong. He fights with what he has and brings a frightening degree of control by letting his power run wild and be used as a blunt instrument. Kido isn't an option for him, so he improvises using his reiatsu like a Kido spell. Binding by crushing and destroying by blasting or shattering.

Life has been a stage of development and growth. One could look at the time of his studies in the academy. But in truth, he prospered in the 8th Division. Tsubasa got to duel many skilled Zanjutsu users. It was here where his reputation for power was established. Tsubasa wields his club like a sword more often than like a club. Heated matches with fellow members of the Division. The results have given birth to a diverse swordsman. Capable of smashing things in his path using both the Zanjutsu and his Zanpakuto. Despite his rank, Tsubasa has shown a great deal of promise.



Hohō Level: Shunpo Practitioner

His years in school were informative on Hoho, but once again, the three hundred years spent in 8th polished it. Tsubasa gained experience and help understanding. This was to cover the weakness of being entirely unable to use kido. His fellow Division members helped him grasp the basics. He took it from that platform in sparring and through the dedicated study. It wasn't without struggle, but his speed has proven acceptable.

Hakuda Level: Expert

His skills as a Hakuda user began early as a boy. But didn't evolve until he went from the academy to Squad 8. Here Tsubasa got to test his strength against enemies. He didn't like using his Zanpakuto often. As it would cause blades to shatter. So fighting barehanded became a theme for him. When polishing the gem, they discovered that he held enormous strength. Capable of smashing the ground under his feet by stomping. It was like a giant had been compressed into the body of a mortal. His movements did more fluid after many sessions of fighting. But in the end, his use of rare power always seemed to come first.


Kido Skill Level: Novice


Despite attempts and efforts spent, Tsubasa cannot cast kido. The higher majority explodes in his face. He's tried to learn while in Squad 8, but his actions have proven fruitless. This has been a thorn in this lion's paw for many years in the Squad.

Zanpakuto Emergency Repair Kit The Zanpakuto repair kit is comprised of several items which make it function. The first is a set of tongs that emit a Bakudo barrier in the shape of a sword. Acting as the mold, they fit neatly on one's Obi Sash. The next item within the kit is a bronze hammer. When one strikes something with the hammer, an adhesive effect is released. This allows for Zanpakuto or other broken items to be melded together. Next is a wax bar that goes into the cracks of Zanpakutos or broken items. By using this, repair becomes nearly complete. The final item is the Fukusa cloth; the unique fabric allows it to bind with the wax.

The kit rests in a brown satchel on a person's obi sash. It fits comfortably and contains one bronze hammer and three fukusa cloths. The wax is stored in a separate compartment from those two items. While the tongs may rest anywhere on the person.



Soul Forge:
Worker
He doesn't command great authority when regarding the Soul Forge. He is a drone who does work forging swords like many others. But he finds working around the device exhilarating. It is an expensive and irreplaceable tool of the trade. Business opportunities aside, it isn't for those unprepared. Tsubasa himself while only one of the masses working under Forman Kori. He does find this enjoyable making these weapons. It is exciting to see the products Squad 8 Can produce.

He spent two of his centuries desiring nothing more than the forge. To be around the object and make his blades. In the unlikely event, someone incapable tries to use the forge. Forman Kori will step in to prevent any mishaps from occurring.


Hannya Mask
The most treasured of all the things he owns is the Hannya mask. This gift was given during his academy days from Kori Shiba. It is a monster that consumes large quantities of his reiryoku. When he got this mask, life finally became easier. It made his day-to-day much less stressful, thanks to it. He discovered who he wanted to be when wearing this mask. It was right after obtaining it he began to open up more. Finally, being honest with who he was and what he wanted. Being free to make his choices and this mask leads him to Squad 8.

He never removes it, even when eating. Though the instructions were to take it off to kill someone. Tsubasa doesn't do so if he can absolutely help it. If you want someone dead, go talk to Squad Eleven or the Second Division. This is often the response he gives when regarding the request. This mask symbolizes Squad Eight for him, that building can make life better. Not the science of the Twelfth Division, but the forging skills of the Eighth. In the end, this treasure will always be his favorite, no matter the money or gold.

Inventions:

Emergancy Repair Kit
: The development and creation of the kit, which is used to perform emergency repairs, go to him. He believed the waiting time of a broken blade could take a toll. Especially on the Zanpakuto and the user, battles could be turned with a single repair. But getting something from the living world or outside the Seireitei to 8th wasn't easy. Tsubasa determined that something had to change and thus came up with each piece. Coupling them together to make this portable kit for those in 8th. While he wasn't sure how many would use it. Tsubasa himself did take careful care in taking it with him always.

Sekkiseki Extraction and Refinement Method: If not for Kori, his fascination with Sekkiseki would never have come. Tsubasa spent centuries learning the function of this stone. The mineral became an obsession. Because if he could reproduce and create more of the mineral. Other people like him wouldn't suffer from their lack of control. This process uses the advanced technology of the Soul Forge and the mastery of the 8th Division. The first requirement was to understand what the make-up of this mineral was. While not easy, he found what made Sekkiseki what it was. This allowed Tsubasa to begin building and incorporating the effects into other things.

Being bound by merely stone would be a problem and limit the possibilities. Steel and wood are capable of being given similar effects. His study into suppression has been his goal. Ever since joining Squad 8, this has been his niche. Thanks to the hard work and help from other members more capable of kido. The refinement and reproduction of Sekkiseki stone are now possible.

Tsubasa's Zanpakuto is constantly released and takes the form of a Kanabo. With round beads going along the length of it. The black color makes it stand out in certain situations. Due to his lack of control, he's never been able to seal it. While in the academy, Zanpakuto's form became famous. As he wasn't the first to have a club, one of the more famous Captains had one. The length of his Shikai allows for wielding with one or two hands. While the weight does appear heavy, Tsubasa wields it casually. He wears it along his back or carries it around depending on what he's doing at the given time.





Shikai Special Ability:

Endless Viberation:When his Zanpakuto strikes something, it continues to vibrate. Even the earth beneath his feet can be used. It only takes one strike to begin the vibrations through whatever is struck. This ability has shattered Zanpakutos and caused even hollows to explode. Tsubasa has used this ability multiple times on rare occasions when sent for missions. As his Zanpakuto can work on kido constructs as well. Two strikes of his Zanpakuto can stop the vibrating on something.

This works on the organic matter but requires direct contact with the area. For example, if an arm is struck, the arm will explode eventually. The radius of the explosion is 3 meters in its diameter.

Biography:
How do you define the purpose and the meaning to exist? For the Unabara, it was being spies. Existing and living within the outer Rukongais away from the Seireitei. Tsubasa was taught that to live, he needed purpose. So it was in his early years he tried to be a spy. But his strength and raw power made it impossible. He trained and tried learning the systems put forward. Eventually, after many years of training, they gave up on him. Tsubasa was exiled officially from the Unabara family. Sent away to fend for himself by fighting to survive.

To survive, he made a choice to enlist in the Academy. They were very interested in him as a candidate. But his lack of control caused problems during tests. Not all students were equipped to manage him. His strength when employing Hakuda and using the raw Reiatsu to fight. It was well within his first year. That a woman named Kori Shiba gifted him his prized Hannya mask. It provided clarity and purpose for Tsubasa in this life. He'd joined the Academy to survive. Now he had a goal and reason to focus.

But even with this, he tried his hardest to learn kido. Using it or even performing it was not possible. But in his defeat against this adversary, Kori had given him the answer. Suppression methods would be what he focused on. Kido was beyond him, and while Tsubasa did graduate from the Academy. He did so without being able to perform kido. Arriving in Squad 8, he was eager to make a mark.

Tsubasa spent his days studying the Sekkiseki material and finding ways to be helpful. Devising tools that would assist him in performing his job. Making connections with the people he could. He'd never be able to indeed wield the forge. So he accepted something else, pouring his being into it. In this place, he unlocked his Zanpakuto and learned to wield his Hakuda, Zanjutsu, and even Hoho better.

While living in the 8th Division, another habit had formed. Tsubasa would keep almost everything he'd gotten. Broken blades or ore he managed to get. He'd horde things keeping massive piles of work and even outside interests. Whatever it was would go to his room and stay there.

Defining his place in 8th became more manageable. He wasn't the Kido specialist the others were. He was someone to further research forging with the Sekkiseki mineral. That is how he would define himself now.

Soh is a tall woman, standing above most other girls. With a habit of leaning over others shorter than her, eyes shut, and smile firmly in place, she can come off as creepily intimidating. The shadows as she leans turning what is normally a friendly disposition into something far more sinister seeming.

Due to poor eyesight, Soh keeps her eyes closed most of the time, only ever opening to reveal her red irises and sharp eye shape in situations where she absolutely needs to see. During those times she'll also adorn a pair of glasses she commissioned that restore her eyesight to a workable degree, able to see far more clearly, to the point she'd argue it's the best she's been able to see in her entire life.

Her shoulder length silvery hair is a frazzled mess, always out of place and disheveled. However it's not greasy, rather fried and tangled, seemingly hardly ever being brushed beyond the bare minimum.

Soh also has large burns up and down her arms, mangled and scarred beyond belief, her skin having chunks of previously festered flesh taken out of it, leaving grotesque sunken indents that persist even as she puts on weight. She's self-conscious about how her arms and hands look, so she rarely uses her hands in front of other people, preferring to leave them comfortably hidden under her extended apron sleeves, even at the expense of precision.


Personality:

A cheery type, Soh is always seen with a pleasant, warm smile plastered on her face. Always open and inviting in how she chooses to carry herself, her frazzled and messy hair, the awkward clumsiness, her seeming airheadedness, all of it combining to portray Soh as someone truly as sweet as she appears.

Certainly, a good bit of her outward personality is a mask, however what she's hiding isn't anything malicious. Rather, what she's hiding is her own genius, her talents- Everything that could be seen as a threat to others. She's not the Rukongai Rat she once was, no longer seeking for fights, for the thrill of kill or be killed, now a simple surgeon and scientist. She's harmless, she swears, and she wants to portray that.

Is a genuine person that does her best to help those around her, however she felt stifled in 4th, being unable to perform experiments on her patients left her feeling like she couldn’t truly help anyone the way she wanted to. To her the study of the oddities of SS is more important than helping a few people with healing, seeing her studies as what's good for the majority, to create medicine and serve the populace of not only Seireitei, but Rukongai as well. She's a doctor, she knows what's best.

Matching her near compulsive need to study people, Soh is completely and utterly enamoured with cutting her subjects open. Dead or alive, it doesn't matter to her, as long as she can see every piece of their flesh, the way their organs pulsate and beat in her hands. To her, vivisections and dissections are the only way to truly understand a person. Seeing their most intimate of places that not many, if any, will ever see. It's profound knowing someone in a way they don't even know themself.

Soh also tends to speak as she performs her operations, narrating her process, and making up conversations between her and her patient.

As an ex-4th medic, Soh has the social capabilities and patience of someone used to dealing with unruly people. She's calm, pleasant, and a good conversationalist. Well spoken and generally formal, with an underlying rudeness due to being blunt with her thoughts, but honestly does not mean any cruelty with her words, simply speaking her mind.

Chooses her words carefully when in stressful situations, albeit speaking at a faster pace than her normal lazy one, showing the true speed at which she thinks, how her brain moves at a pace that completely goes against the way she carries herself.

She wants to work toward regenerating limbs in a simple, easy way that wouldn’t require more than swallowing a single pill. Until she can make a working prototype for her more fantastical theory, she puts her energy into creating dubiously helpful medicine.

Advocate for the usage of certain forbidden kido, namely spells down the sacrificial line. While she doesn't know any of the Kido, she knows of them, and wants to have them legalized, viewing them as a potential way to help her work toward her various medical goals.

Reiryoku Level: Great Spiritual PowerReiryoku Control: Great ControlReiatsu: Specialist

Soh has had an incredible amount of reiryoku for most of her life, however it didn't start to grow toward it's cap until after she nearly lost her arms, her reiryoku sitting at just a touch above average. However, after her near-death experience it flared uncontrollably, eeking toward its upper limit with each passing, starvation filled day. The hollow that attacked her opening her floodgates, so to speak, with its own reiatsu. It was agonizing, every moment of every day filled with the deafening growls of her stomach, her body syphoning what little fat and muscle she had to try and sustain her reiryoku, feeble unconscious attempts to prevent her seemingly inevitable death at the hands of her own power.

A local gangster took note of her, of how she seemed a cut above the rest, and decided that she'd be perfect to try to recruit even with her ruined appendages. A girl with any sort of talent that was unaffiliated, and young enough to mould to what their group needed, was a rarity, one that the man would take advantage of.

Initially Soh wasn't much to behold, a scraggly brat with no control over the power that spilled out of her, causing more harm than good to those around her that were susceptible to the pangs of hunger forced upon them by her inability to control herself. But with the help of the man, and ample food in her belly, Soh quickly found her stride, the control coming scarily quick thanks to her ability to multitask even the most difficult of focus-oriented efforts.

With so much going on behind her lazy smile, Soh is able to focus on her reiryoku control as though it's second nature, even as she needs to give her attention to other things, always having a tight grip on what she allows to escape her. She's like a ghost to those less capable in their sensing ability, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, her reiryoku signature dull at absolute most.

Expending her reiatsu as a show of power isn't something Soh has ever found to be especially useful, even as she roamed her district. Flaring her Reiatsu just the tiniest bit more than enough to signal her intentions. So, her use of it is rudimentary, basic as it was left as one of her least concentrated on subjects through her life.


Sensing Reiryoku: Expert

Being almost blind left Soh with few choices in life. Her physical senses had to grow to compensate for the lack of feeling in her hands, for her lack of sight, her reikaku did much the same, growing as her eyesight failed, an inherent indemnification. Much like her grip on her reiryoku, her senses are similarly awake at all times, a 'bubble of sight' open around her as she goes about her daily life, keeping her aware of those around her.

A distaste for being tracked doesn't extend to being the one to track, any and all who step into Soh's bubble are carefully recorded in everything they do, her area of sight large enough to extend from her own lab setup in the depths of 12th to just beyond the walls surrounding their compound. Whoever goes in or out of 12th and isn't especially adept at hiding their reiryoku is subject to Soh watching them, following their every move, as she continues her own work.

Zanjutsu Level: Swordsman

Compared to her Hakuda, Soh's Zanjutsu abilities are painfully average. While her sword is unreleased is when she's at her weakest, the basic knowledge unable to carry anything more than a practice match. Once she's released, however, her zanjutsu abilities are overtaken by her hakuda abilities, no longer encumbered by a long, inconvenient blade.


Hakuda Level: Expert Hakuda CombatantHohō Level: Shunpo Practitioner

Trained to fight with a focus on her lower body growing up, getting into an excessive amount of fights due to being perceived as strong thanks to her higher than average reiryoku, and her lack of refined control as a youth.

Her legs are the most powerful part of her body, able to snap most bones, protected or not, in two, and certainly not cleanly, the power behind her kicks always aiming to splinter whatever bones that are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end. As a doctor, Soh knows the best places to aim for to cause the most damage in the long run, rather than in the short term, to make her target's body give in under itself as internal injuries surface.

While her arms are significantly less trained than her legs, muscle and strength-wise, they are still capable enough for combat, the impact from one of her blows enough to fracture bones that aren't padded by too much muscle or fat.

Prior to her joining the academy, Soh didn't have a name for the martial art she practiced- Not even knowing it as an offshoot martial art, rather just as a bunch of random movements that let her fight in a way that benefitted her. But after, she knew it was most akin to Capoeira, being informed by a teacher. It was initially taught to her by the yakuza mentioned prior, the man teaching her so much of what would keep her alive. It's not traditional, not formal, her movements different enough that it could be called something else, but still similar enough that those that are aware of the art will identify Soh's style as it, or an offshoot of it.

The core of the art is fluidity, and Soh is quite fluid, always ready to change her gameplan on the fly.

An acrobat, a necessity of her chosen fighting style, utilizing her shunpo alongside a carefully upkept flexibility. Soh can bend herself almost completely in half, seemingly un-phased by the fact she has bones, her joints open and airy, in a sense. Acrobatic feats come easily thanks to her open joints, flipping and jumping around like a circus performer. Soh's movements make her seem like she's flying, seemingly weighing nothing while in the air even as her crushing strikes come down.

Her Shunpo, while not the best, is enough to amplify her constant need to be moving while fighting, giving an edge to her movements in small bursts. Certainly she'd like to improve it in the future, but due to being a non-combatant, she hasn't found the need to do so.


Kido Skill Level: Kidō Specialist

Fascinated from the moment she learned about it, Soh has an infatuation with Kido. It's something she sees as vital to not only her research and goals, but her life as a whole. Without it, she thinks her life would've been significantly more mundane, having no way to help others outside of combat situations.

Skill-wise, Soh is more than capable of using spells without incantations, however she chooses to focus her Offensive and Defensive energy on only a minute few spells to ensure she'll always be ready to send them off, quickly, sans incantation, and not worry about weaker than preferred power output.

She has knowledge of a decent chunk of spells, ranging from 1-30 in Hado, and 1-40 in Bakudo, but again, due to a careful focus on a few spells, seeing her use anything outside of her chosen few without incantation is rare.

Soh's main area of expertise is Kaidō, knowing the ins and outs of Chiryōyō Kidō like the back of her hand.

Her ability to heal is quick, to the point, and potent, allowing her to heal at a rate that leaves most others in the dust, though not to the level of a master of the art. Soh generally uses her abilities to keep a patient alive while she operates on them, not needing to even give an ounce of brain power as she works as long as she has a hand on them, preventing any and all issues that may arise should she make a rare mistake, or if her patient reacts poorly to whatever she may be testing on them in the moment.

Scarring is also a rare occurrence from Soh, often preferring to leave no marks behind on her patients, or leaving as few as possible if it's not possible to fully heal them. It's what takes the most time out of her healing, the actual injuries themselves taking so little time that she can have most patients in and out within minutes.

Were it not for her preference, Soh would've stood out far more at 4th. Call it selfish, but Soh would rather not have her patients left with 'ugly' scars and marks if she can help it, even at the expense of her reputation.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Anatomical Knowledge:
Like any medic worth half their salt, Soh knows human anatomy well enough to navigate the innards of a person without hesitation, taking bits and pieces, and replacing them with a solid 98% accuracy.

2. Enhanced Senses:
Aside from her sight and sense of touch in her hands, Soh's senses are far above any average persons. Yet another necessity for her survival, Soh had to learn to trust her instincts over her eyesight, to be able to identify people and things by footsteps, smells, even tastes in the air. Her sense of hearing is her strongest, being the one that leads her through her day-to-day life. She's always listening, always aware of every little pin drop, secrets hitting her ears even in the most hushed of tones.

3. Multitasking:
As though she has multiple brains running, processing, all at the same time, Soh can more than handle any array of tasks all at once without becoming overwhelmed. Certainly she has no hidden brains at her disposal, just the one, unenhanced by any technology, that works more like a machine than a piece of electrical meat. She could be working on multiple projects at once, using her reiryoku sensing to track others coming and going, and be completely fine to hold up a conversation on top of it all, not missing a beat on any of what she has her focus spread across.

4. Enhanced Stamina:
Due to her chosen fighting style requiring so much effort, Soh has an ample amount of stamina at her disposal. She's seemingly never winded, keeping up with her physically draining and acrobatic feats even as a fight drags on, and on, and on. Cheery and ready to keep up her antics.

1. Denreishinki
An old model of Denreishinki, specifically modified by another 12th Division member to remove ALL tracking capabilities from it, including those pertaining to hollows. Used almost entirely just to send and receive texts/calls.

2. Prescription Glasses
A pair of circular, thin rim, gold coloured glasses. Only uses when writing, or when she absolutely needs to use her sight. The prescription is so strong that even trying to look her in the eye while she's wearing them can cause vertigo or headaches.


Inventions:

1. Gefukugeshō no chō iyashi (下腹外傷の超癒し; lit. Super Healing for Stomach Pain) - Shortened to Gegeshi - A small yellow pill created to help those with chronic stomach pain or abdominal issues, including but not limited to; Diarrhoea, Period Cramps, Cystitis, Kidney Stones, and Gastritis. Sō, and by extension 12th Division, are not responsible for any injuries incurred while using Gegeshi. By using Gegeshi you acknowledge that any internal burns, cysts, growths, infections, internal bleeding, birth defects, or organ failure are known side-effects, and cannot hold Division 12 libel for these issues or other potential medical issues sustained while using Gegeshi. Use at own risk.

2. Toyōmi (外用薬; lit. External Use Medicine) - A simple topical use spray for everyday injuries. Mimics kaido, as if condensed in a liquid form, and able to close small injuries in the blink of an eye, but is almost entirely useless for larger wounds suffered. The ingredients are undisclosed, but if it works, it works.

3. Teashi no shūfuku (手足の修復; lit. Limb Restoration) - Shortened to Teshuu - A work-in-progress pill meant to restore a person's body parts.

Her main (crackpot) theory and point of study is; As souls are made of Reishi, Soh believes there is a way to activate an ability within souls that will signal to their body to begin absorbing the Reishi surrounding them, and repair their body back to what it was prior to the injury they sustained, even going as far as to restore/heal old injuries sustained after becoming a soul. To have something like this while not only in the field but for general usage, Soh thinks, would be invaluable. No longer risking the lives of their soldiers, or the lives of those that heal them.

The current project is unpredictable at best( previously having made a corpse grow benign, but gigantic, tumours upon injection with a prior prototype ), and outright lethal at worst( the sudden influx of reishi causing multiple bodies to implode, making Soh scrap that iteration of the formula ).

She is mainly basing her prototypes off of her own theories, speculations, and assumptions, thus far having been unable to identify the pieces of the puzzle she's looking for to make her concoctions less problematic.

She'd like to one day get her hands on a Quincy, having thoughts and ideas about them, and wanting to potentially study one to understand their powers, how she might be able to apply them to souls.

Teshuu has a working prototype made through practical science and medicine, and can be used at will. Soh, however, chooses not to offer the pills out to anyone. Her reasoning is that of a "fatal" flaw in how the regeneration works, leaving behind seam scars where old and new flesh meet. With her distaste for scarring, Soh considers the working, more grounded and logical, prototype a failure.
This particular iteration also isn't as potent as Soh would like, as old injuries are still unable to be healed.

Zanpakuto Name: Haihin || 『廃品

Zanpakuto Appearance:

A simple sword with dark, dull colours. Even the gold of the bands scattered about it's sheath are dull, seemingly never catching any light despite the appearance that they would.


Zanpakuto Spirit:

Haihin takes the form of a tall creature, standing at 7', its face bandaged aside from its mouth, eyes, and the two additional mouths that do nothing more than mumble and clack their teeth together.

He is a disgusting thing to look at, the meat of its skin barely held together under the horribly filthy bandages around its face, safety pins hooking into various points in a poor attempt to keep everything in place. Its singular eye never focuses, always drifting with every subtle movement of its head, seemingly not even able to see out of it as it sloshes around in its socket. The other socket is an empty void.

Adorning various points of his body are cockroach-like legs, covered in "hair", that stab and grope at whatever comes near them, seemingly acting as additional nerves to help Haihin navigate.

Covering most of his body is a black raincoat, the hood always up over his head. Aside from the coat, he wears a pair of black pants, black boots in a similar fashion to Soh's own shoes, and white gloves that never stain even as he collects the grime from around their Inner World.

Personality-wise, Haihin is quiet, no words ever leaving him even as his lip-less mouth moves. He's almost an enigma in this way, unable to speak beyond his own name, "Garbage", chattering the word whenever he sees litter around his world. He's obsessed with keeping things clean, collecting debris small enough to fit in a plastic garbage bag he carries with him at all times.

To Soh, he's a nice presence, something simple, something that doesn't need anything from her, happy to do his own thing and sit in silence with her when she enters their little shared world.


Inner World:

A tunnel of a faux factory, desolate, falling apart, and completely devoid of any signs of humanoid life. The only thing giving away that anything resides there being the slow, eerie echoes of wet, meaty plastic dragged against concrete and metal, ripping and gushing with every near silent step of Haihin.

Despite how it could easily be dark, matching the form of its spirit, the world is bright. Teeming with a lax, early morning sun lighting up the rusted and unkempt metals of the tunnel, and giving life to small patches of green overtaking the man-made works. It's peaceful, a place where nothing is actually going on, giving Soh an escape from her own overworked mind. Truly, this world is the only place Soh feels she can completely shut down and not do anything aside from rest.

Release Phrase: Collect ||『 集める』(atsumeru)

Shikai:
Upon release, Haihin forms as two large, sharp blades at the bottom of Soh's shoes, metal at the heel turning her usually flat footwear into a heel/platform combination, and extending the reach of her kicks.

Shikai Special Ability:

Whatever Haihin strikes splits into multiple cubes, no matter what it is made of. Inorganic Material, Kido, Cero, all of it solidifying and collapsing harmlessly under gravity.

However, it does not work on other Zanpakuto. And while it works on living beings, the stronger, more concentrated their focus and reiatsu, the easier it is for them to keep their bodies together and withstand the effects of Soh's Shikai.

Despite how gruesome one might think the technique to be, there is no gore to be found upon a person's body breaking apart. No blood, no guts, not even pain. Just a harmless collapse of meaty cubes.

The lack of need for precision helps Soh greatly, being able to use her shikai without worrying about being 100% accurate in her attacks, opening more processing power in her head and body to focus on other factors.

Soh's life prior to arriving in the West Rukongai 79th District was like a bleak overlay, everything so mundane yet horrific as she stumbled through every day of her early childhood. While most wouldn't consider it such, as she was drowned, she felt blessed, to be freed of a pathetic life of misery by the hands of the woman that had brought her into it.

Life, however, didn't get better as she found herself in Rukongai, a lawless land of beast-like humans, hollows, and death masking every corner of the district. Seeing those with higher spiritual power starving in alleyways, naught but skin and bones as they despondently awaited death. People beaten and left to bleed, faces twisted into oni-like menageries of purple, black, blue, and depravity of many descript. It all should have made her feel lost, scared. But she wasn't. Tiny she may have been, easy pickings, she smiled. The death and horror almost comforting for a child that so very clearly remembered her own death, a blanket of familiarity to the brutality she had seen in her life.

She fell in love with the grotesque while watching a fight between two men, with the loser being sliced clean open along his torso, guts spilling from him as his body twitched and convulsed, choking on his own blood. Certainly a normal sight for one of the outer rings, yet it was the first time Soh had seen anything like it, seeing someone die beneath her, the colour draining from their face. What caught her eye the most was the cut, watching as blood pooled beneath her feet, staining the already disgusting ground, and seeing as the man's organs began to slow, his death inching closer with every delayed spasm of his heart, his lungs.

His insides were amazingly fascinating, and before she knew it, Soh was wrist deep in viscera, feeling around within him, his croaks of pain never reaching her, never reminding her the man was still alive as she poked around, yanking and moving organs, veins, whatever she could get her grubby hands on.

She felt as though she knew him, intimately, as she felt him dying within her own two hands, not having to rely on her eyesight to know the man she was fondling was begging for it all to just end, to be free of what she was putting him through in his last moments in Soul Society. It was a rush of feelings, hitting her so hard she could hardly believe she had only just met the man, to know someone through to their very core was so foreign, and yet she knew it was what she needed. Words could only get you so far with someone; To know them, to truly understand them, she wanted to see, to feel, to smell, to taste what she considered their most intimate of places. What lay beneath the flesh, the fat, the muscle, that was what she knew she needed to truly know a person, and it was all thanks to the man that died in her grip.

Attacked by a hollow some time after her arrival, a weak fire-based attack hitting her arms and hands, resulting in her burns. A miracle she didn't lose her arms outright. Managed to survive thanks to the hollow getting distracted by another person with higher outward reiryoku than her, giving her enough time to run and save herself.

Soh had to perform first-aid on herself, sewing shut her wounds with a needle and thread she had stolen to repair her clothing while in excruciating pain from said injuries, as well as the torture of having to use her burned hands in such a precise way. Her burns festered, having no way to take care of them on her own beyond trying to clean them in a river, scarring so horribly that to this day her hands and arms look mangled beyond repair.

Her mind became set on one day finding a way to restore her arms to normal through her own means, to no longer struggle to use them, to no longer have to be reminded of her own weakness, her inability to save the lives of those she sacrificed for her own selfish want to live. Her scars are a reminder of failure, of selfishness, of a moment that hangs over her conscience, and she can't bear that. Being unable to move-on, wash away her guilt and regret, is a hindrance.

A pitiful creature that smiled through the torture of living in the outer rukongai rings, Soh was taken under the wing of a man- A yakuza that hovered around the area, the group he came from owning most, if not all, of the buildings in the small neighbourhood within West 79th that Soh called home.

She doesn't know what he saw in her, a child, weak and useless with arms that could barely be held up, yet he took a shine to her, teaching her the basics to keep herself alive. He wasn't kind in the traditional sense, not someone that would treat his family with warmth, and that showed in how he trained Soh, beating her down to help build her back up, but Soh found him to be far more kind than any other she'd had the displeasure of encountering in rukongai up to that point.

It was painful, but she'd admit she came out of it better off, able to fight back against the awful people stranded out on the edges of rukongai. Becoming one of them wasn't what she wanted, yet it was an inevitability as she got stronger under the tutelage of one of the less filthy bottomfeeders.

Wandering, patrolling really, West 79th had become a normal occurrence for Soh, listening for problems that could be solved with a swift kick to someone's head, or to find a brawl ending in death- To use the bodies of the dead or dying, the troublemakers, to fulfil the deep-seated need to gore someone with her own mangled hands, and use what little eyesight she had left to watch them crumble in her grip, teaching herself human anatomy in the most hands-on way possible.

Soh wasn't well known in the district. Sure she stood out a bit with her pale hair, skin, and tall height, but the most anyone could say about her was that she was another face in the crowd, another delinquent ruffian that blended in with all the others on the depraved streets of West 79th. To them, she was another nuisance, another psychopath that craved the fight, craved the kill. What made her stand out, truly, was her reiryoku, buzzing around her, higher than the average in the district, upkept carefully enough to signal to those that could sense it that she was willing to fight them, was an opponent worth going up against.

And that same signal was more than enough to catch the attention of Shinigami- One in particular caught the whiff of Soh's spiritual power, feeling the dull thrum of the exerting pressure during one of Soh's bouts. Tracking Soh down was an easy endeavor, and the woman introduced herself to the teen as Murakami Nao, a Shinigami from the 7th Division of the Gotei 13. Soh had no idea what those words meant, the terms flying over her head as the woman spoke to her, urging her to follow along- Soh wasn't stupid, far from it, but being given the chance to go somewhere nicer had an allure to it she couldn't resist.

So, she followed Nao, and found herself enrolled into Shino'o Academy shortly after.

Soh was the oldest of her class, her peers a bit below her in age and physical appearance, leaving the teen feeling out of place, as though she didn't truly belong there after all- That maybe she should just go back to West 79th. Were it not for her interest being caught early on, she likely would have. But she finally saw a path forward, ways to achieve her goals, through Kaido and Kido.

Before she knew it, she had completely engrossed herself in the study of Kaido, constantly flitting around from teacher to teacher, begging to be taught what they knew of the subject.

An absolute pain in the ass is what she'd describe herself as during her first few years at the academy, a bother to anyone and everyone that could help her even the tiniest bit. She had no qualms about being annoying, to get into dogeza and plead with all of her might to be taught what she wanted to be taught. Certainly she didn't let her other studies falter, but her focus was almost solely on Kido and Kaido, her Hakuda being the only other physical combat subject she was vaguely interested in beyond an understanding she needed the others to pass her schooling.

Spent around 50 years in the 4th Division before finally deciding to request a transfer to 12th.

4th, while her initial goal, she found to be stifling. A place where it was frowned upon to test on her patients, to use them as a means forward. Someone like Soh, always focused on how to progress to the next level, could only last so long before finally needing something new, needing the next step to drive her toward her ultimate goals.

While 50 years is a trifling amount, it was already far, far too long in Soh's mind. Her request was almost too quick, her time in the 4th barely a smudge on her history, and no one ever truly knowing who she was beyond being a bit of a loon.

Once she was allowed into 12th, she began her work and research immediately, and over the last century she has developed a few products. Her completed products are stocked at Tomorrow's Tiger Pharmacy.
